Chapter 185: Stabbing Alina

The next morning, Rhea slowly opened her eyes to the sound of the bird songs that flew in through the window. She had fallen asleep last night hoping that Draven would soon find her and that he would co along with so assistants to get her and Enzo out of Alina’s clutches, but it reached the point she could barely stay awake and ended up falling asleep.

She looked around and saw that Enzo was also just rising from the pile of hay he’d slept on last night. He stared at Alina who laid asleep beside him on the hay.

Enzo watched the woman responsibile for his family’s death. He recalled the vivid bitter mories of how Alina had heartlessly taken his newborn daughter away from his hands and killed his wife in front of him. At those unpleasant bitter mories, Enzo felt hate consu him. His hate was strong enough to block away all reason. He imdiately stood up from the hay.

Rhea blinked to clear her vision. She watched as Enzo stood up, she didn’t know what he was planning to do but she silently observed him search around the room for sothing. His eyes fell on a long rod resting against the far end of the room’s wall.

Rhea watched him approach the rod and picked it up before walking back to Alina.

If Rhea didn’t understand what he was aning to do at this point, then she must be foolish. And if Alina also didn’t wake up at this point where Enzo lood over her with a long rod raised above his head, then she must be an unguarded foolish deep-sleeper.

To Rhea’s disbelief, Alina’s eyes still remained closed. But then, Rhea caught her closed eyelid tremble slightly. She wasn’t actually sleeping, it seed she wanted to see if Enzo would really hurt her. She could probably see him clearly...

Enzo hardened his expression and swung the rod straight down Alina’s stomach. Imdiately, blood started to flow out, it dyed her dress into a deep red color.

Enzo looked montarily shocked that he’d stabbed her, but then his eyes brightened as if he had finally achieve his goals. He forced the rod deeper into her stomach with all his strength. This ti, Alina’s eyes snapped opened. Her dark eyes were bright with no signs of pain, but in the depths of them were an unforgettable sorrow as she glanced up at Enzo.

Enzo was shocked as he t her eyes. He couldn’t believe that his deep stab wasn’t enough to kill her. He quickly let go of the rod and stepped back.

Alina swiftly pulled out the rod and bitterly laughed, "You tried to kill

in my sleep, Nick."

Enzo turned on his heels and dashed towards Rhea, "Miss Rhea, let’s get out of here!" He knelt down and tried to figure out how to get rid of the magical chains.

Rhea didn’t even bother to move a limb, she just sat there and stared at Enzo trying to release her. She didn’t move because she knew it was useless, escaping Alina was impossible. In this world, only Enzo could so easily stab Alina and still be alive.

Alina stood up to her feet, "So you plan to kill

in my sleep so you can escape with her!" Alina could no longer endure the pain of his betrayal. The agony in her heart beca unbearable. Her voice, now sharp and tinged with tremors, she said, "Nick, you once held

in your arms and told

how much you love . You vowed to love

alone in every lifeti, you swore to cherish . What happened to those promises?" She demanded with a sorrowful voice.

However, Enzo didn’t reply he didn’t even have any reactions to her sorrow. But Rhea couldn’t hold back her tongue, she blurted out, "Your late husband uttered those words, Alina. He was blinded by love for such a heartless soul like you. I pity the man for adoring a maniac like you."

At this point, Alina was completely lost in her own bitter sorrows to heed to Rhea’s words. She walked towards Enzo and grabbed his shirt collar, "Have you forgotten all those beautiful mories we had together? You made

promise you that even if you died before , I will bring you back to life with everything in ! And now that I have made a lot of sacrifices and brought you back, you are denying ." She clutched tightly to his collar and mumbled sorrowfully,

"Nick, how did you beco like this? Why can’t you treat

like you used to do in the past?"

Enzo raised his hands and snapped her fingers away from his collar, "Because I am not your Nick, nor I am I the man you love and who loves you. I can never be your Nick, Alina!"

Rhea, enjoying Alina’s misery from the side, added, "Your Nick is dead and probably rotten under the soil, stop forcing him to be your Nick."

"You insolent fool!" Alina gritted through clenched teeth, lunging towards Rhea and delivering a hot resounding slap to her right cheek. The impact caused Rhea’s head to jerk to the side, leaving her temporarily deaf and with a ringing in her ears. Rhea dared not taunt Alina again.

However, Enzo heartlessly interjected, "Rhea is correct. The man you loved is dead and buried. I am not him, nor will I ever be."

Rhea’s face throbbed to the point she could taste blood in her mouth, but she composed herself and continued to observe Alina with a mocking smile.

Enzo persisted, "No matter what you do or say, I am Aurora’s husband. I will never be the man who kissed you under the oak tree, promising to hold only you in his heart. Nick may have loved you deeply, but I don’t. I will only love Aurora."

Upon hearing these words, Alina’s sorrowful expression transford into one of hope and delight, as though she had just received the most wonderful news. "You...you rember that mont we shared under the oak tree? Are your past mories resurfacing?"

Enzo was taken aback, but he muttered with a slightly bewildered look, "I don’t rember anything; I only saw you and Nick in my dreams."

Alina smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck, embracing him forcefully. "That wasn’t a dream; it was a mory. Although you may despise

now, once I bring you back to my mansion, there is soone there who has promised to restore your lost mories in exchange for sothing. Once you rember all our shared monts, you will love

once again."
