17: Chapter 17: Crushing Battle 17: Chapter 17: Crushing Battle “So, if you don’t speak, it ans you agree?” there is impatience in Violet’s tone, in fact, she indeed feels this way, for now, she doesn’t want to see anyone standing in her way.

Their duty is to guard here, preventing anyone who might want to barge into Black Crow Castle from causing trouble.

There’s no reason for the captain of the guard squad to step aside for her.

This unavoidably leads to a conflict.

The rcenaries in heavy armor raise their shields, informing Violet by their actions that they’re prepared to deal with her.

Without bothering to utter another word, Violet skilfully snaps her fingers, and a black card materializes in front of her.

At the sight of the card, the rcenaries, who are seeing it for the first ti, feel a sense of curiosity, as they’ve never seen this way of casting magic before.

However, very soon, their curiosity turns into fear.

The card summoned by Violet is a low-level spell, rely a first-tier Frostbite Skill.

However, rather than directly inflicting damage on these sluggish pieces of tal, other ans are perhaps more effective.

The effect of the Frostbite Skill allows the caster to trap their desired enemies in blocks of ice within their ntal force field.

The ice spreads out from the ground, like a harsh northern wilderness, where any drop of water that falls outside is instantly turned into ice.

The ice encroaches on their feet, severely limiting their movent.

Breaking this ice is a formidable task for them, especially since the skeleton monster standing there is no fool.

Violet knows that these fellows wear heavy armor and move slowly, so she chose to cast this spell.

If they were smart enough, they might have had a chance to avoid the ice by running before it spread to their legs and completely froze them.

But who would’ve known that they would stand there dumbly and actually let the ice utterly restrict their ability to move.

Escaping at this point would be virtually impossible!

The skeleton monster will kill them, just like it would deal with wooden targets.

Their armor would prove useless under the Crimson Spear.

Screams arise one after another.

So try to raise their shields to block, but the Crimson Spear simply pierces through them, leaving behind dreadful holes.

Blood is left on the spear, but not a single drop lands on the ground, instead it’s actively absorbed by this weapon that has started to show early signs of sentience.

The crimson tallic shaft of the spear glimrs red, appearing almost alive as it churns in the viscous sea of blood.

If at this ti, Lin Xiaozheng were aware that the colour of this Crimson Spear was altered gradually by the lives it has taken, no one knows what his reaction would be.

All the resistance, in front of this artifact, was futile.

As the spear-tip of the skeleton monster touches the neck of the captain, who was the last rcenary standing, Violet stops the monster’s actions.

Under its intimidating posture, Violet walks forward and stands right in front of the man.

Their eyes et, and although he knows he’s not a match for this devilish woman, he nonetheless draws his sword.

And in the next split second, his heart was pierced.

His pupils contract suddenly, and eventually, he collapses to the ground, lifeless.

When the battle ends, the ice that had abruptly erged starts to rapidly lt due to the dissolution of the magical power.

The battlefield is left only with scattered corpses.

Violet frowns, sensing that sothing doesn’t feel quite right.

Clearly, under her instructions, so many humans were killed, they didn’t commit any mistakes, they were killed by her just for standing on the opposite side.

Although she doesn’t find this peculiar, as she believes this world is a survival of the fittest.

For so so-called greater good, it seems fair to sacrifice so people.

But what truly makes her feel uneasy and odd is that, after seeing all of this, her heart feels numb, completely emotionless.

In her mory, she has walked through nurous blood-soaked battlefields, with her stepping on corpses, and the air filled with the stench of rotting bodies.

Carrion crows fly in the sky with red light radiating from their eyes, pecking at the human corpses.

Broken weapons and burning banners are scattered all over the battlefield, blood flows freely and forms lakes.

After witnessing so many such battlefields, is she…

used to seeing people die before her?

Standing there in a stupor, Violet soon snaps back to reality despite the chill in her heart and the unusual look on Kars’ face.

But this is the battlefield, this is war!

If you want to end war, you must crush everything with absolute violence.

Before long, Violet casts the scene out of her mind and doesn’t even think about it.

After crossing this last line of defense, the winding path ahead is left unimpeded, leading straight to the castle.

The Bronze Shield received an unexpected bounty from their backers, so they chose not to enter through the main gate of the Black Crow Castle.

They simply used their brute force to blast a hole in the castle wall and rushed in from there.

This unconventional approach is truly characteristic of the leadership of a large rcenary group like the Bronze Shield.

It can be expected that if they had entered from the main gate of the castle, they would have encountered a lot of resistance, right?

Does this an that Black Crow Castle is not a truly abandoned castle after all?

Even though it looks dilapidated due to a lack of maintenance, it’s clear that the owner who built this castle had taken this into consideration.

All the castles on this continent could still stand tall without any maintenance for three hundred years due to the substantial amount of quickli mixture filled within the stone blocks of the walls.

They perfectly blend together with the giant stone blocks under the action of water, and if kept up properly, the castle could stand upright for a thousand years without any issues.

This ti, it’s again the Sixth Tier Skeleton Monster who leads the charge.

However, to prevent anyone from the guard post from sneaking in and informing others, Violet directly summons a pile of skeletons.

The skeletons then rush out from the bushes together, and by the ti the guards react, they have already been killed by the unexpected attack.

“Am I too strong?” At the end of the attack, this question crosses Violet’s mind as she erges from the bushes.

She certainly wouldn’t have guessed that in the future, when she, the Valkyrie, sits on the unprecedented throne after uniting the Seven Kingdoms, this question would be faithfully recorded by a historian.
