Chapter 261: Chapter 261

Lyra

So... how do I even begin to explain what just happened? I an, technically, I could give you the clean, polite version, "we spent the rest of the flight enjoying each other’s company" but that would make

a liar, and lying to you feels pointless when my hair still slls like Damon’s cologne and my legs are still doing that awkward post-sex wobble every ti I move.

Let’s just say there was a mont, okay, several monts, where I was ninety percent sure we were going to get kicked off the plane midair.

You ever try to be quiet when soone is literally ruining you in a leather seat designed for business etings? Yeah, exactly. Not possible. I think I bit my own hand so hard at one point just to keep from screaming that I left teeth marks, and he just laughed against my skin like the smug Alpha he is.

Also, I may have accidentally hit the little flight attendant call button with my foot in the middle of... well, you know.

And Damon — oh my God — Damon didn’t even flinch. He looked

dead in the eyes and said, "Don’t stop," like we were in so kind of filthy action movie and a bomb would go off if I let go of him.

Thankfully, no one ca in, because if they had, they would’ve had front-row seats to sothing that would’ve gotten

banned from air travel forever.

By the ti we landed, my hair was a ss, my shirt was on backwards, don’t ask how, I genuinely do not know and Damon had that look like he was ready to carry

off the plane like so victorious wolf king who had just claid his prize. Which, to be fair, he kind of had.

Now here we are, driving toward the pack house, and my brain is doing this weird thing where it’s trying to process everything.

The sex, the fact that Tasha is sowhere behind us in another car, the reality that I’m about to live in the middle of an actual wolf pack as the Luna, and the tiny detail that I’m pregnant with the Alpha’s babies.

No pressure, right?

All I need to do is calm down. You know, don’t overthink. Keep breathing. Pretend I’m just... moving into a nice big house in the countryside with my ridiculously hot Alpha mate slash baby daddy and not the literal headquarters of an entire pack who probably already knows way too much about .

But I couldn’t help but wonder. Will I see his mum? Does he have a mum? Oh my God, what if I see his mum. What if she hates

on sight because I’m young and pregnant and already look like I’ve been through a hurricane?

And his sisters! Brothers! Do they exist? Are there cousins? Is there a terrifying grandma who sits in a rocking chair and judges

with her eyes? Well... technically, Damon hasn’t said anything concerning them.

Which could either an they’re all dead, they’re all in hiding, or he’s deliberately keeping

from knowing about them because he thinks I’ll embarrass him.

Okay. Calm down, Lyra. You’re fine— nope, nope, calm down, calm down. Do not freak out before you even see the front gates. Breathe.

Smile. Pretend you belong here, even if deep down you feel like you’re about to walk into the season finale of so wolf version of a family soap opera.

In no ti we got to the gate, and honestly, what we saw was horrifying. The compound was big — I an extrely big, the kind of big that made

feel like my entire hotown could fit inside and still have room left over for a football field, a swimming pool, and maybe a mall. I am not even kidding.

Okay, maybe I am exaggerating just a little, but not really, because this place was massive. The road stretched so far inside that I could barely see the end of it.

There were houses everywhere, like sobody had been playing The Sims on god mode and decided to build a bunch of luxury hos just because they could.

I kept trying to take it all in, craning my neck left and right like a tourist on her first trip to Disneyland, except this wasn’t Disneyland.

This was Damon-land. And unlike Disneyland, there were actual wolves — real, living, breathing wolves — prowling the edges of the grounds with that sharp, hungry look that made

wonder if they’d been trained to attack on command.

Which, knowing Damon, they probably had. And honestly, I could already feel their eyes on

through the tinted glass, and my brain started doing that thing where it overthinks everything.

Were they sniffing

out? Could they sll that I was new? Could they sll that I was pregnant? Oh my God, could they sll what we did on the plane?

But then I saw it.The burnt house.

And my brain instantly started spiraling again. Who the hell would burn down sothing like this? This wasn’t just property damage — this was personal. Did soone break in?
