In one of New York’s extravagant nightclubs —

The party was in full swing. The drinks were being served, people were twirling and dancing on the beats without a care in the world —partially because they didn’t have to care for the money they were spending tonight.

"Bryn, aren’t you afraid you will spend too much tonight?" one of Bryn’s mates asked.

However, instead of getting concerned, Bryn just smirked arrogantly. "What’s there to be afraid of? The last thing I lack in this world is money. Did you forget which family I co from?"

His group of friends exchanged looks before one of them dared to say, "But are you sure about that? I an, people haven’t yet accepted you as a Winslow and —" before he could complete, soone held him back.

It was a sore spot for Bryn, and everyone was aware of it. Hence, no one dared to ntion —not because it scared him. But because they didn’t care. As long as Bryn was spending money on them, they were there to enjoy.

They expected Bry to react the sa way he always did. However, this ti, staring at them, Bryn didn’t look at all offended. Instead, he poured himself another drink before raising it for a toast.

When everyone stared at him in confusion, he smiled and explained, "Cheers to the change that will be happening soon." He looked confident about sothing that no one there could guess.

They all exchanged a few glances, but in the end, no one asked anything. They just went to focus on the free party and the drinks they were getting.

But just when the party would have reached its peak, the music was suddenly put on a pause. Before anyone could understand what was happening, a few n clad in black uniforms stepped inside.

"What’s happening?"

"Who are they?"

"Are they here for soone?"

The whispers filled the space, but no one received any answer. They all kept on speculating until they saw the n coming and circling Bryn.

When Bryn saw them, his brows also furrowed. With a frown, he asked, "What do you want?"

However, instead of giving him an answer, a man grabbed him by the collar, roughly pulling him to stand on his feet.

"You ... do you even know who I am?" Bryn sneered. "Keep your hands off or —"

Even before he could finish, he was slapped across his face. The crowd around were stunned to silence. No one spoke a word. Even Bryn was taken aback. It took him a mont to register it all.

And when he did, his eyes went red. He was about to snap; however, he was never offered any chance to. Soon after, he was dragged out of the club with everyone watching around.

It was humiliating, but Bryn didn’t know that this was nothing compared to what was coming next to him.

"Where are you taking ?" Bryn struggled, but nothing worked. Without much explanation, he was just hauled away.

His friends behind didn’t know what to do. They just watched him being taken away. Only when he was completely out of sight did they react.

"Wait, are we letting them take him like that?" soone asked, a little skeptical about what to do.

"What do you think we can do? We aren’t a match for them. Have you seen their build?"

"We can’t just let them take Bryn away. We have to do sothing."

"But what can we do?"

"Should we call his father now?" soone suddenly suggested. "I am sure he would be able to help him."

"Yes, we should call him."

Everyone agreed at once, and they quickly dialled Daffydd’s number.

anwhile —

Bryn’s world had gone dark. His eyes were blindfolded, his hands tied. Panic clawed at his chest as he realized he was taken far away.

Dread filled his heart, and the darkness around just intensified it more.

"Hey! I am warning you, ... just let go. You don’t know who I am!" His voice cracked, desperation breaking through. He waited for soone to respond, however, no response ever ca to his words. It was like there was no one to hear him.

Pulling on his arms, he tried to break free. But the ties were just as stubborn as the people around him. It wouldn’t loosen.

"Let go, and I will give you any amount of money you want. Just let free. Now."

Bryn scread and yelled, but nothing at all worked. His throat started burning, and not long after, he was so exhausted that he dozed away.

When he woke up again, he no longer felt motion around him. His feet were tied together, and his arms were tied at the back. When he tried to shift, he realized he was tied to a chair.

He had no idea how much ti had passed. But his fears told him that it’s been too long already.

"Where did you bring ?" he asked, his voice still hoarse from previous yells and screams.

But still, there was no response. It felt like he was left alone in so place where no one visited.

"I asked you sothing. Fu*king bastards, at least talk," he struggled and rocked the chair, but except for the wooden taps, nothing could be heard.

Suddenly, the leg of the chair felt stuck on sothing. Before Bryn could balance it back, it rolled off the floor with a thud, making him fall on his face.

His face didn’t hit the floor. Instead, it got into sothing else that made his nose scrunch. The filthy tallic stench beca too strong suddenly. He tried to force himself away.

But with his limbs tied, he couldn’t move at all.

"What the hell? Where am I?" he roared, feeling both mad and scared. "Untie now. Do you hear ... untie , now!"

The taps of footsteps were heard. Bryn paused when he heard it. His ears perked in the direction as he heard it slowly and slowly getting closer.

"I know you are here. Co and untie . Did you hear ? Hello ..."

The silence was deafening. Just when he thought he was getting ignored again, a force tugged at the chair he was tied to.

The force made his world spiral for a second but then it all went still. He was back to his sitting position.

"You ... who are you? What do you want?" He asked, realizing that he hadn’t still know why they have brought him here. "I —"

His words were cut off as the cloth wrapped around his eyes was tugged away. He blinked before opening his eyes to look.

And the face that first ca to his vision was no one else but Aiden’s —dark and nacing. His hands were tucked inside the pockets but one could see how tightly he had clenched them there as if resisting the urge to break soone’s face.

"Aiden, you ... you brought here?" Bryn breath caught. He asked with a frown. "What do you think you are doing?"

"What do you think I am doing?" Aiden’s words ca through the grit of his teeth.

Bryn’s heart panicked when he heard this cold and dark tone. "Aiden, don’t play this stupid ga with . Just tell why you brought here like this. And —"

The rest of his words was stuck in his throat when he suddenly rembered sothing and glanced down at the floor.

His stomach dropped. His face blanched.

On the floor around him lay bodies. Dozens of them. Blood pooled thickly beneath them.

His breath caught up and he almost flinched.

"You ... you killed them," Bryn stamred, horrified. He recognized them all. He had hired them. "You killed their whole gang."

Aiden’s gaze was unflinching. "You thought I wouldn’t?"

Bryn’s entire body trembled. He knew Aiden was dangerous, but he had never imagined this. Today staring into those rciless eyes, he had no doubt.

"You are insane!" he rasped. "You can’t touch , Aiden. I am your stepbrother1 If you hurt , Dad won’t spare you!" He rocked violently against the chair, frantic. "Let go now, and I will never say a word to anyone. But if you —"

"Do you think I brought you here to let you go?" Aiden cut in coldly, stepping closer. His shadow fell over Bryn, suffocating him. "The mont you thought you could lay your hands on soone you shouldn’t even eye at; you lost that freedom."

Bryn’s pupil dilated. Terror stole his breath. "No ... no, you can’t ... I wasn’t even behind it! It was Dad! Punish him, not . Let go, I swear I will never try anything again!"

Aiden’s gaze didn’t waver. His voice remained low and lethal. "I won’t leave you capable of trying anything again."

Bryn shook his head, but Aiden turned slightly to his n.

"Let him live," he ordered, his tone was ice. "But in hell."

Tariq stepped forward and nodded. "Sir, we know what to do hereafter. Rest assured. He would survive the pain that even the dead are terrified of."
