The north wind howled past the window. May the years be peaceful, and may lovers be together forever.

When Naomi Shaw woke, she heard a soft voice speaking from above. She blearily opened her eyes to see him leaning against sothing, talking on the phone. As her mind cleared, she realized he was ordering food.

However, watching him so seriously confirming their order, a stark contrast to the wicked way he’d tornted her earlier, made Naomi want to play a trick on him. He shot her a glare.

Since she’d already started it, there was no way Julian Donovan was going to let her off the hook. He kept the phone pressed to his ear with one hand, continuing to give his instructions. Naomi struggled frantically, hissing in a low voice, "Let go!"

He completely ignored her. Of course, she knew exactly what he was doing, and she was utterly mortified. Blushing, she glared at him, silently demanding he stop, but he remained unfazed.

Julian Donovan finished giving his order and tossed the phone aside. She gave an uncomfortable squirm.

He looked up at her with a triumphant smile. "Naomi, this is what you call playing with fire and getting burned!"

The weather had cleared by the next morning. When Naomi Shaw pulled open the curtains, her eyes were t with a dazzling sheet of white. The heavy snow from the night before had blanketed the entire world outside.

She exclaid in delight, "It’s so beautiful!"

They were staying in the suburbs, with no tall buildings around aside from a few hot spring resorts. The view from their window was a vast, magnificent, and unobstructed expanse of white. She could even see the distant, snow-capped mountain range.

Julian Donovan ca up behind her and wrapped her in his arms. "Want to go for a walk?"

"Of course!"

After freshening up, they both threw on their coats, held hands, and stepped outside. The morning air was already crisp, but now, after the heavy snow had filtered the pollution, each breath was piercingly cold and filled with a clean, fresh scent. Naomi happily linked her arm through Julian’s, walking along the path in front of the hotel lobby, which was buried under a thick layer of snow.

Seeing her so delighted, like a little kid, Julian Donovan couldn’t help but smile too. "The snow makes you this happy, huh?"

’She really was so easy to please. A simple snowy landscape was enough to bring out that brilliant smile.’

"Of course!"

Naomi answered with a laugh. She let go of his arm, bent down, and playfully scooped up a handful of snow. After tossing it at him, she turned and ran.
