The sun hung low on the horizon as the steamship eased into the bustling harbor of Hudson, the gateway to the Great Republic of Arathia. The city’s skyline, a patchwork of factory smokestacks and modern skyscrapers, shimred under the late afternoon light. It was a stark contrast to the romantic allure of Paris.

Matthew stood on the deck, his hands resting on the railing as he took in the familiar sights. Amber and Charles joined him, both looking equally reflective.

"We’re back," Amber said, a tinge of excitent in her voice. "It feels different this ti, doesn’t it?"

Matthew nodded, his expression calm but focused. "It does. The stakes are higher now. We’re not just returning—we’re bringing a vision back with us."

As the ship docked, the pier ca into view, crowded with people. Journalists with notepads and caras jostled for position, dockworkers moved with practiced efficiency, and a small group of well-dressed officials waited at the gangway.

"You’re quite the celebrity now," Charles remarked, a rare smile breaking through his usual stoic deanor.

Matthew smirked faintly, adjusting his tie. "Let’s hope that works in our favor."

As soon as Matthew disembarked, the throng of journalists surged forward, their voices blending into a cacophony of questions.

"Mr. Hesh! What inspired your groundbreaking vehicles?"

"Is it true you’ve already received offers from foreign governnts?"

"When will production begin in Arathia?"

Amber stepped in, her calm deanor commanding attention as she gestured for the crowd to quiet down.

"Please, one question at a ti. Mr. Hesh will address your concerns."

Matthew took a deep breath and stepped forward. The flashes of caras reflected off his glasses, but he maintained a steady gaze.

"Thank you all for coming. It’s an honor to return ho after the success of the World’s Fair. My team and I have worked tirelessly to develop vehicles that are not just innovations but solutions—solutions that will transform transportation and industry."

He paused, scanning the crowd before continuing. "Our imdiate focus is to ensure the vehicles et the highest standards before they enter production. This isn’t just about making cars; it’s about creating a legacy that will benefit generations to co."

A journalist raised her hand. "Mr. Hesh, do you plan to partner with the governnt or private industries for mass production?"

Matthew nodded. "Both. Collaboration is key to ensuring these vehicles reach as many people as possible, both here in Arathia and abroad. We’ve already begun exploring partnerships and will share more details as they develop."

Another voice called out. "What’s your ssage to the youth of Arathia who look up to you as an innovator?"

Matthew’s expression softened slightly. "Dream big, but rember that dreams only beco reality with hard work and perseverance. Innovation doesn’t happen overnight—it’s the result of countless failures and lessons learned along the way."

The crowd buzzed with approval, and Amber discreetly signaled for the session to conclude. As the journalists began dispersing, a courier approached, holding an envelope stamped with the seal of the Great Republic.

The courier handed the envelope to Matthew, his voice formal. "Mr. Hesh, this is for you. It’s from the White House in Columbus."

Matthew took the envelope, the weight of its significance not lost on him. The seal, embossed with the emblem of the Great Republic, glead in the fading sunlight. He opened it carefully, unfolding the crisp paper inside. Amber and Charles watched expectantly as he read aloud.

[Dear Mr. Hesh,

On behalf of the citizens of the Great Republic, I extend my heartfelt congratulations on your achievents at the World’s Fair. Your innovative work has not only brought pride to our nation but also laid the groundwork for a future of progress and prosperity.

It would be my honor to host you at the White House for a discussion on the impact of your vehicles and how the governnt can support your endeavors. Please let us know your earliest availability.

Sincerely,

President Theodore Clay

]

Amber’s eyes widened. "The President wants to et you? That’s… monuntal, Matthew."

Charles adjusted his hat, his expression contemplative. "This could be a ga-changer. A partnership with the governnt could accelerate production and establish your vehicles as a national priority."

Matthew folded the letter carefully, slipping it back into the envelope. "It’s an incredible opportunity, no doubt. But it’s also a responsibility. If we’re aligning with the governnt, we need to ensure our vision remains intact."

Amber placed a hand on his arm, her smile reassuring. "You’ll handle it, Matthew. Just like you’ve handled everything else."

As they made their way to the carriage that would take them to their headquarters, Matthew’s thoughts raced. The journey to Paris had been transformative, but the journey back ho was proving to be just as significant. The dal from the World’s Fair had been a validation of his work, but this invitation from the President was a call to action—a chance to shape the future on a much larger scale.

"What’s on your mind?" Amber asked gently.

Matthew t her eyes, a small smile playing on his lips. "Seizing this opportunity."

"Seizing an opportunity?" Amber tilted her head to the side. "What do you an?"

"Amber…when the ti cos for my automobile to be available for the public, they would drive them off the showroom right?"

"That’s simply it right? After they purchase the automobile they can take it ho," Amber replied.

Matthew shook his head. "That’s not simple. An automobile requires a skill called driving skills. If the person who will buy it doesn’t have a skill to drive the automobile, the custor won’t feel satisfied with it, and therefore would cause our sales to tank if that were to happen."

"What are you thinking?" Charles chid in with a question.

"It’s simple, we will establish a school to teach future custors how to drive the automobile, and I will need the help of the governnt to pass a law which would require drivers of the automobile to have a form of license that will allow them to legally drive in the street. If you think about it, it will give us more and more fortune as we will be the ones to establish the schools."

"I see where you are going with this," Charles said.

"This is the ti now," Matthew said with a determined voice.
