Arriving in Jiang City, everyone went their separate ways at the school gate.

Lu Jincheng put all the large and small parcels back in Jiangnan Garden and casually changed his clothes before looking at the WeChat interface on his phone for a while.

He picked out the gifts for Zhong Ruixi and put them in a bag before dialing her number.

"Hello?"

Zhong Ruixi’s voice ca through the receiver, sounding pouty.

"Just got back from Hang City, how about we have lunch together?"

Lu Jincheng asked with a smile.

"Oh, you’re such a busy person, and yet you have ti to have lunch with ?"

Zhong Ruixi said sarcastically.

He hadn’t managed to have a al with her before the business trip, and he hadn’t replied to her ssages much in the past few days. She also heard that he had taken a girl with him, and she was not pleased at all.

"Get on the car for dumplings, get off for noodles—I didn’t even get to eat the dumplings, are you coming or not?"

Lu Jincheng did not respond directly, instead subtly reminding her that there was a genuine reason.

"Hmm... okay then, where are you?"

As a fellow northerner, Zhong Ruixi had often heard this saying and naturally understood his implication.

She hesitantly stepped onto the breach Lu Jincheng had provided, her voice brimming with excitent.

"I’ll be downstairs in ten minutes."

"Really? You’re quick! Then I won’t keep you, I’m going to get ready!"

...

"Here, this is the specialty product from Hang City that I brought for you."

Nanhu University, outside the won’s dormitory of the Managent College.

A tall boy leaned on a black electric scooter, his smile bright.

"At least you have so conscience."

Zhong Ruixi chuckled as she took the bag, boldly wrapping her arms around Lu Jincheng’s waist and perching herself on the back seat of the scooter.

"Let’s go, ti for noodles."

Minutes later, they sat facing each other in a small noodle shop near the school, each holding a porcelain bowl, slurping up soup as they ate.

Worried that a bowl of noodles wouldn’t suffice, they also bought so oden from the convenience store next door.

Zhong Ruixi wore a solid-colored long-sleeve T-shirt with straight-leg jeans, the high waist accentuating her lean, straight legs beautifully.

Ten minutes is hardly enough ti for most girls to dress up.

But Zhong Ruixi didn’t care; she casually applied foundation to her flawless cheeks, lightly dabbed on so rose lipstick, slipped into a pair of sneakers, and headed out.

Looking around, she still stood out the most strikingly.

She twirled a skewer of steaming fish balls to her mouth, the pettiness from the phone call earlier largely dissipated.

"Who did you go on the business trip with?"

Zhong Ruixi asked casually, again probing indirectly.

"It was mainly with Senior He Ying, but it wasn’t convenient with just the two of us, so we also brought Luo Lang from the company."

Lu Jincheng shrugged his shoulders, his reply watertight.

"Chairman He?"

Zhong Ruixi paused for a mont, blinking. She hadn’t expected He Ying to be on the business trip with him.

The girl suddenly felt as if a barrel of vinegar had spilled into the air.

"So it wasn’t Mou Keyan after all..."

"Since you’re planning to open a store, why didn’t you take the top host with you?"

Although Zhong Ruixi had previously said she would try not to get jealous and doubt or suspect unnecessarily, saying it and experiencing it were two different things.

Facing the reality of Lu Jincheng going on a business trip with another woman, it was impossible for her not to feel uneasy.

But she didn’t make snide, probing remarks out of pettiness; she suppressed her doubts and strived to show her trust in him.

"You think it’s a child’s ga of playing house?"

Lu Jincheng shook his head, tapping her sweaty nose with a smile.

"She’s not in charge of opening the stores and doesn’t understand the intricacies either. If I take her along, would I be going on a vacation or talking business?"

"Since it’s a vacation, why wouldn’t I go with you?"

Zhong Ruixi pursed her lips and lifted her head, giving him a slight reproachful glance, "Who knows why you didn’t take ..."

"The counselor wouldn’t approve your leave."

Lu Jincheng shook his head, his tone serious.

"Hmph, how would you know whether they’d allow leave or not?"

Zhong Ruixi pouted, noncommittal.

After having their fill, it was already evening, and they strolled along the small paths near the school towards the parked electric scooter.

"What are we going to do next?"

Zhong Ruixi, arm in arm with him and high-spirited, asked.

"What do you think?"

Lu Jincheng countered.

"Everyone says a date is the sa old three things: eat, watch a movie, then go shopping!"

Zhong Ruixi turned towards him, tiptoed, and planted a kiss on his cheek, her eyes full of expectation.

"Shall we go watch a movie too?"

As she spoke, she swung her leg over and was the first to sit on the back seat of the electric bike.

"Sure."

Lu Jincheng watched her with a delighted grin, feeling a flutter in his heart.

"Have you noticed anything different about today?"

"Um... new lipstick?"

"I did change my lipstick, but that’s not it, guess again."

Zhong Ruixi smiled and shook her head.

"Did you get eyelash extensions?"

Lu Jincheng leaned in a bit closer.

"Annoying! My eyelashes are naturally this long!"

The girl hit him lightly and pouted.

"You hid it really deep, huh!"

Lu Jincheng scratched his head and looked her up and down, making Zhong Ruixi’s cheeks flush red.

"Alright, I’ll reveal the answer now!"

Zhong Ruixi straightened one leg and reached down, pulling her straight jeans up to her ankles, revealing her little secret for the day.

"Wow..."

Lu Jincheng couldn’t help but widen his eyes.

She was wearing a pair of extrely thin calf socks!

Just as the man was about to touch them and experience the material, Zhong Ruixi dodged to the side.

However, that style and the transparency looked quite familiar.

"Where did you buy them?"

Lu Jincheng asked, his mouth feeling dry.

"Night study room, there’s a link in the live broadcast room."

"You actually bought these..."

"Why can’t I? All the girls in our dorm bought them; everyone said they looked good."

Zhong Ruixi laughed, her voice crisp and clear.

"I heard from my roommate that the store sold out completely; you guys are really impressive!"

"Not really~"

Under the setting sun, Zhong Ruixi’s long hair fluttered as she tightly hugged his waist from behind. The small electric bike slowly drove towards the cinema, their laughter mingling with the wind, indistinguishable from the sweetest imagined university romance.

Popcorn, movie tickets, nightti show.

For his cherished Bai Yueguang, Mr. Lu certainly didn’t consider switching to a private cinema.

A tender date, just like any normal young couple would do.

The two sat in the back row, the big screen had just started playing the movie; Zhong Ruixi was engrossed and happily, her fingertips lightly hooked around his hand.

This year’s National Day slot was dominated by the dark horse cody "Breakup Buddies."

This movie gathered the hottest stars of the mont.

Not only did it feature the "Iron Triangle" of cody—Ning Hao, Xu Zheng, and Huang Bo—but also the distinguished Yuan Quan, the pure and lovely Zhou Dongyu, and the sexy and charming Ma Su, all making up a cast that brought varied styles and content to the film.

The storyline of this movie was quite clear, and it was Zhong Ruixi’s first ti watching it. Plus, with soone feeding her snacks beside her, she enjoyed it a lot.

It was basically about a wife running off with soone else, a buddy hitting the road to hook up, continuous cheap shots at girls, Avatar-styled freaks and street thugs taking turns on the screen, and just when the audience eagerly anticipated Huang Bo and Yuan Quan getting together, there ca a ti displacent, making the story jump right off the page.

Thus, all emotions accumulated to a mont that needed to explode.

Everything was so fitting, forming a perfect love story. Even an orange was divided such that I ate the peel and you ate the segnts, and finally, Huang Bo’s release and explosion in the bar were fully loaded with tension, without a single dull mont.

For Mr. Lu, this was actually a predictable film; from the beginning, he knew the ending, understood every plot, knew every character.

Yet, he was moved once again.

Life is probably like that, isn’t it? Only when you let go of everything and take a leap of faith do the shadows and demons grow into a blossoming road.

Just like a little pepper spray; always rember to face it head-on.

In the ti that followed, Lu Jincheng devoted himself to her, asuring every corner of the mall with his steps until night completely fell.

After the usual routine, the electric bike headed towards the university. The man subtly probed, trying to get Zhong Ruixi to return a bit later.

Zhong Ruixi saw through his intention, but she did not agree.

She got off the bike at the dormitory entrance, waved, and said goodbye.

Lu Jincheng respected her wishes and pace, showing no dissatisfaction and still warmly embraced her for a goodbye.

"Later, later, okay? Try not to rush too much?"

Zhong Ruixi pulled him close in the night breeze, whispering in his ear.

"It’s okay, I’m not in a rush at all."

"Every step we take towards each other is so interesting."

Lu Jincheng, with his cheek against the girl’s, said with a smile.

This mont of stepping back to advance dissolved her underlying insecurities into fondness.

Zhong Ruixi took a deep breath, her heart seemingly thumping fiercely, even felt through her clothes.

She stood upright, her hands clutching the cloth of the man’s chest, and tugged fiercely twice, her eyes sparkling.

"Lu Jincheng, I really like you!"

"Mm, too."
