After leaving Grandmaster Elion’s study, Lira walked back through the academy courtyard, the white towers gleaming in the afternoon sun. Students practiced spells on the training grounds, so laughing as their attempts fizzled, others concentrating in quiet ditation. The hum of mana filled the air, a comforting rhythm that reminded her of the grove.
Near one of the shaded benches, she spotted Maelin and Patricia, sitting side by side with scrolls and a few glowing herbs scattered on the ground. Their heads lifted at her approach, eyes lighting up with recognition.
"Lira!" Maelin exclaid, bouncing to her feet. Her energy radiated warmth and excitent as she rushed over to hug her old friend.
Patricia smiled more quietly, stepping forward to wrap a gentle arm around Lira’s shoulder.
"It’s so good to see you," she said softly. "You’ve... changed. Grown."
Lira returned their embraces, feeling the familiar comfort of friendship. Fluffy padded around them, tail flicking curiously at the movent.
"I’ve... been busy," Lira said, smiling. "With the grove, the Moonvine, tending plants, and now... teaching."
Maelin’s eyes widened.
"Teaching? You’re... a teacher now?" she asked, a mixture of admiration and disbelief in her voice.
Patricia nodded in agreent.
"While we’re still learning... you’re guiding others?"
Lira shrugged modestly.
"I suppose. The Grandmaster asked to help the new multielent users. My mornings are spent teaching, and the afternoons in the grove tending plants. It’s... different, but I like it."
Maelin’s grin returned, her energy infectious.
"Well, I’m glad it’s you guiding them. Even we could use so direction right now. Sotis I feel overwheld with my own abilities, and I know you’ve been through more than anyone here."
Patricia added thoughtfully, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
"Yes... your growth is inspiring. We may still be students, but seeing you step into this role... it gives confidence. If you can manage the grove, the Moonvine, and teach others... maybe we can handle our own challenges too."
Lira’s chest ward at their words.
"I’m still learning," she said softly. "Every day, I learn sothing new. But... I hope I can help you as much as you’ve helped ."
Maelin nodded enthusiastically.
"You already do! Just by being here, by sharing what you’ve discovered. And seeing you back safe from your... journey... it makes feel braver."
Patricia smiled, her gaze steady.
"We’ve seen you grow, Lira. And now... you’re guiding others. That’s sothing to be proud of. Even we need guidance sotis, and it’s good to have soone experienced to look up to."
Lira glanced down at Fluffy, who purred, brushing against her legs, then back at her friends.
"Thank you," she said quietly. "It feels... right, to be able to help. To guide. And I’m glad to know I can still be one of you — friends, students, companions — even while stepping into this role."
The three of them sat for a while under the warm afternoon light, talking about the academy, their studies, and Lira’s experiences in the grove. Fluffy rolled lazily in the grass, and for a mont, the weight of responsibility felt lighter, carried on the strength of friendship and shared trust.
"You really have changed," Maelin said finally, nudging Lira playfully.
"Yes," Patricia agreed. "And for the better. We’re lucky to have you teaching us now... even if it makes us feel a little behind."
Lira laughed softly, warmth filling her chest.
"Then we’ll all keep learning together. You, ... everyone."
The breeze stirred the leaves overhead, and the sun painted dappled patterns across the courtyard, echoing the quiet pulse of life that ran from the academy towers to the grove, where the Moonvine and her other plants awaited, ready to grow under her care.
The next morning, the academy training grounds were alive with energy. Multielent students were scattered across the open courtyard, each practicing their abilities under the watchful eyes of instructors. So struggled to control their surging powers — flas flickering wildly, water currents splashing uncontrollably, air gusts scattering loose scrolls, and earth trembling under unstable movents.
Lira arrived carrying her space bag, now heavier with both the Moonvine apples and freshly brewed potions. She paused at the edge of the courtyard, taking in the scene. Fluffy padded alongside her, weaving between the students’ legs with quiet curiosity.
"Alright," Lira called, her voice carrying easily over the hum of magic. "We’ll start with a demonstration."
The students turned, so curious, others cautious. A few whispered among themselves, noting the calm, confident presence of their new instructor.
Lira began by handing out the first few Moonvine apples, carefully offering them to students whose elents were most unstable. She explained softly as she did:
"These apples are from a special plant that grows near a giant tree. They help ground your elents — not to weaken you, but to help you control the flow of energy within you. Take a bite, focus, and let the plant’s harmony align with your own."
One by one, the students accepted the apples, eyes wide with curiosity. As they chewed, their previously wild abilities began to settle into rhythm. Flas flickered into steady orbs, water flowed in gentle streams, air swirled in controlled currents, and earth beca firm and steady under their feet.
"Feel it?" Lira asked, smiling. "Your energy... it’s aligning with the world around you. Use it to guide your abilities, not to fight them."
She moved among them, offering guidance and encouragent. A few students hesitated, unsure if they could truly control their powers. Lira knelt beside them, handing a vial of Potion of Elental Calm.
"Sip this slowly," she instructed. "It will help steady your energy while you focus on control. Your elent is part of you, not sothing to fear."
As the students drank, their aura shimred softly, pulsing in sync with the gentle hum of the Moonvine apples. Slowly but surely, each one began to perform controlled movents, combining multiple elents in harmony — water shaping into fla-resistant steam, air carrying embers safely, earth forming steady platforms.
Maelin and Patricia watched from the edge of the courtyard, impressed.
"She’s... amazing," Maelin whispered, eyes wide. "She’s not just guiding them — she’s helping them feel their magic."
Patricia nodded.
"And patient. Even with the unstable ones. I think... I think we’ll all learn a lot from her."
Lira continued, moving back and forth, correcting stances, adjusting gestures, and offering quiet encouragent. The Moonvine apples and potions worked in tandem, giving students a tangible sense of grounding while she reinforced the principles of control and harmony.
By the ti the sun reached its peak, the courtyard had transford. Students who had struggled to contain their powers now moved with confidence, their multielent abilities flowing smoothly.
Lira stepped back, watching their progress with satisfaction. Fluffy purred at her feet, brushing against her legs.
"Good work, everyone," she said softly. "Rember, control cos from within, and harmony cos from respect — for your elent, for yourself, and for those around you. Keep practicing, and you will grow stronger every day."
A quiet murmur of gratitude spread through the group, so students bowing their heads, others smiling brightly. Lira felt a warm glow in her chest. The Moonvine apples and potions had done more than stabilize energy — they had instilled confidence.
"This is just the beginning," she whispered to herself, looking toward the grove in the distance. "There’s so much more to learn... and so much more to teach."
The afternoon sun bathed the courtyard in golden light, echoing the pulse of life in Lira’s grove, in the Moonvine, and in the hearts of her students — a quiet harmony that promised growth, balance, and the promise of greater challenges yet to co.
...
The air in the grove shimred faintly that afternoon, the scent of dew and blooming vines wrapping softly around Lira as she knelt beside a patch of young herbs. The Moonvine’s silver leaves rustled in a gentle rhythm, and Fluffy rolled lazily in the grass while Renkai and Thalanir worked nearby, moving soil and trimming unruly stalks. Serelyth rested in her humanoid form high among the branches, humming quietly.
Everything was calm—until the ground beneath them pulsed, sending a deep vibration through the roots of the great tree.
A low, resonant voice filled the grove, echoing in every leaf and stone.
"Lira..."
All movent stopped. Renkai straightened, Thalanir froze mid-step, and even Fluffy’s tail twitched, ears flicking toward the sound.
The voice deepened, carrying the weight of ages.
"Lira, I need you to finish another mission."
The branches of the giant tree spirit swayed, scattering golden light across the grove. Its tone was calm, yet commanding, vibrating through their chests.
"You must journey into the Realm of Gnos. There, hidden beneath the roots of their villages, grow the Mushrooms of Wisdom. You must find them and bring them back here so that we may begin cultivation."
Renkai blinked, exchanging a glance with Thalanir.
"Another mission?" he muttered softly.
Lira stood slowly, brushing the soil from her hands.
"Mushrooms of Wisdom?" she asked, curiosity and caution mingling in her voice. "I’ve never even heard of them. Where would I even find gnos?"
