Chapter 176: Sandro’s odd findings [2]

"Is there sothing wrong? Who was it?"

Azrael’s wandering mind was hurled back to the present by Knox’s soft and worried voice. He rose from the bed and approached Azrael, sporting a troubled face. Did another problem arise again? Why does another keep appearing after we solved one? Knox thought, grumbling inwardly.

Azrael sighed and brought Knox back to the bed. He placed the phone on the nightstand and carefully slipped under the covers.

Knox lay between Knoa and Azrael, and once they were both settled, after gathering the oga in his arms, Azrael began telling him about Sandro’s report.

After a while, Knox asked curiously, "Do you have an idea why he wants to et your father?"

Azrael hugged Knox tightly and buried his face in the crevice of his neck, his other hand reaching for the little guy lying next to his Papa. "No. I can’t think of any. Tomorrow, I have to go and et Sandro...also, let’s go back ho tomorrow..."

The alpha’s voice slowly drifted to sleep. Knox patted the arm resting over his stomach and soon surrendered in the lullaby of his family’s warmth.

The next morning, the inevitable happened. Knox and his family had no choice but to eat breakfast with the Horace family, Geraldine included, because it is a routine that the chairman always strictly practiced – eating breakfast together when they stayed in the mansion.

Fortunately, the morning seed bright to the mistress of the house, as she didn’t pick at Knox and his son, and casually talked with her husband and her children.

Although the three felt like air to her, Athan and Althea would occasionally strike up a conversation with Knox and Azrael, while the little guy would exchange cheery smiles and small random talks with the chairman.

Before they left, Geraldine approached Knox, a genuine smile plastered on her face, taking Knox aback. Soon, he learned why the mada looked happy and content.

"I’ve forgotten the sole purpose of this family eting with your beau because of my hatred for you, but I guessed I should start clapping my hands at you for being finally useful for once," Geraldine said with twinkling eyes.

Knox furrowed his brows, confused and unaware of what those words ant. "What do you an?"

Geraldine sneered before answering, "Nathaniel and your boyfriend reached another agreent involving business-related matters. I must say, it was a fair deal, risky, yes...but the DV Group is still a huge company that can help the Horizon Corporation in solidifying its position in this country."

Geraldine smiled and patted Knox’s cheeks. Before she turned away and left, she whispered to Knox in a sarcastic tone, "I guess your love story isn’t that pure at all."

Knox was rooted in his spot. He watched the old woman’s retreating figure; his mind was lost in thinking why Azrael didn’t say anything about that.

He was standing at the entrance of the mansion while waiting for Azrael and Knoa to co down when another car rolled in the front. Knox narrowed his eyes at the black car, it was familiar, but he couldn’t put his tongue on where he saw the vehicle before.

Roy stepped out of the car, bowing at Knox at an obtuse angle like he was so mafia boss. Knox pointed at the car and asked Azrael’s personal bodyguard, "Do you own this car?"

Roy, although baffled, nodded his head, "Yes, sir."

Knox recalled the tis Roy drove for them, but every ti, they were using Azrael’s car. This might be the first ti he saw the car, so how co it looks familiar? A light bulb suddenly turned on in his head.

It was the car that chased us before! When we were in the shopping district! Knox exclaid in recognition. He pointed at the car, then at the owner who looked confused at his actions. Footsteps ca from behind him and he looked back; his eyes were greeted by Azrael and Knoa’s happy faces.

They seed happy that their leaving the mansion. Knox could understand why Azrael was like that, but why did Knoa look excited as well?

"Papa, let’s watch movies!"

So, that’s why, Knox thought, shaking his head at the grinning father and son. "Will it be fine?"

Azrael winked at him, "Of course. I already prepared everything, so let’s just go on a family date today."

"Well, if it’s okay then let’s go. The sky looks brighter today anyway," Knox replied, looking up at the morning sky.

Knoa bead, "Yey!"

Knox pinched his son’s chubby cheeks and laughed at the rry atmosphere. His family and Azrael were good, and his son looked happier. Knox couldn’t ask for more. He felt contentnt and surging emotions deep inside him.

His eyes went past the two and saw the dejected looks on his father’s and Athan’s faces, seemingly unwilling to let Knoa go already. He approached them and gave them a warm smile, speaking gratefully, "Thank you for having us, Athan, D-Dad..."

Nathaniel subtly smiled, satisfied at hearing his youngest call him more affectionately than before, but his words were opposite from his warm gaze, "If you encounter hardship along the way, don’t endure and just leave that man. If he can’t ensure a flowery path for you, then he doesn’t deserve you."

Athan nodded in agreent, "Dump him if he ever makes you cry."

Knox smiled, aware that the two were just jesting. Before he could answer though, a hand grabbed his waist already and beat him into it.

"Expect a wedding invitation anyti soon, Chairman Horace, and brother-in-law. Until then, please keep those kinds of advice to yourselves," Azrael jokingly replied. He nodded at the two and guided Knox to the waiting car.

Knox caught sight of his sister descending the stairs through the tall glass walls of the mansion. He waved at her when their eyes t, and the female alpha waved back at him with a smile.

Another hurdle in their relationship was overco, and even if Geraldine’s words weighed on his mind, he won’t stupidly jump to conclusions and believe anything without hearing Azrael’s explanation.

They rode Azrael’s car, driven by another bodyguard while Roy sat on the passenger seat, and the family of three was in the back seat. Roy’s car followed them, driven by his team consisting of three mbers.

Knoa expressed his excitent and Azrael played along with him. As they passed the trees on the highway shedding their leaves on the sidewalks, Knox was suddenly reminded of sothing he hadn’t done with Azrael before.

He spun his head and t Azrael’s warm gaze, as though he knew what was going on in his mind, and was ready to give whatever he wanted.

Knox rested his head on the alpha’s shoulder and played with Knoa’s arm, waving it gently, then he muttered, "We should visit Mom and Dad, too. I’m sure they’ll like you."

Pushing the oga’s head closer to him, Azrael responded lovingly, "I know. I’m just too lovable, aren’t I?"

Knoa agreed, jumping on his Daddy’s lap, while his Papa just laughed and hugged them tighter, softly whispering words of affection and appreciation for his complete and happy family.
