"What am I missing here?"

That voice halted Arwen in her tracks. Her brows tugged together and she quickly stepped sideways to confirm that she wasn't imagining things.

And she wasn't.

She knew it the mont she caught sight of Gianna standing there, her narrowed gaze fixed on them.

"Seems like I wasn't imagining things, and you are actually here," Arwen said, already crossing the distance to reach her friend.

She didn't realize how much she had missed her until she saw her standing there finally in front of her.

Gianna narrowed her gaze further. "Given I am present here, standing right in front of you, and responding to you, it should be obvious. But if you still feel unsure, let hug you and speak closer to your ear to help you confirm it."

Without waiting for a response, Gianna closed the distance between them and embraced Arwen tightly.

"I missed you, Wenna," Gianna said, her voice coming laced with all the emotion she had bottled up during her ti away.

Arwen smiled softly, her voice warm as she responded, "I missed you too, Anna."

And at that, Gianna at once pulled away, squinting her eyes at her. "Really? Then why don't I feel it?" she teased. "So people seem to have beco more and more engrossed in their husbands, completely forgetting about their best friend stuck abroad."

Arwen's cheeks flushed at the jab, but she quickly retorted. "Don't bla it on him. He did nothing to take the bla. He doesn't deserve it at all," she defended, before adding pointedly. "Because it was certain soone who claid the trip would only last two weeks but ended up staying away for months!"

Gianna crossed her arms, her expression mocking. "Oh, so now it's my fault, is it?"

Arwen nodded, her lips pressing into a tight smile. "Absolutely. You never told anything about the change in your plans. You just said a few more days, a few more days which later ended up being months. And now you are blaming my innocent husband. I am definitely not letting you do that."

"You …" Gianna pointed a finger but then her lips quirked up mischievously. "Innocent husband? Heh! Is he really?" she asked sarcastically. "If that man can turn you wicked, witty talker like this, he can be anything but innocent, sweetheart. Or I must say, Devil in disguise, to be exact."

Arwen opened her mouth to defend Aiden, but no words ca. Not because she had nothing to say, but because Gianna's choice of words — 'Devil in disguise ' —actually made her pause.

For a mont, she considered it, and she couldn't bring herself to refuse how well the description matched him. That tag suited him more than she cared to admit. His every action, every gesture, fitted that description.

He actually was more or less like the devil in disguise, at least his actions were.

When Gianna didn't hear Arwen speaking in response, she nudged her arm and then raised her brows, "What?" she asked, teasingly. "Did you finally realize sothing I guessed outright?"

Arwen cleared her throat and chose to switch the topic. "How about we talk about your workshop instead? I think you would have better things to share about that instead of discussing my husband when you haven't even t him."

"I haven't, that's true," Gianna accepted, shrugging. "But still I am sure I guessed him right. Given how flustered, you looked when I ntioned it, I know I have hit the bull right in its eye. What say peeps?" She asked, raising her brows in fun at the three musketeers she has known since ever.

Alia cleared his throat and responded with a grin. "I think he is going to be one hell of a handso one. If he can charm Senior Sister like this, he must have the charms for sure." As she said that, her eyes already glittered with happiness which imdiately made Gianna roll her eyes.

"Do we have a fangirl here/" she asked. "Amy, have you already t him?"

Alia shook her head. "I haven't but I am excited. Senior Sister said he would be coming to et us all later."

"Great, then hold on your horses till then. What if he isn't as good as your Senior Sister says? After all, your Senior Sister doesn't have much experience in n. Over the years she was stuck with Ryan, and when she finally got free, she got herself another one. What if he is no different?"

Alia paused and at that ti, Eira spoke. Her voice ca laced with strong conviction. "I feel like he is different from Mr. Foster. If not, Senior Sister would seem to be as happy as she looks right now. I an I have never seen her like this before, not even on her best days."

Gianna changed her position to look at Arwen from different angles before asking, "How is she looking different? She is looking as if I have left her, just her legs seem to have gotten better."

Though she said that, it was just to tease Arwen more. Otherwise, no on can see the changes in Arwen better than her. This side of Arwen wasn't new to her. But it was surely sothing that she thought Arwen lost back in ti. Seeing her back like she once was quite relieving.

And she would never fall back to give the credit to the person if it's truly him who brought this side back in Arwen.

"Of course, my legs have recovered better," Arwen said proudly. "He had taken care of it with several types of herbs and whatnot."

Gianna was about to speak when she heard Carl speak from behind, adding his part sa as Alia and Eira.

"No matter how he is, I just hope, he is better than Mr. Foster. He should be more caring and gentle towards Senior Sister. Not like Mr. Foster, who almost scared us all earlier. We almost thought he did sothing to hurt her."

Gianna paused at that. With a frown, she asked, "Wait, what? Ryan ca here?"
