Chapter 27: FREKI MANSION
LUCIAN’S POV
The shareholders ambushed
the next day at the office as they all arrived at the sa ti.
"Please have a seat," I instructed, as they all walked to sit on the two office couches. I pulled the chair from the desk and sat down facing them. Anisha and Zeeb joined in the eting and stood by the office window, watching.
"To what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?" I spoke up before any of them could speak.
"Lucian, why would you ruin your future by marrying that murderer? "One of the old female shareholders asked.
"Ruin and murderer are words I will not let anyone use in order to describe my husband-to-be," I asserted. Wide eyes, jaw drops and shock were all the emotions and actions of each shareholder.
"I agreed to this marriage with a sound mind. They did not coerce . I will marry Conri Dolf’
"What about the company’s reputation?" Another exclaid.
"Has there been any impact after the announcent? Our share price rose. We have Elder Zaya, Raph Isla, and Benjamin willing to invest in the Due Corporation," Anisha announced.
"What? Elder Zaya?" One elder gasped, "She owns the lands with the Nephrite jade gemstone’
"Yes," Anisha nodded. " Ralph Isla owns the land with the Quartz crystal gems while Benjamin’s lands contain Obsidian gems.
I watched all their faces as they realized that marrying Conri Dolf would be beneficial for the company.
"Forgive us, Lucian, for rushing to criticize you without having proper information. "
"As for Conri Dolf, his bank accounts and assets were frozen. By marrying him, I will gain all these assets and the land he owns is full of gold. Who is benefitting more from this arranged marriage.?"
The shocking look on their faces was comical.
" I am the one gaining from this marriage. And I would appreciate it if you dropped the na murderer and rogue while you address him " I snapped.
After that, they all apologized and left. Anisha laughed while Zeeb just shook his head in disbelief.

"Sir, you have guests," the maid announced at the door of my study at the Freki mansion as I buried myself in work the next day.
"What?" I spoke up, distracted by the docunts on my laptop.
"Sir" The maid interrupted my thoughts" Should I let them in?"
"Yes, please" I stood up, closed the laptop, and cleared the office table. I walked into the living room just as Elder Zaya and Anisha walked in.
"Lucian, I am sorry to badge into your ho," she bead while admiring the whole decor of the living room.
"Welco Godmother," I responded, and her steps faltered. I watched as her eyes watered and she moved to embrace " You are such a breath of fresh air Lucian"
I laughed and responded, "We shall be family soon. I can call you Godmother, right ?"
"Yes, yes," she responded happily.
I took her arm and pulled her over to the couch, and she sat down. I turned to Anisha "Why are you standing at the door like a stranger sister" She blushed in turn and walked over to sit on the opposite couch.
Elder Zaya smiled happily, and the maid walked in carrying a tray of tea, and placing it on the table. "Thank you, "Elder Zaya responded with politeness, making the maid smile and leave the living room.
"Did we interrupt your work? The maid said you were in the office," Elder Zaya asked.
"Just catching up on a few emails. Nothing important," I explained. Anisha stood up poured three cups of tea and served us.
"I am here to ask you a few things and plan for the engagent. "She announced.
I nodded at her. "Go ahead "
"Eliana Due stated in the council eting that there is sothing Conri is keeping in the woods. Is that true?" Her eyes bore at .
"Yes"
She gasped and closed her eyes. " Is it dangerous "
"Yes"
"How did you get in and out of the woods? He said that you got to the cabin because you ant him no harm," she reported.
"Over the years, Hunter has been sending the pack enforces and hunters to kill Conri. I suspect he must have stumbled on the creature when he went into the woods. Godmother, Conri is not a weak wolf. He is a full Alpha. The creature must have realized that, and they have been coexisting peacefully. That is my guess"
"Did you see it? " Anisha gasped.
"My wolf felt its presence. ’ I explained.
"I don’t want my godson to be accused of harboring a creature. Lobo can create a whole dangerous situation just to suit his needs. "
"I will speak to Conri about this and co up with a solution. "
"Thank you, Lucian"
"What was the other matter?" I pressed on.
She looked at Anisha and blushed.
"I am going to check out the Mansion" Anisha announced and disappeared into the kitchen.
"I don’t know how to say this without sounding corny, but I need you to seduce my Godson Conri and make him yours."
" Godmother, you always manage to surprise " I looked away in embarrassnt as I rubbed the back of my neck.
"I am serious. I need him glued to you for the rest of his life. My health is deteriorating and I am afraid after ten years I cannot protect him.
"You are sick?" I took her frail hands in mine. "Why did you not tell ?"
"Old age has caught up with , Lucian. And the only thing I want is to see Conri happy"
"I will do my best, Godmother. "I vowed.
She patted my hand. " I don’t doubt it, but it will not be easy. I know Conri has feelings for you or else he would not agree to this marriage"
Blushing, I shook my head and added, "I really like him"
"That’s a dutiful child, and it warms my heart," Elder Zaya’s eyes sparkled.
Anisha walked in at that mont and she marched over. "Lucian, are you crazy? You are getting married and you have not prepared for it.? "
"What is there to prepare? "I wondered out loud.
