Qi Ming was so humiliated by Chu Peixian’s angry scolding that his face turned red, but at the sa ti, he was stunned by her words.

He had always unconditionally trusted Miaomiao, so much that when she initially asked him for a crippling drug for self-defense, he didn’t doubt her motives at all.

In his eyes, although Miaomiao was not very smart, she was an incredibly kind young lady. How could he possibly think that she would harm anyone?

But his mother’s words, for him, were like a wake-up call, leaving him unable to refute.

Yes, Miaomiao did have bodyguards around her – who could have the chance to hurt her?

And if even the bodyguards couldn’t handle those people, what use could one pill he provided have?

The more Qi Ming thought about it, the more confused he beca. He couldn’t believe that Miaomiao would use him like that.

Qi Baiyan and Qi Xiao, the father and son, were relatively calm. But when they looked into Qi Ming’s eyes, their gazes had lost their usual warmth.

"Qi Ming, it seems that you still trust Qi Miao more, don’t you?"

Qi Baiyan’s tone was much calr than Chu Peixian’s, but the deep disappointnt in his calmness made Qi Ming unable to ignore it.

Growing up, he had lived in a very happy and harmonious family.

His parents loved each other, their family was wealthy, and although his elder brother was not gentle, he had taken on the responsibility of the entire Qi family, letting him live a carefree life.

And he had an innocent and adorable younger sister, which made his life feel complete.

However, ever since Xia Yumo, his real sister, was found and brought back, the atmosphere in their family had changed, and so had his relationship with his parents and elder brother.

This intangible change was like a pain in his heart, especially the disappointed eyes of his parents and elder brother when they looked at him, which pained him even more.

This disappointnt made him afraid and fearful.

He knew what kind of person he was. Apart from hiding in the laboratory to study dicine, he was incapable of anything else, including basic social interactions.

If it weren’t for his identity as the Second Young Master of the Qi family and Qi Xiao’s younger brother, his life wouldn’t be as carefree as it was now.

But all of this had changed due to the arrival of Xia Yumo.

He had no feelings for Xia Yumo, the sister he had never lived with. To say that he had a natural blood bond with her was ridiculously laughable.

He didn’t know why his parents and elder brother could give so much love to soone they had never t, but could so easily send away a family mber they had lived with for thirty years.

He didn’t bla his parents, but he hated that woman who had disrupted the peace of the Qi family.

"Well then, you should leave."

Qi Baiyan waved his hand at him disappointingly and said, "I heard that you bought a house for Qi Miao. Great, since you like this so-called sister so much, go and live with her."

"Dad..."

Qi Ming still wanted to say sothing, but Qi Baiyan no longer looked at him. Instead, he gently appeased the furious and red-eyed Chu Peixian, and helped her stand up and go upstairs.

"Qi Ming, do you have any other thoughts about Qi Miao?"

Just as Qi Baiyan and his wife were about to go upstairs, Qi Xiao suddenly asked this question, making all of their faces, including Qi Ming’s, change.

The three of them were not fools and couldn’t misunderstand what Qi Xiao’s question implied.

Qi Ming just stood there with a red face and said nothing, while the faces of Mr. and Mrs. Qi Baiyan turned even uglier than before.
