It was late evening, and the people of the 10th Hamlet could be seen returning to their hos from their farmlands.
Won could be seen cooking at the back of their huts, and the aromas of different simple but delicious als wafted across the settlent constantly. The few children in the hamlet ran around and played together, creating a harmonious noise that made the elders smile in relief.
The hamlet looked so peaceful that no one would suspect destruction was on its way toward it.
At the mont, only six people were aware of the dark fate approaching the Hamlet.
All six of them were already working towards stopping the destruction — the three scouts strolled around the village, ensuring everyone returned to their hos safely, while the old knight tasked himself with teaching the two youths the way of the sword at his house.
"HUMM!"
"HUMM!"
Ragnar and Noah could be seen swinging their swords harmoniously.
Unlike yesterday evening, the two of them were still full of strength as they practiced the new sword moves they learned from their master.
Their hands had grown accustod to the wooden swords. Their stances had solidified, and their moves had begun to reciprocate the gracefulness of their master’s.
"They are indeed geniuses," Old man Jas thought to himself as he watched them.
It had been almost two hours since they began, but both were still full of strength and ready to continue for another two hours of intense training.
Ragnar was more enthusiastic about today’s training thanks to the holographic window currently floating in front of him.
|| Physique 0.1 ||
"This is great, I have already gained 0.3 physique points in less than two hours. If I continue like this, I will gain more than 0.5 physique points before the end of the day," thought Ragnar.
Noah, on the other hand, did not have the luxury of seeing his attributes increase like Ragnar, nonetheless, he could feel his strength increasing gradually.
The two of them continued practicing with a single notion in their mind — get stronger, protect the Hamlet.
Another two hours passed in their training, and nightti finally arrived, but the two of them did not halt their practice.
The moon hung in the sky and cast a gentle crescent glow upon them. The soft evening wind blew on their faces, cooling them.
"Your performance was several tis better than yesterday. Although today’s moves were more complex, you managed to master them in no ti. I am very proud," Old man Jas said as he stood.
Ragnar and Noah smiled, but they did not stop training.
"You may stop now," Old man Jas said.
Only then did the two of them stop.
Unlike yesterday, they remained on their feet despite hours of exhausting training. Only their ragged breathing revealed their exhaustion.
Just like yesterday, Old man Jas brought the concoction and fed it to them.
They did not reject it this ti and drank the bitter brew, bringing a smile to the old man’s face. Not bad, he thought.
He addressed the two of them for a few minutes and then sent them ho.
=====
"Ragnar, what was the plan you talked about this morning, before Big Brother Kendrick and the other scouts returned?" On their way back ho, Noah reminded Ragnar.
"My dear friend Noah, I have not forgotten, unfortunately, I cannot share it with you now. But do not worry—I’ll share it with you when we et tomorrow," Ragnar replied.
"Hmm," Noah nodded his head despite being very curious. "Are you joining us for dinner tonight? I’m sure rlina has prepared sothing nice for us."
"Unfortunately, I can’t join you tonight," Ragnar replied. He opened his inventory, took out two canned fish, and gave them to Noah.
"This can contains fish. Fish is a good source of protein, so it will help you a lot. Share the other one with rlina as a token of apology for not eating her delicious dinner tonight," Ragnar smiled.
Noah observed the cans in his hand with a calm expression and shook his head. "You cannot give out supplies like this so easily, they could feed many others in the Hamlet."
Noah tried giving them back, but Ragnar pushed his hands back gently and said, "You two have worked hard for this Hamlet, you deserve these two canned fish."
Noah nodded and thanked him.
Ragnar’s hut was the closest to Old man Jas’s ho, so he arrived ho first and bade his friend farewell. He entered his hut and locked the wooden door behind him.
"Sigh, today was a really hectic day," he murmured.
"Onyx, reveal the details of my territory, I want to see how much progression I’ve made since the last ti."
|| Sure... Revealing territory details. ||
_
Na: 10th Hamlet
Rank: FF
Progress to F-rank: 37%
Population: 38 ( 3 people today)
Main resource: Small farmland
Remark — Improving, still needs a lot of work.
_
"Not bad," Ragnar nodded. "The remark is a lot better than last ti, and I have made over a 20% increase of progress. Considering it’s only a few days, that is a lot."
The incrent in population is due to the return of the three scouts. It seems the system only counts the people present.
Ragnar closed the territory details and began with what he had been dying to check out since morning.
"Open inventory," he called out.
The inventory window appeared before him.
His eyes landed on three items — the skill scrolls, the magic gem, and the random reward card.
|| Revealing details of new items. ||
Onyx seed to understand Ragnar’s need for description and quickly appeared.
|| Magic gem (low-grade): Contains a sustainable amount of mana that can be absorbed to increase MP and improve spirit. Can only be absorbed through ditation. ||
"Wow," Ragnar’s eyes widened, "Aside from the spirit points from leveling up, there is another way to increase my spirit attribute, this is great!"
|| Random reward card: Once snapped in two, a random reward is revealed. ||
After seeing the details of the random reward card, Ragnar grew impatient and imdiately equipped it.
Without wasting ti, he snapped it in two, and the reward hidden within was quickly revealed.
