"Your Imperial Highness, the Baxton Bank has been at the very top of all the banks in West Giza. As yo—"

"West Giza you say?" All eyes turned towards them, her voice higher than the other’s.

Currently, they found themselves within the large purple building of Bank Baxton, the pride of the NobleHouse. With it barely being noon, only the staffs could be seen around as they ensure all was set for the day’s work.

"Yes, Your Imperial Highness. The Baxt—"

"So tell , Mr. Manager or whatever you are." Giggles and snickers could be heard all over at her words.

’How humiliating.’ Unable to say a thing, he stomached it and kept a cool head. anwhile, playing their parts as imperial guards the two glanced at each other, and then back at Cony who seed to already have his handful with the chest.

"How does the Baxtons with all their backings, remain beneath another?" Thelma questioned, her deanor and everything else unlike anyone who was acting it out— though to her comrades it was a good one.

"Well, it’s not that we aren’t capable, but–but RoyalHouse Cardigan, does have a higher influence."

"Tsk, trifles of your houses barely concerns this queen." Thelma shrugged, not having any regard for any other house as she barely kept their nas in mind. "As a matter of fact, I am here today because I wish to keep so useless gold in here for the anti."

"Of course, Your Imperial Highness. I and the Baxtons shall be honour to have you trust us."

"Trust you, that’s never happening old man."

"Yes, yes. Forgive the words of an old fool, Your Imperial Highness. May we proceed to my office for the needed docuntation."

"Whatever." She waved, keeping her sassy appearance as she followed behind up a flight of stairs, the laughter fading behind.

’Heh.’

"Haa, haa...I’m tired, I don’t think I...I can go... anymore." One of the two figures who currently found themselves on a dirt path said.

"We have to, you don’t want him mad.at us." The other, seeming to be also gasping for air stated. Standing upright, he didn’t appear to be like his comrade, who could barely keep himself from the welcoming embrace of the ground.

"Haa...yet they say being...a knight is easier." The other protested, wishing there was even a single tree to lean around there.

"It is, those hunters die in a thousandfold each day...be glad to live longer."

"Tsk... living longer eh, at this rate I bet I will. I can’t believe that old didn’t even reward us for what we told him." He groaned, finally raising himself up.

"I an, did he ever know the distance to Castle Baxton? Ugh, how would he when he’s always in a fancy carriage."

"Haa, talking about carriages. Th— soone’s coming." The other was about saying when he suddenly inford.

As quickly turning in the direction he was looking, he could also notice not only the rising dust, but the approaching party of a dozen riders.

Watching closely as they drew near, the purple banners were the easiest to notice followed by the leading fully armoured knights. However, few ters away they could finally notice a carriage and one they recognized. As the next second, they were looking at each with a wide smile up, having similar thoughts.

*GALLOP!

*GALLOP!

"You are on the property of NobleHouse Baxton!! Unwanted Intruders will be shown no rcy!!" A voice announced loudly, causing the two to imdiately look at each other.

"Do we look like a thre—"

*SWISH!

*THUNK!

As the arrow had suddenly landed right before then, they seed to have caught the sa montum. For at that mont, their heart skipped a beat, their hands imdiately forgetting all about their spears.

Yet rely glancing at the arrow between them, the exact voice from before ca again, though much closer this ti round.

"Now, state your business."

"Ah! How? They’re? But? He—" Currently on the ground and kicking himself away to who knew where, he stopped for a second just to realize he was hearing himself only.

’Um, wait he’s...bowing...’ His eyes shifted, from the other to those mounted right before him, and then back. ’...to a knight?’

"Knights of Baxton?" A voice abit familiar ca from behind the helm.

"Yes, Si—"

"Haa, Sir Fusen?" A head turned in his direction as he stood up from the ground. "And...Sir Twain, Sir Hugg, Sir Justin and Sir Edmond." The leading knights before the carriage glanced at each other, baffled.

"Now mind telling who are you daring to bowing to, Sir Mani?."

"Oh, erm...I thought, well— but—"

"Show so respect towards, Lo—" One of the knights snapped, a raised hand silencing him.

"Hugg, it’s just re escapades between fellow knights I believe, Sir?"

"Um, Mani and he’s Sir Quist. Still, I will ask you forgive us, Sir Edmond."

"Heh, forgive us." Quist smirked, his face painted with pride. ’Hahahaa, I don’t think I’m ever gonna think about leaving the lower ranks.’ He unambitiously thought.

"I would like to know your business here, being this far from the Bank I believe." Edmond continued.

"We are to inform the Lord of sothing and as far as I know, it’s none of your business."

"Quist!" Mani exclaid, looking in his direction.

"What, we’re fellow knights of the lower ranks eh."

"You may be right, Sir Quist. Still, I’d request that any information to the Lord in regards co to ."

"And why would I e—"

"Because he’s now in-charge of it, you idiot." Hugg snapped again.

"What, that’s— um, well then. We have received an Imperial."

"An Imperial, you say?" The words had caused chattering throughout the party, as that word alone bore an unbearable weight.

"Can soone tell how marriage in nobles work? Is it groom prize instead?" Quist questioned, still trying to process Huggs words.

"Quist!"

"What?!"

"They’re gone."

"Huh? Wait, what? How? When? What’s going on here?" His eyes darted around, noticing the party wasn’t before, yet turning back they were already a distance away.

"Ugh, that should be expected, anyways." Mani went to grab his spear.

"Wait, what’s happening? I’m i missing sothing here?" Quist stood there totally puzzled.

"Oh right, not from the empire yet never listening too. The Baxtons unlike the first sack of a daughter, had struck it big with the second."

"Are we still on the sa page here?"

"Let finish, Quist. Now, the second lady of the Baxtons is to wed an Imperial, but not just any Imperial but the Daring RuneLord."

"You an the ImperialLord is wedding her, he sure has so tastes."

"Not him, idiot."

"Huh, you just literally—"

"You didn’t let finish."

"Gosh, get on with it already."

"She’s marrying into the Yutinas, and they only have—"

"Knights with Runes, wait so you’re saying the Baxtons now have Runers?"

"Exactly."

"Haa, maybe joining the Yutinas would have been better." Quist went for a grab off his spear.

"Haha, why would they take a knight with an iron aura? You’re forever in the lower ranks."

"Heh, the lower ranks isn’t that bad. We’ll get a horse and decent gold at so point, though."

"That’s if you ever breakthrough, give or take— you’ll need at least 46 years for that, at max 70 or worse 80."

"Iron is a nightmare for sure."

"No, at least it’s more stable than a darn copper— I could barely absorb a thing the other day."

"Hah, sorry for you cause I had my fill."

"Lucky bastard the say, hahaha!"

"Hahaha!"

*HYAA!

The strong gates of the palace opened up as a party of riders and two carriages, moved out into the open. Moving fast, the leading riders seed to move fast ahead than the others.

"My love, where are we headed? Aren’t we moving with the party?" Riding beside the other shrouded in full armour, the lady inquired.

"We’ll join them after, there’s sowhere we have to head to imdiately." The other replied, raising his hands and drawing sothing from his storage space.

’Wait? What’s that? Is that a runed scroll?’ She thought, glancing at his hands which opened it up. ’Can he already use one?’

"I can’t use it you know." His voice was suddenly heard, as if reading her thoughts, startling her for a second.

"Huh?"

"But, is already a hot one so all I’ve got to do is set the coordinates." He added, a hand going to the hilt of his sword.

"A hot one?"

"Yes, it’s already activated and might kill us if not used in ti— haha." Drawing out his sword abit, he brushed a finger on the blade and then went to scribble on the scroll.

"Ki— ki— kill us! You’re even bleeding! What are you even doing?!!"

"Hehe." He plunged the finger into his mouth to stop the bleeding, taking a good look at the scroll. It was soon sent hurling less than a ter away.

"Oops, bad throw." He snickered, his gaze falling on the other’s terrified face, a portal beginning to form fast ahead.

"Oh co on, we’re just heading to Illegia."

"I-I-Illegia!!" She exclaid, riding straight into the portal after the other, before she could even consider fainting from the shock.
