Lu Moqing glanced tenderly at the mother and son in the backseat through the rearview mirror, his eyes gently drooping, and the corners of his lips imperceptibly curving into a warm smile.

Little Qiao had played all day and was exhausted. By the ti they arrived ho, he had already fallen asleep in the car.

As Qiao Xu carried him out of the car, Lu Moqing had already approached them. "Give the child to ," he said.

Qiao Xu stared at him and furrowed her brows. "Why haven’t you left yet?" she asked.

"Aren’t I on my way ho?"

Lu Moqing smiled faintly as he took Little Qiao from her.

"So, do you really want to get back together with ?"

This question had been discussed many tis before, and Qiao Xu herself was getting tired of it.

"I’ve answered this question many tis already," Lu Moqing replied while walking with the child towards the building entrance. Qiao Xu followed him, her brows still furrowed.

"Why?"

As they stepped into the elevator, with obvious agitation, Qiao Xu continued, "Eight years ago, you wanted to annul our engagent, it wasn’t out of love or willingness that you married seven years ago. So, why is it that you don’t want to divorce now?"

At the ntion of events eight years prior, Lu Moqing’s gentle expression turned a few degrees colder, and a slight resentnt flashed across his deep eyes.

They arrived at the top floor, and Lu Moqing, his face cold, exited the elevator. Qiao Xu caught up with him, and suddenly, he stopped and turned around, his gaze filled with hostility.

"I have my reasons for everything I do. You don’t need to ask so many questions!"

Qiao Xu couldn’t help but laugh at his self-righteousness. "You’re always appearing in my life, interfering with . Why can’t I ask?"

Lu Moqing sneered, the contempt in his eyes unmistakable. "Then consider it lingering affection."

Qiao Xu scoffed, "Lingering affection? I never knew I had any leftover feelings for President Lu."

She reached out, snatched Little Qiao back into her arms, walked into the house, and closed the door. She looked at Lu Moqing and saw that he didn’t intend to force his way in. However, the deep hatred in his eyes was puzzling to her.

Not giving it much thought, she said coldly, "I don’t know what you’re planning by not divorcing , but please stay away from us. I don’t want to be disturbed."

The holiday ended in the blink of an eye, with everyone returning to work one after another.

"President Qiao, sothing’s not right. You have to check online quickly!"

Qiao Xu’s secretary burst in, placing a tablet in front of her.
