Gorin jumped into the air and slashed down with his sword, but the golem easily took the attack, leaving only a few centiters deep cut on it. The golem grabbed Gorin and hurled him at a tree. He broke through the tree and rolled for a few ters.

The beating was finally getting to Gorin. He found it difficult to get to his feet, but the golem was already set to defeat him. There was no rcy or wasting of ti—the golem charged in again.

Gorin struggled to his feet. He dragged his sword, about to continue the fight, but then he saw the bird in the sky—the sa bird that had led them. The bird let out a cry.

Gorin had a reluctant look on his face, but regardless, he stomped his foot on the ground, causing a massive wall of earth to rise between him and the golem. He then turned and ran deeper into the forest.

The stone golem rushed through the wall, breaking through it and chasing after Gorin. It kept chasing without relenting until it went beyond the scope of Aric’s control and turned into a pile of rubble, allowing Gorin to get away.

Imdiately, Aric felt that he lost control of the stone golem. He quickly put together that Gorin must have escaped.

He didn’t want sothing like this to happen, but it already had, and he could not do anything about it. If he gave chase, there might be an ambush waiting for him. It was not a risk worth taking.

"Sigh, Gorin would have made a very fine addition to our force," Aric said. He knelt beside Ariel with her head on his lap. He watched her closely, looking at her and trying to find out what that whole thing was about.

"It seems it has co to an end." Suddenly, Pentharis walked up to Aric and said.

"You guys were watching?" Aric asked.

"Everything—the whole battle and all. Things didn’t go as we planned at all," Pentharis said.

"Yeah, and the reason is lying across the most unconscious now. Head over there and take the humans there—also, those that are still alive—take all of them and tie them inside the camp," Aric said. He got up and carried Ariel in a princess carry.

"What about the goblins in the moat?" Pentharis asked.

"We will have the goblins take out the crystals from the backs of the goblins. You and the rest should help them out so that it goes smoothly.

If possible, make long connective chains and have all of them in it. We can’t be sure that all of them are truly being controlled—so might actually be doing it of their own free will," Aric said and walked toward the gate with Ariel.

He walked in and headed straight for the main house. He placed her on the floor in the sitting room and sat down beside her.

He wondered about what happened to her—she had lost control entirely. After a few minutes, Ariel coughed, and her eyes slowly opened. She groaned as she slowly looked around, only to see Aric staring at her.

She was shocked, but she cald herself imdiately. She took a deep breath and looked at him. "As much as I like you looking at , I would like to know what’s wrong," she said.

Aric moved a little, giving her space to sit up. She sat down and faced him. He stared at her closely, as if trying to figure sothing out.

"What happened?" she asked.

"You can’t recall?" he asked her.

"Recall what?" she asked in response.

"Purple eyes and flas? None of that rings a bell?" Aric asked.

Imdiately, she heard that, she panicked. "I didn’t kill anyone, did I? Please tell I didn’t do sothing horrible," she said.

"Well, you did kill multiple of those n in a raging frenzy. You were different—vastly stronger and faster. I could barely stop you.

It was like you were a different person. I understand if this might be sothing you don’t want to talk about, but you don’t seem to have control over it, and that is a cause for concern. You might hurt yourself and others as well," Aric said.

"Sigh, I can’t believe I slipped up. It wasn’t supposed to happen," she said in a pained voice.

"Tell what it was about, please, Ariel. Maybe I can help," Aric said. He placed his hand on her shoulder to assure her. She took a deep breath and then started talking.

"Aric, rember when I told you that Dark Elves carry chaos energy? Well, I was born with very pure chaos energy—extrely potent and dangerous.

I told you that the form I had was my real form, but it wasn’t. The form you witnessed was my true form, but it no longer is.

My body still carries chaos, but it’s my chaos, and that’s because my father sealed away the potent chaos that I was born with. He couldn’t sever my connection to it, as it could kill , but he could make sure to push the chaos into the deepest parts of my soul.

But along the line, it turned out to have its own issues on . The chaos had turned that part of my soul it was sealed to into a chaos soul with its own will.

It is constantly trying to break free and take control. The seal and my will fight against it, but during certain tis, a small part of it manages to slip out. It turns into a being that brings chaos.

The more it stays sealed, the stronger it gets within . It was because of this I had to leave, scared that I would lose control and hurt people close to .

I didn’t want to be a Dark Elf that brought chaos. I didn’t want what the elves said about Dark Elves to be true. I wanted to be different—to show that my birth does not control ."
