Rocky let out a breath and scratched the back of his head. Thinking about Alina’s words, he just nodded.

’’Alright.’’

As ti went by, they finally arrived at Scarlet’s outpost.

Rocky stood by the gate of the outpost while Paul talked with the soldiers there to sort out the matter about supplies.

Soon, Paul headed over to Rocky. He complained in a low, annoyed voice.

’’You should’ve been the one to do that, not . You’re already a squad leader now, right?’’

Rocky picked his nose while answering.

’’And isn’t a squad leader supposed to arrange missions for juniors?’’

Paul frowned before waving his hand.

’’Whatever...Now go to the headquarters and et the great commander. I can’t do it for you since it’s beyond my mission.’’

Worried, Rocky headed to the headquarters under the guidance of a soldier. Each of his steps carried uncertainty.

His heartbeat was uneven.

A few beads of sweat ran down his forehead.

Even the soldier beside Rocky felt sothing strange from his reaction.

’’Sir, are you fine?’’

Rocky waved his hand and said.

’’I’m okay, just mind your business.’’

Bobby and Matt stood on Rocky’s shoulders, just comforting their master with slight pats, the sa way Rocky patted them.

Soon, Rocky stood in front of the door. His eyes were filled with hesitation and indecision.

’’The great commander is inside. I’ll take my leave now.’’

After two minutes, Rocky gritted his teeth and opened the door.

He stepped inside but didn’t see anyone. A mont later, a voice ca from a nearby room.

Speechless, Rocky walked to the center of the room. Then he slowly sat down on a chair, waiting restlessly.

Scarlet slowly opened the door and stepped into the main room, holding a stack of papers in her hand.

Her eyes were focused on the contents, and she spoke in a cold voice.

’’Luckily for you, the supplies aren’t lacking.’’

She didn’t even give Rocky a glance, just kept focusing on the papers the soldiers had gathered after checking the supplies.

The next mont, she slowly lifted her eyes toward Rocky—and froze. Her eyes widened as the stack of papers slipped from her hands and fell.

Rocky also froze as he looked at Scarlet. He never imagined she would end up like this.

Her face was still as beautiful as ever, but the dark circles under her eyes showed she hadn’t been sleeping properly.

Her hair was completely ssy, as if she hadn’t taken care of it for days. Her clothes weren’t as neat as before. He could see a hint of her cleavage as her shirt was slightly open.

His heart shattered at the sight of her. He just stood there, frozen, not knowing what to say. anwhile, his beasts jumped off his shoulders and ran toward the red dragon and the demon tree.

They began to greet each other as if they were friends who had been separated for a long ti. The red dragon still kept a cold attitude, but this ti, she showed a bit of friendliness to Rocky’s beasts.

They totally ignored Rocky and Scarlet. After all, they didn’t understand what complicated human love was.

For a few seconds, Scarlet kept her suspicion, but after seeing her beasts greeting Rocky’s beasts happily, she finally believed that that person was not a fake.

Her knees shivered and gave out.

She gazed at Rocky with wet, red eyes while groaning weakly.

’’R-Rocky... I-Is it really you?’’

At this mont, Rocky snapped out of his frozen state. He shook his head several tis before quickly heading over to her.

Rocky gently held her up, feeling her trembling through the contact. He lingered for a mont, staring at her crying face, as if waiting for sothing.

There was sothing stirring in his heart at this mont.

He felt a sharp, biting pain in his veins as he saw her sad expression.

An instinct erged within him. It reminded him that he had to protect Scarlet.

Rocky gently wiped away her tears while saying softly.

’’It’s ... I’m back.’’

Scarlet trembled even more after hearing that. Her tears flowed even harder as she tried to hug him, but it wasn’t useful.

’’Don’t leave again.’’

Rocky realized her intention and simply pulled her into a warm embrace, patting her head, trying to comfort her.

’’I promise.’’

Rocky picked her up like a prince carrying a princes, and glanced around before heading to a room with a bed for her to lie on.

A few minutes later, he gently put her on the bed, and then realized he couldn’t pull away since she was already clinging to him tightly.

’’You promised.’’

He just sighed and lay down with her while still hugging her. Both of them shared their warmth with each other.

Scarlet buried her face in Rocky’s chest while sniffing evenly, and Rocky simply patted her back lightly.

’’I’m here... I’ll never leave you.’’

Both of them had a lot of things to ask, but for so reason, they just wanted to enjoy the mont a little longer.

At so point, Scarlet slowly lifted her red eyes, staring into Rocky’s.

They just looked at each other... until the distance between them slowly closed at so point they didn’t even realize, as instinct took over.

At first, their lips touched. Then, they closed their eyes, and their tongues intertwined tightly.

She held him even tighter, her tongue moving and clinging to his. She kept him locked in the kiss, even pressing him down onto the bed.

20 minutes later, Rocky’s face was still flushed as he held Scarlet tightly.

Rocky tried to push her away, trying to end their seemingly endless kiss, and then... finally, Scarlet let him go. She gasped for breath, and the saliva they had shared dripped from her lips down onto Rocky’s chest.

Rocky panted softly as he stared at Scarlet’s delicate, sharp face.

Scarlet just stared at him with strange eyes before doing sothing Rocky never expected.
