Chapter 12

Zaiyila pouted. "That won't do. If I finish your money for you, you'll have the chance to chase away in the future," she remarked, looking at him.

Everett laughed. "You're worried about this?" he inquired, and Zaiyila nodded. "Then I assure my bride today that your wealth is inexhaustible. As for abandoning you, that's impossible. My life is in your hands." He kissed her forehead.

Zaiyila smiled, not thinking too much about what he said. "I heard you, but I can't waste the food you cooked. I'll warm it up," she insisted.

Everett furrowed his brows.

"Eve, you said you would always listen to ," Zaiyila reminded him, staring at him with an irresistibly cute expression.

Everett sighed. "It's not that I don't want to listen, it's just that before you insisted, I had already disposed of it," he explained.

Zaiyila's expression froze. "You... you..." She didn't know what to say anymore.

"I'm sorry, my Queen," he murmured, pressing a kiss to her shoulder. "I'll make another one for you now. Before you finish bathing, everything will be ready." Before she could reply, he vanished imdiately.

"I..." Zaiyila realized he had disappeared and sighed. She sat up on the bed and covered her mouth with the blanket to suppress the sound of her scream. "My... my! It's true that bad luck sotis leads to good luck," she murmured, feeling endless happiness. "Since this isn't a dream, then was I truly sacrificed to him? After that, he took a liking to and decided to make his bride!" She laughed and rushed toward the mirror. "Ah, my beauty, it's not entirely a disaster," she murmured, praising herself until her gaze fell on the tattoo on her shoulder. "Now that I'm paying attention to it, it's very pretty," she thought, gently rubbing the head.

Everett was in the kitchen cooking when he suddenly felt soone rubbing his head. His eyes glowed instantly before returning to normal. "What exactly is she thinking now?" he wondered, sighing. He continued cooking, trying to stay focused, but then his mighty horns revealed themselves in excitent, and his eyes glowed once again.

"Ah..." He exhaled a hot breath and clenched the cabinet tightly. "Surely this is my punishnt for my past deeds," he thought, trying to stay calm. He was now feeling a burning heat inside him. His lower body transford from the waist down into a massive, gigantic tail covered in hard, rock-like scales of a deep red hue. His eyes continued glowing, and his breath beca unsteady.

He looked into the distance, about to escape, when suddenly the heat he was feeling vanished, and he returned to his normal state.

"My dear Queen, your way of taking revenge is always unique," he murmured before finishing up the food he was preparing.

Zaiyila, completely oblivious to the trouble she had just caused, stopped caressing the snake tattoo on her shoulder and went to the bathroom, ready to bathe.

---

Zaiyila, dressed in a beautiful short skirt and black army boots, slowly descended the stairs. Her long, snow-white legs were elegantly displayed, and her top—a spaghetti-strap blouse—revealed the mighty snake tattoo on her shoulder.

"Eve, I just checked the ti and realized it's already late. Can you still go to work? Will your boss scold you?" she asked worriedly.

Everett was about to respond, but Zaiyila quickly interrupted.

"I'm the one who made you late. Should I follow you to the office and beg your boss along with you? I will shoulder the consequences," she declared, looking serious.

Everett's mouth twitched. "My Queen, if I'm not the boss, are you really planning on eting him? Don't you know how beautiful you are!" he thought. "Err, there's no need to bother about—"

"No! You can't lose your job because of !" she exclaid and imdiately ran toward him, tears welling up in her eyes. "We haven't even been together for a week, yet he's about to lose his job and all that was because of . Am I really cursed?" she thought.

Everett frowned and pressed a kiss to her cherry-red, seductive lips. "Dear Queen, I'm the boss. There's no need to panic," he inford her.

Zaiyila's eyes widened in shock. "You're the boss?!" she gasped, covering her mouth with her hands.

Everett pulled her hands down. "Really, so you don't have to worry about that," he assured her with a warm smile.

Zaiyila bit her lower lip. "But even so, you can't slack off because of ," she remarked, blinking beautifully at him.

"My Queen, I'm not slacking off. But I'll always listen to you anyway. Eat sothing first, don't lose your appetite," he urged and sat her down on a chair.

Zaiyila wanted to say more, but Everett imdiately brought a spoonful of food to her mouth. "About your school, you will start studying tomorrow," he ntioned.

As expected, Zaiyila's attention was imdiately diverted. She swallowed her food quickly and looked at Everett with wide eyes. "Ah! You arranged it already!" she exclaid in excitent.

Everett smiled and nodded.

Zaiyila was so happy she felt like jumping around. "But... but I heard there's always an entrance test for freshers. I haven't prepared yet, and I don't know anyone to lend books," she murmur, furrowing her brows.

"My Queen doesn't need all that. Just go to class, and if you get tired of school, I'll—"

"How could I get tired! I will surely make you proud!" she declared with determination.

Everett sighed and fed her another spoonful. "Alright, my Queen. Once you graduate, I'll definitely give you a big surprise," he promised.

Zaiyila's eyes sparkled with excitent. "Can you give a hint of the surprise?" she inquired eagerly.

Everett shook his head and fed her another spoonful. "Nope."

Zaiyila pouted. "Hmph, you will eventually reveal it once I graduate. I will definitely graduate faster!" she vowed. "But the entrance test..."

"I said there's no need, so there's no need. My Queen shouldn't worry about little things like this," Everett reassured her, his warm smile never fading.

Zaiyila was in a daze for a while before nodding. She tiptoed and gave him a quick peck on the lips—but how could that alone satisfy the devil?

Seizing the opportunity, Everett wrapped his arms around her waist, lifting her off the chair and pulling her into a deeper kiss.

Zaiyila's face flushed as Everett finally broke the kiss, though she clearly wanted more. "Eat more first," he coaxed with a smirk, continuing to feed her.
