In the dimly lit, third-grade hotel room, the atmosphere hung heavy with a sense of urgency and purpose. Nyx, a seasoned and skilled rcenary, was hunched over a small table cluttered with gun parts, ticulously assembling her weapon.

Her attire spoke of functionality – cargo pants and a sleeveless vest, both worn with an air of practicality that matched her surroundings. The room itself was a picture of worn-out elegance, with faded wallpaper and a single window overlooking a less-than-spectacular view.

Yet, it was Nyx's expression that truly defined the scene. Her eyes, usually keen and determined, were fixed unswervingly on the rugged laptop screen before her. The picture displayed a young man, an enigmatic figure with striking features that seed to demand her attention.

His eyes, red like a vampire's, held an intensity that sent a shiver through her, an unshakable feeling of being seen even through the image.

Nyx's hands moved with a precision born of practice, expertly fixing gun parts as her thoughts danced between the task at hand and the young man on the screen. His image seed to cast a shadow over her, a presence that lingered even as she focused on her weapon.

The laptop, a bridge between her reality and her thoughts, served as a constant reminder of the enigma she was trying to unravel. Her internal struggle was evident. The very air seed to hum with the weight of her thoughts, her mind grappling with the decision to delve deeper into this mystery or retreat from it.

Her own instincts, once a trusted compass, seed to be wavering, their usual clarity shrouded in doubt.

Amidst this internal turmoil, the satellite phone at her side began to beep insistently, its signal a persistent reminder of an incoming call. Nyx had been avoiding it, hesitant to confront whatever lay on the other end of the line. But this ti, a decision was made – she would answer.

As the call connected, the voice of Luis, the young master of the Aries family, resonated through the small room. The urgency in Luis's voice pierced the air, a reflection of his concern and impatience.

"Nyx, where have you been? I've been trying to reach you for days," he exclaid, his words rushing out in a torrent. The connection, after several attempts, finally linked them together.

In response, Nyx didn't imdiately reply. The weight of her silence hung in the air, a testant to the gravity of her decision. After a pause that seed to stretch, she spoke with a determination that brooked no argunt.

"Luis, listen carefully. I'm stepping away from this mission. I'm leaving the country soon. Do not contact regarding anything related to this task."

A mont of shocked silence followed, as if the very air was absorbing the impact of her words. Luis's disbelief was palpable, his voice tinged with a mix of confusion and urgency. "What? Nyx, you can't just back out like that. You've already been paid a substantial amount for this mission. I can offer you more money if that's what you need.

But tell , why the sudden change?"

Nyx's response was unwavering, her resolve evident in her tone. "Money isn't the issue, Luis. Sothing has shifted, and I'm not willing to take the risk anymore. I've gathered all I could, and now I need to step away."

Luis's voice carried a note of incredulity as he probed further, his intrigue getting the better of him. "Did soone threaten you? Is that why you're leaving?"

Nyx's exhale was heavy, a mixture of frustration and conviction. "It's not about threats. It's about instincts. Sothing about this mission feels off, and I won't compromise my safety for it."

Luis, who had relied on Nyx's unparalleled expertise for complex operations, struggled to grasp the reality unfolding before him. "Nyx, you've never backed out of a mission before. You completed more complicated and dangerous tasks for . What's different this ti?"

Nyx's tone remained firm, her decision resolute. "This isn't like anything I've encountered before. There's a person, a danger that I can't quite pinpoint. Luis, since five year old, my father trained to be a capable rcenary. In all these years my instinct's never gone wrong for once. I suggest you to don't touch that young man nad Das."

"Nyx, I'm struggling to understand why you're so afraid of one brat," Luis's voice held a note of exasperation, an edge of frustration. He continued, his words flowing with an undercurrent of determination,

"I've stationed thousands of my family's soldiers at the city outskirts. I'm waiting for you to join . Together, we'll finish that man and seize control of this city in one swift move. If you're still unsure, I can call in more troops and experts. What do you say? Will you join now?"

Nyx's response was swift, her patience wearing thin. "Luis, I can't stress this enough. It's not about underestimating or fearing anyone. I've made my decision – I can't continue with this mission. It's your choice if you want to proceed, but I won't be a part of it. You're not comprehending the gravity of the situation.

I've told you, I can't be involved."

Luis's tone shifted, his confidence undeterred. "Nyx, just think about it. Even if he's as dangerous as you claim, what can he possibly do when I unleash thousands of soldiers ard to the teeth, aiming guns at his face?"

Nyx's response held a tinge of impatience, her words carrying the weight of experience. "Luis, you're missing the point entirely. It's not about the firepower you possess. It's about the unknown factors, the unpredictability of the situation. You're operating on assumptions, and that's a dangerous ga to play."

Her frustration was palpable, a result of trying to convey a reality Luis seed reluctant to accept. Her words echoed with a plea for him to understand the gravity of the situation, to grasp that certain forces were beyond the realm of conventional tactics.

Luis's voice held a note of pride as he countered, "I'm reaching out to you precisely because you've done the groundwork and gathered vital information about this city. We can't afford to ignore that advantage"

"Whatever. Do what you want. I'm not stopping you. I already explained you everything. It's your wish of you want to chose death." Nyx said as she prepared to disconnect the call. While speaking with him she also finished packing her bags, getting ready to leave this country as soon as possible.
