"But Rul, why won’t you tell what Lux is?" Dalki went about as the three of them ascended a flight of stairs.
"You don’t want to know, trust ."
"Mmhm, i don’t wanna know."
"Not you, Efi."
"Okie dokie, hehe." She rubbed the back of her head, chuckling.
"I literally want to, that’s why am asking." She protested, finally managing to stop Rul in her tracks.
"Fine, I’ll tell you since it’s not important."
"Yay!"
"Huh? Didn’t you say you didn’t want to know?" Dalki questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"Well, uhm that was in the past though."
"In the...are you kidding ?"
"You’re not a kid? Are you?" Efi asked with her curious and innocent look up as usual. anwhile, seeing the two at it, Rul could be seen quietly backing away and up the stairs. When suddenly, her ears caught movents coming towards them.
"Wait!" A voice called out, one unfamiliar to the trio.
"When did she—?" The astonishnt on Rul’s face was evident, for she had barely seen her coming despite being a spiritualist.
"Well, we were already waiting, but not for you of course." Dalki casually said resud with her argunt, failing to realize what was happening.
"Who are you?" The question was literally what was written around the bat of realization currently coming at them. As that brought their minds to the fact that, soone they couldn’t recognize stood behind them.
"I kno—"
"She looks like Elena, no Helena rather." Efi pointed out, titling her head to the side as if it gave her a better hint.
"So she’s a ghost!" Dalki exclaid. "They rged into one to co and kill their killer."
"Uhm, buh Shul is dead so why are they here then."
"Maybe to kill us, but they can’t with Rul here." The two suddenly disappeared to where she was, hiding behind her.
"Can you two shut it for once?"
"Well, uhm I can." Rul turned to look at the other.
"Fine, still about the lux— okay okay, humph!"
"I know there’s a lot of confusion here, but all i need is my letter then I’m gone. You wouldn’t notice i ever existed, not like anyone ever did."
"You’re not getting it, so forget about that and tell who you are." Rul’s voice carried an amount of aura in it, increasing her persuasiveness by leaps.
"I–I–I’m Se–Selena." She managed to say, almost dropping to the ground as all she did now was get a breather.
"Oh? You’re Selena?"
"She’s Selena?"
"Uh, you know her?" Efi and Selena were now the curiously confused one’s.
"Of course, Selena the Vegetable— haha!" Dalki broke out in laughter. "I can’t believe their stories were true."
"Quite interesting..."
"What’s going on here, how do you even know in the first place?"
"Mmmhm, e too i wanted to ask what she asked."
"Well, while Efi was busy been the best wive the chief had ever had—" Efi’s face went form normal temperature to a hundred degrees in a split second. "We listened on them, while they did their thingy, or after they did it instead."
"They were always complaining about how weak you were, in not joining of course." Rul added up to Dalki’s words.
"Thingy?"
"Was that all you heard?"
"Nopey nope sorry, continue."
"Haa, such abominations did deserve to live to find husbands— good their gone."
"Mmhm, that’s why Shul killed them. They forced her into it, fulfilled their so called dream."
"So you did know what the thingy was?"
"Uhm, hehe i never said I didn’t."
"Why are you interested in the letter, Selena?"
"It was sent to of course?"
"Doesn’t say so here as far as I know."
"But..." She was fumbling her fingers, not knowing what to say next.
"Good then, better you’d t Master Tham. Follow us or do whatever you want that’s your choice." Rul inford, resuming with ascending the staircase, Efi following after.
"About the Lux, hey don’t just ignore ." The duo disappeared into the building, not daring to look back. "Selena the Vegetable, you coming or what?"
"... I–I fine, but don’t call that ok."
"Yeah, sure. I’ll give you, Lux. Until Master gives it back to and you get mine, hehe."
"Eh, what are you even saying?"
"Is—is here a safe area? Make sure it it cause their after , they– they want dead." A shaky masculine voice was heard as the doors into the dark room were shut.
Movent could be heard, as soon the room lit up with the candles which were being lit.
"You’re safe, there’s no need to worry about anything. Calm down first, Kenze." Alden could be heard, his features barely visible in the room.
"Give so water." He stretched out his hand, receiving a water skin from one of his n. Looking at the other’s eyes, he could see he was quite wary of him. So to earn his trust, he bit off the top and gulped down so of it.
"You see, it’s just water— just water." Alden brought it closer to him and almost in an instant, it was grabbed.
"You must be hungry. Do get sothing for him, a good al of course." He ordered with the two soon exiting the room.
Minutes later, all four could now be seen in the room, seated with the man in rags being done with a good two plates of food.
*BURP!
"Excuse . Would you mind getting another, not for but a little one of mine." Kenze voiced, now calr than earlier. His eyes t with the two on both sides, expecting them to move. However, with a nod from Alden they were up and out once again.
"Loyal as always, it’s a hard thing to co by these days." Kenze stated, his voice getting lower as he added with a certain sadness in his eyes. "I’ve lost my bunch, all of them— dead."
"Have i gained your trust now?" Alden wanted to be sure, not being one to have to smooth things once again after being halfway in with the questioning.
"Hah, you never change my boy. Don’t worry, you’re sothing I’ll trust my life with." Kenze smiled briefly. "Forgive for earlier, a hungry man is an angry man they say."
"Whatever has happened, we can put it off to the next question. However, my n are headed for Renville as we speak. Who are they eting to seal the deal with the corporation?"
"eting? Alden, haven’t heard already? Renville is no more, it’s gone alongside all my n and thousands more."
"Gone? What do you an by it’s gone?!"
