Chapter 81: Sothing to show you

Knox sat on his knees on the floor, his hands resting above his thighs with his head lowered, as he listened to Athan’s scolding. After he called Azrael, he asked if Athan could take care of Knoa for a few days.

Just in ti, his father called and asked if Knoa could spend the long weekend at his house, so after Knoa happily agreed, he packed a bag of clothes and brought him to the mansion. Athan was also there, and when he learned that Knox was going sowhere leaving his kid behind, he interrogated him.

"I’m just...taking care of a sick friend," Knox answered as he averted his eyes from Athan’s scrutinizing look.

Athan folded his arms on his chest, "For the entire weekend?"

"Of course not! I’m going back later...uhh, might? Anyway, I’m running late, older brother, I’m going now," Knox imdiately stood, not giving Athan a chance to answer. He waved at Knoa who was already playing with Loki in the garden. Then, he hopped in on the red rcedez Benz.

When Athan asked him where he got the car, he had no choice but to lie, saying he bought it himself. He even got teased because the car looked flashy.

From the Horace Mansion to the elite subdivision where Azrael’s house, the drive took almost two hours. The gate opened as soon as he arrived. He parked the car just at the front of the house instead of driving it inside the garage.

’I’m only going to cook him food and check on him. But how am I going to break it to him though?’ Knox pondered as he made his way to the door. It opened even before he pressed the doorbell.

Knox stepped in, glancing around the house. It’s been almost a month since he ca to that place again. The last ti was when he barged in to ask Azrael to withdraw the case. After that, he beca so busy that he forgot the contract between them, and Azrael didn’t push it either.

"He was really being considerate..." Knox mumbled.

He went to the kitchen and checked the fridge. Looking at the ti on his wristwatch, he decided to prepare lunch already. It was rare for Azrael not to welco him at the entrance, so Knox wondered if he’d go upstairs or just wait for the man to co down.

Knox had never set foot upstairs, and he didn’t know where Azrael’s bedroom was, but he was worried he might be too weak to greet him. Still, he decided to wait downstairs and brood over how to tell him about Knoa.

He was cutting vegetables when Azrael descended.

His hair was damp and he looked fresh in his white tee shirt and grey loose cargo pants. Making his way to the kitchen, his eyes were only focused on Knox, gleaming with satisfaction. He cocked his head, then his lips curved into a smile.

A clear and cool voice ca from him, "I never imagined I’d be this happy seeing soone cooking for ."

Knox paused. His cheeks turned red, so he quickly looked away. Knox felt the sa as well; he never imagined his heart could beat any faster than it did at the sight of Azrael walking down the stairs.

Knox cleared his throat and remarked, "You should be more grateful and kind to people cooking your food. You never know what else they could put in them if you angered them."

"So, are you thinking of putting sothing in my food, then?" Azrael asked as he walked closer. He stopped a foot away from Knox and leaned his hips on the edge of the island counter, folded his arms, and gazed at Knox slicing vegetables.

His eyes traced the shape of Knox’s side profile. From the few strands of light brown hair cascading on his forehead, hiding his light-colored eyebrows, down to every lash in his almond-shaped eyes to his reddened cheek. Veins popped in Azrael’s arms as he suppressed the strong urge to turn Knox’s face to him and ravish those pinkish lips.

Knox pretended like he wasn’t aware of being intensely gazed at, however, his actions were betraying him as his hands slowed. "If...it was before, then I might have. You were really so annoying, thinking everything I did was to seduce you when to tell you honestly, every ti I looked at you, I see nothing but a cow shitting cash..."

His words trailed off when suddenly, Azrael leaned forward. Knox’s forehead broke into a sweat as he inwardly scolded himself for rambling too much. He gulped and worriedly thought, ’Shit. Is he mad?’

Knox nervously smiled and flailed his hand, as though erasing the words he spoke in the air, "L-Loo, I just ant—

However, the alpha grabbed his hand, grasping his wrist so gently. Azrael locked his eyes on Knox and spoke seductively, "And now, how do you see ?"

’How do I see him now?’ Knox paused to ponder. His green eyes bore against his grey ones, reflecting his image on those clear orbs. Knox was rendered speechless. There was nothing in his eyes but him and it made Knox feel more special, more wanted. A budding feeling rose inside him, it blood until his eyes could no longer hide his emotions.

The sweet scent of lavender filled the kitchen. Knox’s eyes shook ever so slightly as Azrael released his pheromones as if joining him, and unknowingly filling him.

In Azrael’s firm and intense gaze, there was nothing on them aside from Knox and yearning.

Knox unconsciously gulped the words caught in his throat. He parted his lips, and just like soone who got hypnotized, Knox replied without blinking or breaking eye contact, "You beca...more annoying...but more likable. Soone who occupied my mind every ti I felt drained from everything, soone I knew could be dangerous and yet, I still find myself coming here...letting you do this...ah, f*ck, what am I saying?" he blinked and shoved Azrael away by his shoulder. "Go away, I’m cooking. You’re sick, aren’t you? So, stay...what are you doing?"

Knox asked as he tilted his head backward since Azrael leaned closer again. He then spoke with a fake warning, "I’m holding a knife, Mr. Del Valle."

Azrael chuckled. His left hand slid underneath Knox’s ears, grazing his slender, pale neck before it cupped the back of his head. Knox flinched under that slight touch, and Azrael never felt so contented before.

He felt winning, witnessing Knox react to his every touch with expectation and embarrassnt, yet no longer pushing him away. He touched his forehead against Knox’s as he smirked, "And I’m holding my dream right now, Mr. Arden."

"...what..." Knox mumbled, dumbfounded. His body stiffened when Azrael brushed the tip of his nose on his. However, standing closer to each other for a few minutes, Knox realized sothing. "Hey! You don’t have a fever at all! You’re even cooler than I am!"

"I didn’t say I have a fever, Knox," Azrael defended, grinning from ear to ear.

Knox frowned, "You said you were sick!"

"Yeah. I’m...what do you call that word when soone behaves strangely and foolishly over missing soone they like who can’t even send a simple ssage for a week, not even a period?" Azrael asked Knox, faking ignorance. He wiggled his eyebrows up and down, watching the oga’s reaction.

Knox gaped at him. The man was making him feel guilty. However, he knew well how to handle his teasing already. He rolled his eyes and took a side step, pulling the chopping board as he moved. "Then, I’m leaving after I cooked lunch for you."

"How cold. I’m just joking," Azrael scooched closer to Knox, ignoring the latter’s glare. "Besides, I’m going sowhere after lunch, so I’ll need you to drive for ."

"Where?"

"Hospital," Azrael waved his bandaged right hand to Knox. "Kayden had been calling

since the other day, but how can I go, when I can’t even drive with these hands."

"You drove just fine before," Knox whispered, recalling the ti he saw him in the hospital.

"Saying sothing?"

Knox shook his head and puckered his lips at the living room, "Then, stay there in the anti. You’re a disturbance."

Azrael pouted, and earnestly suggested, "I can help."

Knox arched his brows at him, "How? You can’t even drive with those hands, right?"

Azrael laughed lightly, amusent dancing in his eyes, "Driving is different from cooking, Knox."

"Yeah, yeah, get lost," Knox replied dismissively and minced the garlic next.

Instead of leaving, Azrael stayed and watched him silently. Knox turned to him, asking why he was still there. The alpha spoke with anticipation, "You said there’s sothing you want to tell . What is it?"

Knox froze.

Azrael waited for his answer patiently. Knox averted his eyes. He still hasn’t thought what to say. Should he just blurted out – ’You have a son, and you already t him.’

What will Azrael’s reaction be?

Knox swallowed the lump in his throat and let out a deep breath. "I...I want you to et soone..."

Azrael furrowed his brows wondering who it was, then his face brightened after, thinking – ’Is he going to introduce

to his father already? Oho, look at him. He’s so cute.’ Out of excitent, he jumped Knox and hugged him from the back, rubbing his head on his shoulder as he tightened his embrace.

"H-Hey!"

Azrael smiled widely, peeking up at Knox without lifting his head, "Alright. Let’s et him later!"

"What?! No, you need to go to the hospital! T-Tomorrow! Let’s et him tomorrow!" Knox hysterically answered, unprepared for Azrael’s unexpected reaction.

Azrael frowned a little. However, the joy of being introduced by Knox to his family overwheld his impatience. He laughed and obediently nodded his head. Finally, Knox was letting him in his life. He planted a kiss on Knox’s head and mumbled, "There’s also sothing I want to show you."

Knox looked up at him, giving him a quizzical look. Azrael smiled, "I’ll show you later."

His eyes glead. Knox was left wondering what it was. He gave up shrugging the alpha away from his back and just continued preparing lunch with a piece of baggage clinging behind him.
