Timothy Xavier’s arrival interrupted what Mrs. Ellison was saying just now.

He was as courteous and polite as ever, yet carried an inherent sense of superiority, "Mom and Dad, sorry to keep you waiting."

I let out a gentle sigh of relief. Thankfully, he didn’t give my parents a hard ti or put them in an awkward position.

"No, no, we just got here ourselves. We were chatting with Zoe and haven’t been waiting long!"

"If you haven’t finished your work, feel free to continue; we’ll just chat here."

I bowed my head, "Let’s go, Mom. Let’s eat first."

At the dinner table, Timothy Xavier sat at the head of the table.

My parents and I sat below him.

My father hesitated, cautiously glancing at Timothy Xavier’s expression.

"Timothy... Dad has sothing to ask of you..."

Mr. Ellison’s attitude was almost humbly submissive.

Timothy responded calmly, "I understand; The Ellison Group has encountered so difficulties lately. You don’t need to worry about the funds. Do you have the contract?"

Mr. Ellison replied, "Yes, yes, I have it."

Timothy said, "I’ll sign it later, and tomorrow Zoe will send it to you. The funds will be transferred to The Ellison Group by Friday at the latest."

His words brought a sigh of relief to both Mr. and Mrs. Ellison.

Their faces simultaneously showed a relieved smile, gratefully thanking him repeatedly.

"Zoe is my wife. Helping The Ellison Family during difficult tis is only natural."

His words completely dispelled Mrs. Ellison’s earlier doubts.

Furthermore, Mrs. Ellison, being straightforward by nature, never beats around the bush.

She smiled and said, "Seeing you and Zoe getting along so well, I feel reassured! Yesterday I saw news about Serena Sawyer’s sponsor and worried all night thinking it was you!"

As soon as Mrs. Ellison finished speaking, both Timothy Xavier and I felt a bit awkward, but quickly changed the subject.

After they left, I inserted the drafted divorce agreent into the last page of the contract, and then took it to the study.

...

In the study, Timothy Xavier was sitting in front of the computer dealing with work emails.

The warm yellow light distinctly outlined his cold and firm features, a look I once deeply admired for his focus and seriousness.

I sighed softly and took the contract over to him, saying, "This is the contract my father asked to give you for signing. Please, sign it."

He glanced at and, seeing I wasn’t arguing with him anymore, smiled and said, "So, you know when to stop."

"Yes. Thank you for helping my family just now."

Suppressing my inner sadness, I thanked him.

Before signing, Timothy said to , "By the way, I wanted to tell you sothing. Recently, there have been too many dia watching. I plan to bring Serena and Doris to live here. Azure Bay is Veridia’s most private villa neighborhood, so they’ll be safer here."

I felt a suffocating pain in my chest.

How could I forget?

Timothy Xavier is a shrewd businessman!

Every favor he bestows requires an equivalent exchange.

He’s helping The Ellison Family, but not for free!

I uttered a single word, "Okay."

He continued, "And I’d like Doris and Serena to have the master bedroom. After all, we want to create a sort of environnt for Doris..."

"Enough, no need to explain, I understand!" Before he finished, I interrupted, "I’ll move to the guest room and give the master to you."

The man no longer belongs to ; why should I care about a single room?

After agreeing to Timothy Xavier’s conditions, I took out the contract and asked, "Can you sign it now? My dad is in urgent need of it."

Timothy didn’t say anything and started signing.

The further he signed, the more nervous I beca.

Because the last page contained the divorce agreent I prepared in advance.
