The reason why the Old Chief wasn’t so guarded against Zhao Hai was because he believed that Zhao Hai ant them no harm. The Old Chief knew about the True Spirit Realm as well as the grudge they have with the Ghost Cultivators. If Zhao Hai wanted to attack them, he wouldn’t have co on his own. In the end, the Old Chief decided to bet on Zhao Hai. The Old Chief understood that if Zhao Hai was being honest, then the Red Goblins would get their biggest chance to fight against the Ghost Cultivators.
Although the Old Chief was already in the latter parts of his life, his mind wasn’t muddled. He knew clearly that the current Red Goblins have no way to fight against the Ghost Cultivators. Even if a genius appeared in the future that could invent a cultivation thod, it would still be very hard for them to fight.
When the Ghost Cultivators entered the underground world, they had a complete cultivation system while the Red Goblins had nothing. It was like a group of army veterans going against a group of toothless babies. There was no competition.
However, how could it be so easy to create a cultivation thod? The Old Chief was a genius himself. Not only was he able to learn how to read and write, he also secretly studied the cultivation thods of the Ghost Cultivators. Because of this, he had the ambition to create a cultivation thod that suited the Red Goblins. But in the end, he failed and beca disabled.
Now that Zhao Hai brought him a cultivation thod for the Red Goblins, the Old Chief was naturally excited. He wanted to see if Zhao Hai was speaking the truth.
The mont the Old Chief read through the cultivation thod, he imdiately knew that it was completely suited for the Red Goblins.
The Red Goblins might have a humanoid form, but they still have so differences with humans, especially in their ridians.
Because of the difference between ridians, the Old Chief’s created cultivation thod failed in the end. Not only did he injure his ridians, he also caused his legs to beco useless.
It was because of this experience that the Old Chief had so understanding regarding the ridians of the Red Goblins. He could see that Zhao Hai’s cultivation thod suited the Red Goblins precisely because the ridians that the cultivation thod traced were the ridians of the Red Goblins, not the ridians of humans.
Most importantly, to practice the cultivation thod, the Red Goblins would need to make use of the earthfire pillars. With the help of the Earthfire Pillar’s strength, the Red Goblins would progress bit by bit. This was the most terrifying thing about the cultivation thod.
The Earthfire Pillars are the most important structures of the underground world. Ghost Cultivators wouldn’t dare move the pillars lightly. Not only because of the Earthfire Pillars’ strength, but also because the underground world wouldn’t allow the Earthfire Pillars to be moved.
Earthfire Pillars were the equivalent to the sun of the surface world. The underground world not having earthfire pillars was the sa as the True Spirit Realm not having a sun.
It was true that the Ghost Cultivators liked dark environnts, but it was also impossible for them to completely remove the sun. Even if Ghost Cultivators don’t bask in the sunlight, they can’t live without it. Because of this, nobody in the underground world had any thoughts of removing the Earthfire Pillars.
Earthfire Pillars were everywhere in the underground world. The Rebel Army’s camp even has an Earthfire Pillar in the middle. Naturally, with the camp being underground, the Earthfire Pillar stretched from the ceiling to the floor.
Unlike Ghost Cultivators, the Red Goblins weren’t afraid of the Earthfire Pillars. Conversely, Red Goblins treated Earthfire Pillars as their totems. They believe that their race was born from the Earthfire Pillars. If conditions permit, dead Red Goblins would be cremated under Earthfire Pillar fires. This was considered as the best outco for a Red Goblin.
The cultivation thod that Zhao Hai gave the Old Chief had a major dependence on Earthfire Pillars. With the support of the Earthfire Pillars, the Red Goblins would be able to cultivate faster. Their strength would also increase if they were around Earthfire Pillars.
After being trapped by the cultivation thod for quite so ti, the Old Chief finally woke up. He took a deep breath before he looked at Zhao Hai.
All this ti, Zhao Hai patiently waited for the Old Chief to wake up. The Old Chief put the beastskin scroll down, then he did his best to stand up and bowed towards Zhao Hai before saying, “Red Clay thanks Mister Zhao Hai. Mister has done the Earthfire Clan a great favor. The Earthfire Clan will never forget this grace.”
It was also at this ti that Zhao Hai heard the self-proclaid na of the Red Goblins. As it turns out, they call themselves the Earthfire Clan. And the Old Chief seed to be called Red Clay.
Zhao Hai cupped his fist and then said, “Chief Red Clay is too polite. Your clan is most suited for this cultivation thod. And this cultivation thod was researched by with the help of so friends.”
At this ti, Chief Red Clay looked at Zhao Hai in confusion, “Mister, I can see that this cultivation thod is very compatible with our clan. Our ridians are very different from humans. Mister, what relationship do your friends have with our clan?”
Zhao Hai smiled faintly and said, “You might actually be close. However, they took a different route than your Earthfire Clan. To be honest, your two races look similar, but the color of your skins are different.” After saying that, Zhao Hai waved his hand and took out a few photos and handed them over to the Old Chief.
The photos showed the Goblin Race. They showed the life of the Goblins in the Space, which made them look real. It was the first ti that the Old Chief had seen their image. It was surprising to see a race that looked like them but had a different skin color.
Chief Red Clay raised his head and stared at Zhao Hai who smiled faintly and said, “They are called the Goblin Race. They don’t live in the True Spirit Realm but in another world. They are living very well, and they are my friends.”
Red Clay didn’t say anything but just nodded, “So that’s the case. Then he looked down at the photos once more before handing them back to Zhao Hai. Then he said, “Mister, this cultivation thod is very suitable for our Earthfire Clan. However, there are very few people in our clan that know how to cultivate. I’m afraid we won’t be able to increase our strength in a short period of ti.”
Zhao Hai nodded and said, “I know this. I didn’t say that I want the Red Goblins to fight against the Ghost Cultivators imdiately. That would be asking too much from you. But if you start cultivating now, then even if you can’t fight on equal grounds against Ghost Cultivators, you would still be able to save more Red Goblins. Sooner or later, you will have enough strength to fight.”
Hearing Zhao Hai, Red Clay thought about it before he nodded. He initially thought that Zhao Hai wanted the Red Goblins to imdiately wage war against the Ghost Cultivators. But now, it seems like they have so ti to prepare. At the sa ti, the Old Chief couldn’t help but be thankful towards Zhao Hai.
Looking at the Old Chief’s expression, Zhao Hai smiled faintly and said, “I’ll be here for a few days and guide you in cultivation. But I won’t be staying for long.”
Chief Red Clay felt grateful towards Zhao Hai once again as he said, “Thank you, Mister. Our clan will do our best to not disappoint you.”
Zhao Hai smiled faintly and said, “There’s no need to be too polite. The Old Chief should tell your clan about your situation. We have been inside for so ti. They might be worried about you.”
When he heard Zhao Hai, Chief Red Clay couldn’t help but smile. Then he imdiately said, “Yes, Mister is right. Soone, co inside!” As soon as he said this, a few elites entered the cave. All of them looked vigilantly at Zhao Hai.
Seeing this, the Old Chief imdiately said, “Don’t be impolite to Mister. From now on, Mister is a great benefactor to the Earthfire Clan. He will be our clan’s first Sage, the one who taught our clan how to cultivate. Pass my order, nobody is allowed to be impolite to Mister.”
The elite Red Goblins couldn’t help but stare as they looked confused at Red Clay. They seem to have misheard what the Old Chief said. As he looked at his subordinates, the Old Chief sighed and said, “Mister is different from other humans. He’s here to help us. He cured my legs and also gave us a cultivation thod that we can practice. He has given our clan a new life. Rember, we cannot disrespect him.”
Although the Red Goblins were confused, they could hear choice words from the Old Chief’s mouth. One of them imdiately looked at the Old Chief and said, “Chief, your legs, can you stand?”
Chief Red Clay laughed and said, “Mister has cured my legs. But because I have been crippled for so ti, my muscles need to develop. It will take a few days before I can recover. Red Stream, give Mister a place to stay. Rember, be respectful.”
Zhao Hai stood up and cupped his fist towards the Old Chief and said, “Chief, I will take my leave first. I’ll leave the arrangents to you. I might not be able to stay here for a long ti. So, I will have to leave you with teaching the other Red Goblins. Cultivate the ones with talent and have them go out and spread the cultivation thod to the other Red Goblins groups. Then when the ti cos, all Red Goblins would be able to cultivate.”
Chief Red Clay nodded, “Thanks Mister for the advice. Mister, please take your rest.” Zhao Hai cupped his fist once more before leaving.
