Aric sat by the stream, still looking at rocks with his appraisal. Ariel ca out of the cabin after a nice rest; she spotted him sitting there and decided to co and sit with him.

She walked to the stream and sat beside him. She folded her legs up to her chest, her eyes on the water as it flowed by.

"There is a lot I don't understand about you. I don't know how you do all the things you have done. I thought about it for a while before I slept, and it didn't make sense.

But I know that I don't know everything, and everyone has their secrets. Many would kill to keep theirs, taking the life of soone that cos relatively close to finding their secrets.

You, on the other hand, didn't try to fight or kill . Rather, you made feel safe and welcod. It took only hours for to drop my guard around you.

I've lived on the edge, alone, and not trusting anyone, but with you, it felt different," Ariel said.

"Maybe it's because we are alike. Neither of us are people elves saw as any good—we were seen as useless and cast aside.

Maybe it's because you and I share that similar experience," Aric said. He glanced at her and then looked back at the water.

"Ariel, can I ask you so questions?" Aric asked.

"Yes, what is it?" she responded.

"I have little to no knowledge of this world. I was kept inside and kept without their teachings until now, so tell the basics and what I need to know," Aric said.

"Hmm, alright then. Our world is called Veilrend. She is the mother of all life that walks here. Before I was forced to leave, I read about other continents existing besides our own, but I have never t a person who went to another continent.

Our continent is Eldoria, one of the four great continents. Eldoria is at the center of Veilrend.

Eldoria has three major countries: the Elven Empire to the north, probably your ho and mine as well. The elves are known for their remarkable growth and achievents.

Then there's the Vermont Kingdom to the east and the Kingdom of Aragon, also to the east. They share borders, but they are never on friendly terms with each other.

To the west of Eldoria are the mountains, the cold and the hot, the unexplored lands of the continent, filled with forests beyond imagination, ruins, and dangers of all sorts.

We call that the Dead Lands—not because it is dead, but because of the number of people that have died there," she explained.

"I see. You also said these three are the major ones, then what about the ones that are not major? And also, where are we now?"

"Right now, we are in a forest just outside the borders of Aragon. It is a very large forest empty to the south, and it's ho to other smaller race kingdoms.

The demi-beasts and other races that live in Eldoria find their ho and small kingdoms mostly in this forest, though it is rumored that so powerful races live in the Dead Lands."

"I see. Thank you for sharing all that with ," Aric said and got up.

"You said this forest is ho to other races, right? Then why don't we find other races to ta?" Aric suggested as he turned to look into the forest.

"Ta?" she asked, confused.

"Yes, we need more help, as much as we can get. Then we can start developing this place—we can actually build a ho.

A ho for people that aren't wanted, a ho for people that the elves and humans saw as unimportant.

And we will show them that we are very much capable, even without them," Aric said.

"And how do you plan to ta them?" she asked. "Tars are people that have trained all their lives to be able to get beasts to beco their partners," she said.

"I understand that, and though I might not have their extensive training or knowledge, I still have a way to make it work.

So tomorrow, you and I will go searching for so beasts to actually test my ability," Aric said.

The sun was already setting slowly, and moving out was unsafe, so Aric decided it would be best for them to go tomorrow.

"You are a mystery. You couldn't stand firm yourself when you were with your father, and now, you have sohow gotten so unbelievable abilities," Ariel said.

Aric didn't give an explanation. He just smiled and went into the cabin. He lay down on his bed, thinking about the spirit guide that he had gotten.

According to the explanation, the book gave him an affinity for spirit magic. He wanted to see that and be sure that he actually had the affinity.

He looked at it and realized he actually had it. A smile ford on his face as he began to wonder how he would be able to use it.

The details said he would be able to feel spirits and communicate with them. He closed his eyes and tried it. He thought about communicating with spirits.

He continued like that until, after a few minutes, he felt a warm feeling. He opened his eyes, and to his shock, he saw small balls of light floating around him.

He felt like they were trying to communicate with him, but their words were coming in as static—he couldn't make out the words.

He tried to focus even harder, and finally, he could hear the whispers.

"Who are you? What are you?" one ball of light asked.

"He is a human. I've seen one before," another one said.

"No, he is an elf. Look at his ears," another light spoke.

"No, they're too short to be an elf. So what is he?" the second ball of light responded.
