Damon kicked his sister away from Charlotte and then helped her to her feet. He stroked her hair gently, as if trying to take away the pain.

"Are you hurt?" Damon asked worriedly.

Charlotte grimaced as she touched the bruises on her arms. The golf club had left a red line on her pale skin, reminding her of the bruises Julian often gave her.

"I’m fine. It will fade soon," Charlotte reassured him.

Priscilla stood up and laughed at her. "Don’t pretend you’re innocent! You are the one who hurt my son’s feelings!"

Charlotte glared at her. She felt disgusted by her mother-in-law, especially since she had always blindly defended Julian.

"Your son has abused more than a hundred tis," Charlotte said coldly, "but you never wanted to admit it. Now you call a slut, but the truth is that your son is the one who acts like a slut."

He had spread his pheromone all over town, letting so many won use his tiny dick.

If Priscilla wanted to insult soone, she should have insulted her own son first.

"Don’t make up things that aren’t true!" Priscilla snapped at her, "and what is wrong with a little slapping or spanking? It’s called discipline! He wouldn’t do it if you could behave!"

Charlotte clenched her fists and didn’t understand how she could consider violence a normal thing?

What is wrong with her?

"Priscilla!" Damon’s voice roared through the room. He stepped between Charlotte and Priscilla. "You dare to barge into my house, attack my mate, and justify your abuse as ’discipline’? You’re out of your damn mind!"

Priscilla rolled her eyes. "Oh, co on. Everyone knows that a little abuse is normal in marriage, even our fathers did it to our mothers."

She continued, "And what do you know about discipline? You are Father’s favorite son, of course you never experienced his ’discipline’ like I did."

Damon clenched his fist, looking like he was trying his best not to strangle his sister right then and there. "The past is no excuse to justify your actions," Damon said, "What our father did was wrong, Priscilla, and deep down you know it. Don’t you dare stand here and pretend it was normal."

"You talk as if your actions are not as disgusting as Father’s. He marked two mates at the sa ti, but you ..." Priscilla let out a bitter laugh. "You marked your nephew’s wife. Disgusting, you are no better than a dog, Damon."

Slap!

Charlotte swung her hand as hard as she could at Priscilla’s cheek. Her mother-in-law stumbled back, her face turned to the side. The sound echoed through the room like thunder.

For a mont, ti seed to freeze. Charlotte’s chest rose and fell heavily, her hands trembled, but her voice was steady and sharp.

"Don’t you dare speak of him like that," Charlotte said coldly. Her eyes burned with a fury Priscilla had never seen before. "You can insult , you can accuse of whatever twisted things you want to believe, but Damon has done nothing wrong."

Priscilla turned her head slowly, holding her red cheek. She was montarily speechless because she hadn’t expected Charlotte to do such a thing.

"You and your son have poisoned for years, made believe I was worthless, made live in fear."

Damon approached her, his hand resting gently on Charlotte’s back as if to reassure her, but he didn’t stop her. He stood silently by her side, letting her speak.

Charlotte lowered her voice. "You call him disgusting, but what about you? What kind of mother raises a son to treat his wife like garbage?" her voice cracked slightly. "But you’re right about one thing, Priscilla. Damon is not like your father. He’s better."

Priscilla’s lips curled into a snarl, her pride clearly stinging. "You little--"

Charlotte cut her off. "Don’t be mad at for slapping you. Didn’t you say a little slap was necessary to discipline soone who was misbehaving?"

Priscilla raised her hand to slap Charlotte, but Damon imdiately pushed her away. "You’ve overstayed your welco, Priscilla. Get out before I forget you’re my sister."

She smashed a nearby vase to the ground in frustration. After releasing her anger, she spoke to Charlotte, "Rember this, Charlotte. If you divorce my son, you will leave empty-handed."

Charlotte lifted her chin and looked down at Priscilla. "Have you forgotten who I am? I am Charlotte Dawson," she said proudly, "I can rebuild my fortune in no ti.

Actually, Charlotte wasn’t sure, but she wanted to say sothing that would make Priscilla lost her sanity.

Priscilla’s eyes widened, her expression twisted with disbelief and anger. "How arrogant—"

"Leave," Damon said coldly, his voice carrying a warning that left no room for argunt.

Priscilla’s nostrils flared, her eyes darting between them as if deciding whether to continue the fight. Finally, with a sneer, she turned sharply on her heel. "You will regret this."

Charlotte said simply, "I won’t."

The echo of her heels faded as she stord out of the house. The broken vase and other things lay scattered on the floor.

Charlotte took a long, shaky breath. Her confident deanor vanished the mont Priscilla was gone. Her knees fell to the floor, her hands shaking as she placed them in her lap.

"She’s gone, Charlotte." Damon crouched in front of her, then pulled her into his embrace. "It’s okay. You’re all right now."

Charlotte clung to his shirt, slling his scent to calm her mind. "Please, help . I just want it all to be over."

She was sick of Julian and his mother. He didn’t even co in person and let Priscilla accuse her of sothing she didn’t do.

From that fact alone, Charlotte guessed that Julian didn’t want to divorce her because he still loved her, but because he wanted to control her.

"I’m really ... really tired of him," murmured Charlotte.

If she could turn back in ti, she’d rather die than marry Julian.

Damon lifted his head and looked at Theodore, who had been standing outside the door from the beginning. He didn’t do anything when Priscilla abused his Alpha because Damon told him not to.

Theodore’s face seed unfazed, but he followed Priscilla’s every move with his sharp eyes as if he was ready to skin her alive if Damon asked him to.

"From now on, Priscilla is forbidden to enter this manor." Damon deepened his voice as he ordered Theodore, "I give you permission to make your own decision if my sister wants to hurt my mate."

Theodore lowered his head. "I understand, Leader."
