Chapter 135: Future possibility
Knox stared at the three alphas planning their so-called escape.
Several minutes ago, before Azrael, Rian, and Ragel sat facing each other and started to discuss the escape plan seriously, Knox and the forr were together.
It was the fifth day of visiting the orphanage. Even the director was beginning to wonder why they were doing consecutive visits, and yet all they did was bring als but not engage with the kids.
It was starting to get obvious that the two, Azrael and Knox, were just coming to flirt, while Ragel and Rian were busy making excuses whenever the director would wonder where they were, and sotis, they would even watch Knox play with Aresh.
Finally, Rian snapped. He sprung from his seat and exclaid, ’How dare they!’ He was reminded of the white sticky fluid he saw in the children’s room and thought that the reason Azrael kept dragging his boyfriend was to do lewd things in the orphanage. Of course, Knox must have pushed the bastard and denied him, but knowing his friend, Rian could imagine the tricks under his sleeves to make the oga submit.
’We must stop this outrageous set-up!’ He exclaid and pointed at Ragel. ’Go and find those two, and drag them here. Tell them it’s urgent! If they don’t co imdiately, say that Knoa kissed soone on the cheeks!’
Ragel scrunched his face at Rian’s funny behavior. The latter widened his eyes at him and added, ’Hurry, or else this whole place will reek of sperm!’
Ragel was baffled. ’What did he even an?’ He asked himself. Only when Rian lifted his hands and acted his right index finger going inside his left hand shaped as an O, did Ragel realize the aning. He sprung up on his feet and incredulously gaped at the older alpha, ’No way!’
Rian fud, ’It’s a possibility. Where do you think those two keep disappearing, hm? And what else are they supposed to do together when they leave their son here? Knoa is cute and I don’t mind babysitting him, but for goodness’ sake! It’s an orphanage! What if a child enters the wrong room?! The children are still too young to know how they’re made!’
Ragel nodded. ’Okay.’ He put his thumbs up to Rian and cocked his head at Knoa, ’Watch him for
then.’
’That goes without saying,’ Rian rolled his eyes and nudged his head, telling Ragel to be on his way already.
And so, going back to the present, after earning a punch from Azrael, Rian suggested an escape plan for them.
’I still can’t believe they would think we were doing naughty things in this place! What? The whole place will reek of sperm?’ Knox exclaid inwardly. He pald his face after the mories of their first day at the orphanage ca to mind. Guilt and sha washed over him, still, it didn’t make his mood better. ’How did Rian even know that we did sothing? Did Azrael tell him?!’
He narrowed his eyes at the two childhood friends busy in planning. Rian skillfully avoided his scrutinizing gaze as if he had so eyes at the back of his head, while Azrael just humd and whistled, pretending like he did nothing.
Ragel embarrassedly t his eyes and quickly averted his gaze after.
Knox sighed. Perhaps, if Ragel hadn’t co, Azrael would have done sothing more again. Still, they weren’t disappearing solely to do that! Azrael was planning to host a surprise party for Knoa and he kept asking what are the child’s favorite things.
’I can’t wait for the next year to celebrate his birthday. I want to celebrate it now, those three years I missed,’ Azrael’s voice echoed in Knox’s head. He couldn’t refute him or deny his wishes. Since they both know that after they return ho, Knoa won’t be able to spend more ti with him again.
He barely managed the alpha to give him ti to convince his father, and if he refused to do just that, he feared that Azrael would just jump the plans and kidnap them both. Although getting kidnapped certainly gave him so nightmares, if the kidnapper is Azrael, Knox won’t mind at all.
"Ehem! So, this is the plan," Rian caught all their attention. Knox focused his ears on him even though his eyes were following Knoa and Aresh a few ters away from them. Rian continued, "You guys will leave this place using my car. That’s all."
Ragel whispered, "All these planning for that one sentence..."
Rian chuckled as he heard what the younger alpha mumbled, "Hey, it’s the conclusion. Knox’s bodyguards are parked outside the gates. Do they check on you?" He asked Knox. The latter shook his head. "I thought so, too. I never see them co inside once they dropped you here. So, that ans, as long as they don’t check and you co back before they get suspicious, then there’s no problem."
Rian looked at Knoa, "The little kid looks happy just playing with his new friend, but I’m sure he’ll be happier if he gets to spend this vacation with his fathers on the beach. Why not visit the island and co back before the sun sets? If the guards co and ask to see you, I’ll just say you are in a eting with the director."
"You’re not coming with us?" asked Knox.
Rian shook his head and responded lightly, "Nah. I’ve seen the place a hundred tis. How about you? Do you want to go with them?" he glanced at Ragel.
Ragel quickly answered, "I don’t. I an, I’ve seen the place a thousand tis. Besides, I ca here with Sir Knox, so if the guards don’t see , they will wonder where he is as well."
"That’s true. Then, I guess, you’ll just be my company for today. Hm, not bad," Rian grinned. He winked at the younger alpha who returned him a disgusted glare.
Azrael looked back and forth at the two, before shrugging his shoulders. Why did he feel that Rian was purposely separating Ragel from them? Well, it didn’t matter, and it was actually in his favor, so he just quietly agreed.
He stood and held out his hand to Rian, "Okay. Problem solved. Give
your keys."
Rian gave it to him as he warningly reminded him, "Be back before the sun sets."
Knox reassured the guy. Azrael went and took the car, while Knox turned to Ragel and remarked, "I’m sorry you’re getting dragged on this. But thank you for helping us."
Ragel scratched his head and nodded, his cheeks a bit flushed. "It’s nothing. I also... want Knoa to be happy...enjoy your ti together."
Knox smiled gratefully. He turned to Rian who dismissed him with a wave and a friendly smile. After that, he walked to Knoa and inford him of their plans. Hearing this, Knoa’s face brightened with excitent.
"I’m going! I want to see the beach!" He exclaid animatedly. However, he suddenly paused and slowly glanced over his shoulder.
Tracing his line of sight, Aresh’s dejected countenance ca to Knox’s vision. Knoa looked back at him with hopeful eyes. Even without his saying it, Knox already knew what he wanted. He sighed and glanced at Rian who was watching them.
He then carefully asked, "Can I take him with us?"
Aresh’s eyes widened. A glimr of hope dashed in them, but he halted and imdiately shook his head, claiming, "N-No...no, you don’t have to take , sir! It’s your family’s outing, I would not dare to intrude!"
Knox mused, ’This kid speaks so politely and maturely. How co?’
Knoa frowned, "But you said you wanted to show
the beach if you could, brother Aresh! Papa and Daddy will surely be together always, so you have to co with !"
Knox almost choked on his words after hearing what his son stated. He heard Rian laugh, so he embarrassedly told his son, "Hey...we’re not going to leave you alone, baby. You, , and Daddy will explore the whole beach..."
"You’re not? But Uncle Rian said that you’ll give
a brother that’s why you always are together," Knoa replied with a pout. "Does that an I won’t have a baby brother?"
Knox was rendered speechless. He faked a smile even though so of the veins on his temple were showing already, ready to lash out at the crazy alpha spouting nonsense to a kid. He glanced over his shoulder and sent daggers to the said alpha, but Ragel was the one who got stabbed instead.
Ragel spoke nervously, "H-He said he’s going to ask the director for permission to bring Aresh along."
’That guy!’ Knox grumbled. ’I thought he’s the more sensible and mature among Azrael’s friends. I guess not.’
A staff approached Knox and briefed him on the regulations for taking out a child on a trip. He was told of the curfew and so information about Aresh, which made Knoa leave in shock.
"Then, wait here, Sir Knox, I’ll go pack Aresh so clothes," the staff said and left.
Knox’s gaze moved to the six-year-old kid who was talking cheerfully with Knoa, expressing his excitent for the unplanned trip. His eyes shone with pity at the kid, recalling what the staff told him.
’Aresh was found on the beach injured by starfish. He was left by his mother, and without a guardian, he almost died if not treated imdiately. Because of that, he is afraid of them, so makes sure not to let any starfish in his sight. Also, he had an allergy to any kind of seafood. So, please watch what you’re going to feed him carefully.’
"He says he wanted to show Knoa the beach, even though he might find a starfish along the way..." Knox mumbled to himself, admiring the kid’s courage and kindness. He was still annoyed at Rian for sowing the idea of ’having another brother’ to Knoa’s mind, but looking at him brightly smiling with Aresh, Knox ca to realize he wasn’t against it.
’Aresh is a good kid, mature and kind, and he seems to like Knoa a lot,’ Knox pondered.
As he watched the two kids while waiting for the staff to return, a thought dashed in his head, followed by a picture of a distant and possible future.
