Rocky slashed a crab in half and dodged another assault from the nearby crabs. Then he summoned the runes to check his current points.

[300 days – Day 1: 00:10 remaining.]

Currents points: 850 points

Rocky frowned in annoyance.

’’I must hurry.’’

He continued rushing forward, his longsword aid at the horde of crabs. One of the crabs swung its steel pincer at Rocky, but thanks to the reflexes he had honed through countless battles, he easily dodged it.

He dove down between the steel pincer and the ground. At the sa ti, he twisted his back and delivered a precise slash at the joint of the pincer. A groan rang out as the sharp blade cut through the chitin shell and into the flesh inside.

With his final move, Rocky thrust his gauntleted hand into its maw, releasing flas that burned its organs into a ss of charred flesh.

His breath ca out fast and uneven as he struggled to stand firmly on his feet. Rocky blinked nonstop, wiping the sweat from his brow.

After steadying his vision, he dashed toward the monsters again.

Even though the remaining ti was running out, he wasn’t in a hurry. Everything was still under his control... until he suddenly scowled at the sight of a gigantic monster.

It was still a crab, but Rocky could clearly see how different it was from the others.

Rocky used the Appraisal skill from the system.

’’Damnation.’’ Rocky glanced at Alain and shouted a warning.

’’Don’t fight anyone. Get out of here right now.’’

Alain shouted back.

’’What about you?’’

Rocky chuckled.

’’That bastard belongs to .’’

(If I kill this monster, my points will be enough.)

The lower-ranked crabs began to split up and ford a circle around the area. It seed they didn’t want anyone interfering with their boss’s fight.

And they believed their boss could easily kill Rocky, so they didn’t step in to help the gigantic crab—at least not unless sothing went wrong.

Rocky’s muscles began to bulge, even making the armor on him crack under the strain.

Soon, a gigantic beast stood where Rocky had been. Resting the longsword on his shoulder, Rocky chuckled as if mocking the crab.

For so reason, the crab was truly provoked by that cheap trick. It lunged forward, its pincer ready to tear Rocky apart.

Bang!

The sound of impact rang across the area as Rocky’s longsword clashed against the crab’s massive pincer.

For a mont, deep lines ford on his forehead when he realized his longsword couldn’t withstand the crushing force of the pincer.

The blade was already cracking. At this rate, his weapon would be destroyed.

(Tch. If that pincer hits , my fate will look just like my sword right now.)

Rocky snarled, revealing his long teeth. He let go of the longsword and leapt into the air, landing hard on the crab’s carapace.

He latched onto it with his right claw while his left claw summoned a knife. Then he stabbed down relentlessly as the crab struggled to grab him.

Yet it couldn’t.

How ironic. Its pincers were too short.

A fatal weakness.

Rocky blinded the crab, making it shriek in pain. And in the next mont, it swallowed its pride and called for its underlings’ help.

A hundred crabs rushed forward, ready to aid their king.

(Finally, I found the gap in the carapace.)

Rocky summoned another longsword and gripped it tightly, preparing for the final strike.

Gritting his teeth like a madman, he drove the blade down from its back all the way through to the underside.

’’I should get out of here.’’

Rocky shifted into another form. His wings began to appear as he lifted into midair.

Just like that, Rocky’s first day ca to an end.

After seeing Alina, Rocky landed and talked about a few things before finding a shelter to rest.

Six hours went by.

Rocky and Alina woke up. And the first thing they wanted to do wasn’t fight with monsters, but eat and drink.

Rocky had fought almost all night yesterday, so a caloric deficit was inevitable.

Each of them had a mission.

Rocky returned to the battlefield, where he had slaughtered the crabs, and carried one corpse back to the shelter. anwhile, Alina went to find fresh water they could drink—not seawater.

Rocky chewed the fresh crab at so deliciously that he pried it out from the steel shell before. At the sa ti, he instinctively glanced at Alina, who was nibbling the crab at like a sweet rabbit.

(So, she sewed up her clothes.)

For a mont, he felt a bit regretful, but he quickly shook it off to regain his calm.

He picked up a bark-covered bottle and frowned.

’’I didn’t think you had such skill. You’re quite the craftswoman.’’

Alina blinked for a mont and said,

’’Most of the things in my hotown are crafted from plants. So of course, I had to learn sothing.’’

Rocky smirked.

’’I knew it. Choosing you for my team wasn’t a wrong decision.’’

Alina sighed sadly.

’’At least I want to be a little useful. You already did everything.’’

Rocky clicked his tongue.

’’Don’t belittle yourself. Each of us has a different mission. No one’s best at everything.’’

Seeing Alina still in a bad mood, Rocky just sighed.

(It seems she’s the type of person with low confidence.)

He shrugged and drank so water before summoning the ranking board.
