"What are you looking at so seriously?"

Arwen paused at Aiden’s voice. She turned her head, only to see him walking into the room —confidence laced on every step, the sa effortless charm glimring in his eyes.

Unbeknownst to her, her brows were slightly knitted together —the way Aiden knew she always did when sothing was bothering or confusing her.

His gaze dropped to the phone she held in her hands. "You are looking into sothing?"

Her furrow deepened for a split second, but then, when she realized what he was referring to, she quickly blinked and composed herself. Closing the phone, she set it aside before shaking her head casually.

"Oh, nothing much. Just so details related to the new project Davies is planning to invest in."

Aiden’s eyes narrowed subtly at her. "Is it?"

Arwen glanced at him, her fingers twitching slightly against the bedsheet, before nodding firmly. "Yes. What else could it be? We are still considering the collaboration project in Sweden. However, there are also a few risks and minor potential losses that we cannot ignore entirely. So, I was just looking into it in more detail before making a decision."

Her tone was calm, but Aiden’s gaze still lingered on her phone, looking as though there was sothing that left him unconvinced.

"Do you want to take a look?" Arwen asked when she caught his eye.

He glanced back at her, studying her expression before finally giving her a small, reassuring smile. "If you think I could be of help, then show . Otherwise, I trust you. You will be able to take the right decision."

She smiled and shifted a little on the bed, patting the mattress next to her for him. Then, gazing up at him, she nodded to him. But when he didn’t move, she spoke it out in words. "Co and sit here."

Aiden stared at her for a mont before finally walking and sitting down next to her.

Arwen reached for the laptop resting on the side table, flipped it open, and pushed it gently towards him. "Here, check this out and tell what you think." She jutted her chin towards the docunt on the screen. "I value your input."

Aiden raised his brow, but obediently took the device, his gaze skimming over the details. Arwen leaned in slightly towards him, and her shoulder brushing his arm as she pointed out the sections, highlighting risks, profits, and projected outcos.

For a while, the room was quiet except for the occasional click of keys and the soft exchange of thoughts. She gave him the overview —clear and precise, and he listened —absorbing everything carefully.

When she was done, Aiden took his chance to explain a few things that she seed to have missed. It wasn’t written on the report, but if correlated and connected, those points were equally important to be noted.

Arwen, expression changed the more she heard him. And by the ti he was done, she turned with a clear glimr of appreciation in her gaze.

"Wow! Now I get why you have that na in the circle. You own it every bit,"

A faint chuckle escaped his lips, and he shook his head. "I will take that as a complint."

"Of course, that was a complint. You are charming, especially when you sit to head the board of directors," she said, taking back her laptop and closing it to set it aside.

When she turned to look, he was looking at her, arching his brows. She blinked before asking, "What?"

"When did you see ?"

She pursed her lips and replied, "I don’t need to see you. I can imagine well."

"Imagine?" he asked as if amused.

However, she nodded. "Yes, I imagine a lot. And you what’s the weirdest thing I had imagined?"

He shook his head, and she continued, "That we once shared a past —a bond that both of us have forgotten."

Aiden froze.

But Arwen smiled, shaking her head casually as though there was no serious intent behind her words. "And later, we were brought together again by destiny. Or else, what else could explain the way we match each other perfectly?"

"Moon ..."

"Huh?" she turned to him, feigning utmost nonchalance. "Don’t you feel the sa way?" she asked more directly. "That’s there’s a destiny between us?"

"Destiny?" Aiden asked.

And Arwen humd. "Yes, the destiny. It should be. Or else, what else could it be? Not a forgotten past. Could it be?"

He shook his head, and she smiled.

"Then, let’s believe that it’s a destiny —a destiny where we were ant to end up together, regardless."

He nodded, and she looked at him, her gaze for a mont turning deep. But the very next mont, that was gone.

Although she was yet to grab a hint of the truth, sothing made her feel like it was no longer as far-fetched as before. She was just a little away from knowing it all. And once she does, she wouldn’t let Aiden suffer it alone.

’Just give a little more ti, husband.’

Although her words were never uttered loudly, Aiden’s head snapped in her direction as though he heard her.

"Did you say sothing?"

Arwen was about to shake her head, but instead she nodded. "Yes, I asked you what you’re up to?"

His brows furrowed. "About what?" he asked.

She stared at him, her eyes moving over his face, taking every slightest shift of his expression. "About Ms. Martin," she said at last. "Although you didn’t ntion it loud and clear, I am sure sothing is cooking in your plans. You wouldn’t just let it slide."

Aiden’s expression hardened. He turned and looked away, and Arwen could see his jaw flex.

"What she tried to do doesn’t deserve to be ignored, Moon. She should have seen the consequences coming the mont she even thought that she could step in and separate us."

Arwen pursed her lips. Selene might not have seen it, but she had seen this coming all along. And that was why she kept on reminding and warning Selene.

Too bad, Selene never heeded to any of her reminders and warnings.
