"Okay..."

Joy nodded sensibly, and only then did Jean Coleman leave, albeit reluctantly. Even though she had lost the man she loved most when she was young, having such an adorable and well-behaved grandson and granddaughter with her in her later years made her feel that she had no regrets in this life.

Jean Coleman’s words sent a pang of sadness through Naomi Shaw’s heart. Perhaps Jean had only said it out of fondness for her, but it filled Naomi with imnse guilt. If not for all that had happened, she would be calling Jean "Mom" as a matter of course right now. If not for all that had happened, they would be a whole, complete family.

They were reunited now, but their reunion wasn’t perfect.

The single loose end was her.

If she just agreed to be with Julian Donovan, everyone would have their perfect ending. But she didn’t want to give in so easily, which ant everyone was destined to be tornted by her decision.

After saying goodbye to Joy, Jean Coleman left the hospital room. Julian Donovan had already arranged for a driver to wait at the main entrance. But Naomi Shaw remained standing there, her mind a whirlwind of thoughts. Seeing her inner turmoil, Julian walked over, wrapped an arm around her shoulder, and comforted her softly, "Didn’t we say we’d start dating seriously today? Don’t feel pressured. If you want to... return , I’ll accept it."

’What good would it do to domineeringly forbid her from returning ?’ In the end, he was utterly powerless against her.

Naomi Shaw glanced at him but said nothing more. She walked over to Joy, intending to take the congee to feed her, but Julian, who had followed her, took it instead. "Let ."

She had no choice but to step aside and watch as Julian fed Joy. It reminded her of what Willow Sumrs had once said about him being a "super dad." ’He really is a super dad now,’ she thought. ’I could totally leave both kids with him and go out to chat and eat with my friends. He’d definitely take better care of them than I would.’

’It’s a good thing Joy isn’t the spoiled type, or who knows how he would’ve doted on her.’

While Julian was feeding Joy breakfast, Naomi grew bored and turned on the TV. The most explosive story on was about the famous actress Juliet Jennings. She glanced at Julian, who was focused on feeding Joy, and changed the channel. She didn’t want her good mood to be ruined by that woman.

He took the remote from her hand and switched back to the previous channel, saying calmly, "What’s wrong with so entertainnt news?"

She rembered he disliked this kind of celebrity gossip; he preferred the finance channel.

She was still wondering why he was acting so strangely today when she saw what the report on Juliet Jennings was about and suddenly understood. The news had exposed a recording of Juliet Jennings plus a scandalous photo. In the recording, Juliet personally admitted to framing soone. The glamorous and bewitching starlet was actually a venomous viper—that alone was enough to end her career, not to ntion the scandalous photo.

The report said that Juliet Jennings had been shot and wounded by an unknown assailant and rushed to the hospital for ergency treatnt yesterday. After she was stabilized, she learned that her vile deeds had been exposed, causing her to have a complete ntal breakdown. She was imdiately transferred to a psychiatric hospital.

Naomi Shaw stared at the news report in astonishnt. When it ntioned Juliet Jennings admitting to "those things," Naomi knew it was referring to her. She truly hadn’t expected Juliet to have sched against her so many tis. Twice, she had nearly lost her children because of her—first Dylan, and now Joy.

She didn’t know what great fortune she had accumulated in a past life to have protected her two children, allowing them to survive one attack after another. This punishnt was the price Juliet Jennings had to pay for her evil actions.

And then there was the incident with the intimate photos of him and Juliet Jennings. It seed now that she had misunderstood him. But Sean Donovan was the one who had first shown her those photos. How did Sean have them? Could Juliet Jennings have so connection to him? But how could Sean Donovan possibly be connected to Juliet Jennings?

’It’s so chaotic!’

Her head starting to ache, she raised a hand to rub her forehead. She really didn’t want to suspect Sean Donovan of being involved in sothing like this... Seeing her troubled expression, Julian Donovan quickly walked over and asked, "What’s wrong?"

She looked up at him and finally shook her head gently. "It’s nothing..."

With Juliet Jennings’s fate now sealed, she decided not to tell him about that scene she had once witnessed. ’He must feel awful, knowing he once loved such a despicable woman,’ she thought.
