Ragnar spent the entire afternoon swinging his sword around, trying to mimic the aweso moves he had seen in video gas and movies.
Unfortunately, despite possessing the passive Blade Mastery skill—which made it easier for him to learn any technique several tis faster than others—he could not execute a single effective, valid move.
If anyone looked at him, they would feel like they were watching a little kid play with a stick.
Fortunately, his virtual assistant explained that he could not replicate those cool moves he watched in movies and video gas because none of them were actual sword techniques.
|| With passive skill: Blade Mastery, the host can easily learn and reciprocate actual sword techniques. Sword skills acquired from the system would have bonus effects thanks to this passive skill as well. ||
Ragnar listened to Onyx’s explanation and heaved a resigned sigh.
He looked outside the window and noticed that evening was approaching.
"My mission with Noah and rlina will begin very soon, I have to wash up and prepare myself," Ragnar muttered.
Unfortunately, his hut had no bathroom or even a basic toilet—another issue Ragnar had noted, and he had already devised creative thods to address.
Nevertheless, he took a clay pot filled with water outside and carefully observed his surroundings thoroughly to ensure no one was peering before he began washing up.
After washing up, he searched his room for clothes but found none. He had to repeat the process to his dismay and frustration.
"Ragnar,"
Before he could even settle down, Noah’s familiar voice ca from the doorway.
"Hold on a minute," Ragnar said, stepping quickly toward the door.
Both rlina and Noah stood outside with serious expressions on their faces.
"We need to move fast, or we might miss the thief," rlina suggested.
"All right," Ragnar nodded.
The three of them strolled purposefully down to the storage house together.
Evening darkened further as hours passed, nightti finally approached, and the moon quietly resud its place in the sky over the small settlent, bathing it in dim illumination.
The people of the settlent were used to sleeping very early, especially after a long day of work, so it was eerily quiet as the three of them strolled to their destination. Only two huts remained noisy with the restless cries of babies.
Minutes later, the three of them arrived at their destination.
They first circled the storage house to see if they had already missed the thief.
Noah and Ragnar examined the suspicious spot they had found earlier, it remained unchanged.
"Great, we arrived early," Ragnar muttered. "We should find a good hiding spot so as not to draw attention to ourselves. We’ll stay at different points to get a wider range of coverage."
Noah and rlina listened attentively and nodded.
Before Ragnar sent them to their hiding spots, he planned to give them the sword and lie to them that the ancestors had given it to him.
Nevertheless, before he could even inform the twins to arm themselves, they had already picked up heavy objects lying around.
Noah grabbed a long and durable stick while rlina ard herself with plenty of pebbles. Ragnar quickly noticed that she was carrying a makeshift leather hand sling.
"Wow," Ragnar thought silently, surprised, but he kept it to himself and rushed to find a nice hiding spot.
He found a heap of bushes not too far away and crawled crouching beneath it.
Although it was uncomfortable and sowhat risky, it was the only perfect spot he could find around at that mont.
Unlike Ragnar, who was unlucky with hiding spots, rlina and Noah found hiding spots that were surprisingly comfortable and stealthy—an abandoned hut not far from the storage house served as the twins’ hiding place. It provided both coverage and comfort, and also a perfect line of sight.
The three of them waited patiently and silently.
Half an hour slowly drifted past as the night got darker, but the thief did not appear.
Soon, about two hours had passed.
’Would the thief really appear today?’ Ragnar wondered as he grew tired of maintaining a single position inside his uncomfortable hiding spot.
Impatient, rlina whispered the sa question to her brother.
"It is harvest season for plenty of crops, the thief is aware of this and would most likely co," Noah replied calmly, his eyes fixed on the storage house.
rlina tilted her head gently to the right and observed Noah curiously. Although they were twins, she was the elder by almost an hour, according to their parents.
She had taken the role of the big sister since they were little, always looking out for her brother and ensuring he was well fed.
Her role as the big sister beca more apparent after the war, she learned how to cook to ensure he was eating well.
On the other hand, after their parents died and years passed, Noah grew more emotionally unavailable, and she often felt he didn’t see her as his sister anymore.
’Well, he is right, the thief would not want to miss a day like this,’ she thought, returning her attention to the storage house.
Another hour passed quietly, and the thief finally arrived.
"WTF!"
Ragnar cursed under his breath in a low tone when he saw the thief.
