Aiden thought for a mont, before decisively reaching for his phone again. He stared at the screen for a few seconds before dialling a number.

Even though it was already quite late at night, the call got connected after the very first few rings and Mr. Jones's voice ca through the line.

"Sir!" he greeted and Aiden humd barely in response before asking.

"Recently did sothing happen?"

The response didn't co imdiately as Mr. Jones pondered a little before answering.

"Madam and Ms. Griffin have been doing fine at ho. There doesn't seem to be anything out of the place recently. But …" he paused briefly before continuing again. "... sothing happened the day you left."

Aiden's brows furrowed.

The day he left?

"Since you were in a haste to leave for New York, I didn't get the chance to report it to you, but before Madam brought the lunch to you, she had stepped inside your old study room. It was because of my negligence." The butler added. He had thought to report it to Aiden in the evening when he returned.

However, given the sudden business trip, he didn't get the chance.

On the other end of the call, Aiden's fingers tightened around the phone's fra. "Did she find sothing there?"

Arwen hadn't ntioned anything to him, but he also knew that the room held so much of her that if she had been there for even a little while, she could feel herself in the air.

"No, sir," Mr. Jones replied. "I have been there with her the entire ti. Even though she ca across a few things, nothing got her suspicious. And soon later she had a eting scheduled, so she left without looking much around."

He still clearly rembered that day, when Arwen had co across the late lady's photograph and the jar full of chocolate wrapped folded in the shape of stars. But even looking at them, Arwen seed quite indifferent. He was sure, nothing made her suspicious.

Even though Mr. Jones seed quite confident, Aiden didn't feel the sa.

What put him at the edge was the possibility of Arwen connecting the dots. Any hint further can make her draw the connections. After all, he never hid anything from her.

As long as she tried, everything would be under her reach.

He kept it like this because previously, he wanted her to rember him, but now even if he wanted the sa, he couldn't wish it.

Arwen's current condition wouldn't allow her to rember him or their past.

anwhile …

Back in her room, Arwen stared at her reflection in the mirror. Her eyes were sharp, staring deeply at herself as if trying to find sothing on her being that wasn't visible to her naked eye.

While back in her mind it was still Aiden's words, racing as if trying to decipher the aning she couldn't understand.

She hadn't asked him to explain not because she didn't want to, but rather because she knew what would have co as his reply.

He would have either explained in terms that could have co vague, or he might have simply said sothing that would have proved her to be overthinking.

In either case, she wouldn't have been able to find out what she was trying to … Hence to save herself from more confusion, she decided to not go looking for an answer from him.

She was already confused, and she didn't want to add to her confusion.

But that doesn't an that she didn't want to solve them. She wanted to understand what it was that was making her confused.

Was it the sense of familiarity that she had always felt around Aiden?

Or, the way she had started feeling for him in such a short ti?

Or, was it the dream she had a few days back?

She simply couldn't forget the way the boy had called her Moon. It was like he had been the one who had given that na to her and that na was ant for her.

But if she had that na he had been the person to give her the na, how co except for Aiden, no one had ever called her with that na?

With so many questions going on in her, she could no longer tell what was real.

She could no longer identify if what she saw in her dream was so past she had forgotten, or if it was just her imagination.

It was confusing …

However, at the sa ti, she wanted to find out.

Especially, at tis when she felt that there was sothing that was hidden from her.

Although Aiden had never given her the willing hints that felt like they had a past together, still his gaze at tis made her feel like he held complaints against her. Like he resented her for sothing.

But even in resentnt, he never seed to bear any hatred towards her.

As she stared at herself in the mirror, his voice rang back in her ears.

I can never hide from you … you have found even in the darkest part of my life.

"I have found him," Arwen repeated, still staring at herself in the mirror. "Did I really find him? When?"

She tried hard to think back, but no matter how she tried, she couldn't recall knowing Aiden at all.

She couldn't even recall knowing soone who used to call her Moon before.

Did she forget sothing?

She knows that a part of her life was hazy in her mories, but doesn't rember at all that she has forgotten anything.

Her grandmother has said that childhood mories blur out as ti passes, and hers has also gotten blurred because of it. She had believed her because there were studies that proved it.

But could it be that her mories hadn't blurred out, instead she had forgotten sothing important? Or, soone important?

Could it be that she had forgotten the existence of Aiden from the past?

The possibility seed to be getting stronger and stronger …
