Chapter 293: THE POWER OF THE ARIA’S
We settled in the hotel hours later and Sayuri kept a small smile on her lips as she sat on the balcony and admired the views at the peak of Mount Chugach.
" Lobo, have you ever trekked up the mountain ?" She asked as sipped a glass of hot chocolate filled with marshmallows. Her feet were bare and she looked so at ho that a pang of regret filled my heart.
" Yes, I have. The glaciers are really beautiful. I know that you would love them" I stated.
She tilted her head and said, " Why are you regretful?" Sayuri was good at reading emotions.
" I wish I had t you sooner. " I whispered and leaned back on the chair and stared out into the mountains.
"It was the right ti, " She explained.
" Mmh" I nodded.
Sayuri took my hand and held it as we watched the sun disappear in the mountain peaks and the twilight skies’ beauty rose.
" I want to spend ti here Lobo" She stated firmly.
" I will make it happen for you, ’’ I responded. " But it might take a while. People of Chugach do hold grudges. "
" I could tell by the way they glared at you. But you are a formidable Alpha and Aria would never let anyone bully you. " Sayuri laughed.
" What about you? " I tilted my head and asked her.
She placed the cup on the table before her and then slithered herself into my lap and said " Only I can bully you"
" Are you sure ?" I growled into her neck and she burst out laughing.
" Lobo, I worry about Zineb" She whispered and bit her lips. " I am glad that Aurora comforted her but there is still so much sadness within her.
" Yes. I could feel it even as we saved Lovita. Zaria, her wolf, is the only thing keeping Zineb happy. I know that Isamu plays a part but she will need to cheer herself up and let go"
" Okay. " Sayuri nodded.
" Did you have sothing in mind?" I asked.
"Yes. I would like to try and heal her, " Sayuri stated.
" Can you?" I rubbed her shoulder affectionately.
" Yes I can, " Sayuri nodded. " But she has to agree to it. Her mind is in turmoil and the evil wolf bond must have been painful for her. "
" Her mind is not strong because she has demons of the past and that is why she is in this state. If you can help her Sayuri, I will forever be grateful" I spoke up and held her neck in place.
" Lobo, I will do it because she is my sister and I want the best for her " Sayuri leaned down and pressed her lips to mine. We kissed slowly and passionately, savoring each mont until a knock at the hotel room door interrupted us.
" Should I just snap the person’s head?" I growled as Zineb got off my lap and pulled
up. I walked to the door snapped it open and found Lovita standing behind it. He stood tall as I analyzed him and realized we resembled each other and the only difference was the color of his eyes.
" Hi. I wanted to have a word with you if you don’t mind?" Lovita raised his chin and stood adamant.
" He does not mind, " Sayuri said as she picked up my jacket and handed it to . " Go"
I donned the jacket and then pressed a kiss on Sayuri’s temple and said " I will be back shortly"
I closed the door of the hotel room and followed Lovita. We arrived at the hotel VIP guest area and he walked in. The place was empty but there were two tables for a cup of coffee.
He sat down and raised his hand to indicate that I should have a seat.
" You are so well-behaved. Your mother must be proud" I spoke up
" She is a nag," Lovita laughed out loud.
" You are lucky to have her. " I pointed out.
" I know that very well that is why I treasure her the most. Plus my grandmother is still alive. You can imagine two nagging old won" Lovita huffed.
" You inherit your mother’s powers?" I observed.
"Yes. But My wolf seems to rely more on the Aria blood and I guess that is why I was comatose for a while" Lovita served the coffee and then picked up his cup and sat back. I watched him sip the coffee and worry was laced in his face.
" What do you need? " I went straight to the point without touching the coffee.
" I worry about the Aria madness. Do you know that I was almost dragged into it? We need a solution that gets rid of this Wolfe bond and it does not trickle down to our children ’’ Lovita stated.
" How will you bear pups ?" My eyebrows furrowed.
" Tharn is an oga. ’’ He ramd his neck in embarrassnt and placed the cup on the table.
" What? That is news to " I responded with the mory of how Then burst into tears the minute Lovita woke up.
" Lucian was the one who sensed his Oga, " Lovita added.
" So much has happened since I left Chugach" I stated.
" Yes. But the terms at which you ca back are important" Lovita stated firmly.
" So how do you suggest we get rid of the Wolfe bond?" I finally picked up the cup of coffee and sipped from it.
" Steve and Seth have to die" Lovita eyes blazed as he spoke.
I was silent for a while letting his words sink in and then my mind wondered where Lucian and Conri were. The Alpha of the pack should have been in the KODA council offices. But he was missing in action hence they had already left in search of Steve and Seth.
" Do you an that these two will not agree to get rid of the Wolfe bond and it’s best if they die?" I raised one eyebrow.
" You are correct," Lovita nodded.
" What does Conri think? " My eyes bore at him.
Lovita was quiet for a mont before he answered " You seem to know that Conri went in search of them"
" He is missing in action and hence as an Alpha, his top priority is the safety of the pack. He will be out hunting for Seth and Steve" I pointed out.
" Yes," Lovita nodded. " Conri is after all the King of Wolves. "
" Nobody is refuting that fact" I chuckled.
" Why does everyone think that you are hostile? I want us to be family. Ma seems sad about Zineb and says that she needs healing. I hate what our Pa did to us and wish for it to end " Lovita seethed.
" It will take so ti," I muttered.
" No matter how long it takes, I want us to be family, " Lovita adamantly repeated.
I walked back to the hotel room deep in thought and then heard Hunter’s voice along the corridor " You have gotten sloppy"
My step faltered and I turned around and he was leaning on the corridor looking like he owned the place.
" You have aged. I can see white hair on your temple" I raised my hand and tapped my temple.
"Of course. I am not young anymore " He laughed. " Walk with
" He tilted his head and turned to leave.
" Why is everyone all over
?" I muttered but followed Hunter who shook his head at my words.
Once we got out of the hotel room, the night air hit my nose and I welcod the cold from the snow that was falling. We walked a distance and ended up in a small bar on the corner of the street. When I walked in the mbers of the pack all stared at
in shock and the loud cheers and murmurs quieted down.
" Have they seen a ghost? " I growled and walked to the far end of the bar as Hunter got the drinks.
" Carry on " Hunter spoke up as he walked over to sit with .
" Is that Lovita or Lobo?" one of the pack mbers whispered but his voice was so loud because of the hushed noise in the bar.
" Mind your own business " Hunter growled at them and they all went to the bank to drink and chat even though a few of them still stole glances at us.
I picked up the bottle and drank from it, ignoring the glass that Hunter had placed before .
" What do you want, Hunter? " My eyes bore at him.
" I have not forgiven what you did to
" He retorted.
" I don’t expect it. So why am I here ?" I demanded.
" Thank you for your help. Even though you did not have to do it, you love the Golden shifter pack and you protected it from harm. But Loraine will send thousands of wolves and it will be a massacre on our hands. I would urge you to stay back for a while and we could use your help" He explained.
" You suspect that Steve and Seth are headed to Chugach?" I leaned forward.
"It’s just a hunch " Hunter whispered.
" Hunch? " I pressed on and placed the bottle on the table.
The door of the bar opened, and Tala, Benjamin, and Everest walked in. They all headed to our table pulled chairs and sat down uninvited.
" Are we having a party ?" I snickered.
" I bet Hunter has told you about our plan ?" Everest was the first to speak up as Benjamin’s face looked displeased.
" He told
that you need my help" I arrogantly spoke up.
" A cheater never changes its spots" Tala stated.
" You are the wisest amongst all of them" I responded to Talas as I picked up the bottle of beer and drank from it.
" A woman changes a man " Everest stated as his eyes bore at
and remained silent as our eyes clashed. " And from what I saw, Sayuri is a wonderful being. You are lucky to have her"
" Are you using her to threaten
to help you ?" I raised one eyebrow.
"No. We need your help nevertheless " Everest stated.
" Fuck " I cursed and looked away.
" Golden shifter pack must remain safe " Hunter stated.
" I am no longer your Alpha " I growled and the rumble was so loud that it shook the table and Tala, Everest and Benjamin’s eyes widened in shock at the power that I released.
