The doctor gave Qiao Xu a few instructions before leaving.
Qiao Xu covered Yi Xin with a quilt and made sure her flushed face gradually eased. Then she left the room with relief.
"Xu Xu."
Lu Moqing had been waiting outside the door, and when he saw her coming out, he imdiately walked up to her. His usually composed face was now visibly nervous and uneasy.
"Yi Xin is fine. She just needs to have the dicine for a whole night," Qiao Xu said.
Lu Moqing nodded his head, not asking more about Yi Xin’s condition. Instead, he nervously looked at Qiao Xu’s face and tried to speak a few tis but didn’t dare to say anything.
Qiao Xu raised her eyes and glanced at him, asking irritably, "Why are you staring at like that?"
Lu Moqing pursed his thin lips and explained, "Xu Xu, what you saw when you entered the room... it’s not what you think."
"Oh? What do you think I thought?"
Qiao Xu asked him back.
Lu Moqing was at a loss for words.
"When I got off work, Yi Xin called to save her..."
He explained the whole incident to Qiao Xu without leaving out any details.
"Oh? You even carried her."
Qiao Xu said indifferently.
Lu Moqing’s scalp tingled as he quickly explained further, "The situation was quite special at that ti. She was walking too slowly, and I wanted to get her to the hospital as soon as possible, so..."
Qiao Xu nodded her head without saying anything.
"Xu Xu, believe , I didn’t have ti to react to Yi Xin just now... "
Seeing that Qiao Xu was only looking into the distance without saying anything or glancing at him, he began to feel more and more nervous.
"Xu Xu?"
He stretched out his hand and gently tugged on Qiao Xu’s hem, sowhat cautiously.
"Xu Xu, don’t just stay silent. You can scold or hit , just don’t stay quiet."
He had put in a great effort to win over his wife back in the first place. If she left because of such a cliched misunderstanding, he would really feel wronged.
Qiao Xu gave him a cold stare and said, "What do you want to say?"
"Say anything."
Lu Moqing spoke softly.
Qiao Xu only gave a cold hum, not saying anything at all.
Just when Lu Moqing thought that Qiao Xu didn’t want to deal with him and felt incredibly anxious and disappointed, she suddenly said, "I’m jealous."
Lu Moqing was stunned, and then his face showed so joy.
By directly telling him that, it ant she wasn’t truly angry with him.
With this realization, the joy in Lu Moqing’s eyes grew even more. He stepped forward to hug her, and Qiao Xu casually struggled a bit but didn’t avoid his embrace, just giving a proud and aloof cold hum.
Lu Moqing held her from behind, whispered into her ear:
"I’m very happy that you’re jealous because of , but I really have nothing going on with Yi Xin. She’s like a distant younger sister to and lives in our house as a guest. She has no other family here, so if anything happens to her, I would have to explain it to Aunt Yi Shu."
Qiao Xu gave a hum but didn’t say anything.
"When she called for help, it was urgent, and I had to save her as soon as possible without considering anything else."
As he spoke, he paused, his tone becoming clearly more nervous, and his choice of words more cautious.
"As for what you saw in the ward... Yi Xin was drugged and not clear-headed at that mont. She doesn’t even know what she did."
