Rocky slowly slowed his wings and shifted back to his normal form. At the sa ti, he released the elf from his talons, causing her to fall to the ground and stumble several tis.

Rocky landed safely and glanced at the female elf, who was dressed in ragged clothes.

So torn spots had been stitched up neatly, yet a few gaps still remained, revealing her pale skin—and certain curves of her body... especially her chest, which was quite developed for her age.

It made Rocky blush. Well, after all, he was still a boy... and a virgin.

The female elf, her face tense, slowly stepped back while looking at Rocky. She hadn’t expected to be saved by soone who was a human.

Rocky cleared his voice.

"I’m not your mother, lady... And I think you really need to change that outfit. It’ll cause trouble next ti if you run into a pervert instead of a gentleman like ."

At that mont, the female elf finally noticed the torn spot on her clothes—the result of Rocky’s sharp talons. She blushed and quickly covered her body with her own hands, growling like a cornered cat. But then her eyes began to well up as she rembered the rumors.

Humans were hateful, perverted beings.

"Humans... What are you going to do to ?... Don’t tell ... You’ll..."

Before the female elf could finish any obscene words, her beast suddenly dashed toward Rocky as if he were its own master.

Rocky slowly bowed his head and petted the raven.

He touched its night-dark feathers, yet they felt hazy, almost like smoke. Then, he noticed its sickly body, with a few ribs showing through its chest.

It seed like it had been starving for many days.

"Pitiful..." Rocky muttered as he gave the raven so pills to fight off the hunger and triggered the system’s appraisal skill.

Race: Raven of Ill On

Level: 88

Species Rank: Calamity

Strength: 50

Constitution: 67

Mana: 1300

Speed: 30

Unique Skill: On of Death,

His pupils widened when he saw its status.

He was speechless.

This beast was a bizarre species not like Rocky’s, the kind that possessed overwhelming stats for battle. Instead, this raven’s stats looked more like those of a healer beast.

(It’s not a beast ant for fighting... It’s a beast with a unique ability among all beasts, even much rarer than healer beasts. It might even be on par with my big sister’s.)

And On of Death? He had no information about it, but from what he understood, it was a skill capable of seeing the future — though not a good one.

A death.

The raven slightly tilted its head before walking back to its master.

The female elf petted her raven for a while and sneakily glanced at Rocky. She no longer feared him. She could tell, just from her beast’s reaction.

Elves always had a huge affinity with their beasts. A unique innate skill allowed them to ta and nurture beast spirits easily, without accumulating knowledge over many years.

That explained how the female elf could raise her beast from the black zone to a calamity species rank at such a level — sothing nearly impossible for other races.

Of course, Rocky was an exception.

Rocky blinked several tis before speaking up.

"Let’s form a team."

The female elf frowned and asked suspiciously,

"Really?"

...

"Yes." Rocky nodded.

...

"But I must refuse. My beast tells you’re a good person... but you don’t understand what you’re trying to do. My beast and I are a bad on." She said in a sad voice, as if it were a curse.

"I don’t mind." Rocky shrugged indifferently.

The female elf frowned.

"Are you dumb? You could die. Why would you do that? I refuse." She gritted her teeth in anger.

At that mont, she didn’t understand why she was acting so angrily. Perhaps... she just didn’t want soone to die for her again.

She was an outcast. And maybe she deserved to be.

Rocky frowned in annoyance.

"Tch. Don’t piss off. That’s how you treat your savior?"

But right then, the female elf began to shiver and bowed her head to avoid Rocky’s glare.

She didn’t say anything, only clinging to the hem of her shirt in fear.

Rocky raised an eyebrow in surprise, then let out a sigh. It seed the elf would tremble the mont he showed any anger.

She had developed a ntal illness1 from years of bullying — maybe even worse than that. And to end up like this, she must have endured sothing far beyond ordinary cruelty.

It hadn’t just been a few years of bullying.

He sighed and spoke more gently. He didn’t want to scare her again.

"Lady... follow . From now on, you’re my partner. There’s no need to worry about a stranger like . If I die... then so be it."

10 minutes later.

After the female elf cald down, Rocky approached her and said,

"My na is Rocky Stephens."

The female elf still didn’t dare to look at him directly. She just hugged her raven and replied coldly,

"Alina Hill."

Rocky nodded and glanced at her beast. The raven in Alina’s embrace tilted its head in confusion.

"What kind of skill is that?... You call yourself a bad on, so there must be a reason."

Alina hesitated for a mont before speaking.

"First, I want to thank you... but I hope you won’t regret it."

She looked down at her beast and continued.

"I can see the future of anyone who stays close to for a short ti. I can’t control it. My skill triggers automatically."

"However, the future I see is never good. It’s always bad. Almost everyone who got close to has already died because of my skill. A cursed skill."

Suddenly, Alina fell into a hollow state. Her eyes rolled back and her whole body convulsed.

It only lasted ten seconds.

Rocky quickly rushed forward and caught her before she collapsed. He frowned as Alina began to tremble, tears welling up.

She choked out in a broken voice,

"I saw it... You lost all your points... you’re going to die."

She is ; I’m not as heavy as her, but I’m sure of it.
