Reverse engineering my gun and shields pairing tech was not going to be an easy task however as even though I have taken both apart to upgrade them I only had a small idea of what exactly was the source of this feature. For the shield it was an unusual design in the energy projectors and sensors. For the gun there was a bit in the hamr of the gun that sohow transferred the elental effect of the shield into the bullets at the mont of firing. The science of exactly how this worked though was not sothing I could grasp so simply.-
What I did know however was that it wasn't Eridian in nature as none of the knowledge I had on the races engineering had sothing like that in a one to one for comparison. There was certainly similar things there for to take inspiration from but nothing so hyper specific as the pairing tech for gun and shield. Deciding to set this idea to the side I turned my attention to the armors that I wanted to upgrade. Taking one of the suits to my workbench I began to carefully disassemble it until it looked like a really complex fucking puzzle.-
From there I fed the armor piece by piece to my maker machine after sketching them down for redesign. For the chest I slid it down a bit and made it sleeker with more features such as heat sinks and miniature air tanks on the back. For the arms I took a page from the Eridians and extended the plates to cover the entire arms other than the arm pits and elbows. I also added a tactical energy knife to the back of the left arm and ultra thin but hyper durable thread rope to the right arm.-
For the waist I added a utility belt and extra space for any idea I could co up with later. The legs were where I got the biggest changes done however as I fully changed the designs of the armor plates into a sleeker more fully covered one while adding so nice features. The thighs had various pockets added and a stand leg built into the back so the wearer could sit without a chair comfortably enough. The lower legs were where things got spicy however as I added hydraulic shocks to the heels of the boots that made it so each step was nearly effortless AND covered more distance.-
I also added a small rocket at the sides of the shin guards that would accelerate any kick made by the wearer by a vast margin all without harming them. There was also a hidden blade in the toe of the boots for cutting ropes if the wearer was captured. For the helt I made the shape more rounded and skull-like while adding air filters and a connection to the air tanks on the back of the armor. The eye glass was replaced with a bullet resistant version and lined with a top tier Eridian HUD display that showed not only ones echo status but also the suits integrity and even the vitals of the wearer.-
The helt was also equipped with energy sensors and even thermal sensors to counter stealth tech. With all these changes made to the designs I had my machine spit out a whole new set of armor using high grade materials. Looking over the whole set i nodded with a proud grin at it before leaving the room to go get Roland. He was polishing his rifle when I walked into the room and looked up at my approach. -
"I've redesigned that Atlas armor from earlier and need soone to test it out, you ga?" I asked with a grin.
"Yeah, give a mont to finish up here." he said with a nod.
The others were also curious about this new armor of mine as I had this habit of making hardcore aweso shit and they expected this to be no different. They weren't wrong. Once Roland finished polishing his rifle we went to my workshop and he started taking off his clothes so we gave him so privacy to change.-
When he walked out of my workshop about fifteen minutes later I had to admit that I fucking nailed it. The armor pieces curved over his body perfectly as they shined in a silver hue since I hadn't painted over the tal yet. The helts silver color and skull-like shape with glowing red glass eyes had an intimidation factor I hadn't expected but was quite happy with. All in all Roland looked like he was in the business of fucking shit up and business was good.-
"That is AWESO! I want one!" Brick said with an eager look and wide grin.
"I like the look but I prefer seeing his face." Lil said honestly.
"It IS a nice face to look at." I agreed.
Everyone paused a beat to stare at in surprise.
"What? I don't swing that way but that doesn't an I can't appreciate when another man looks good." I said with a chuckle.
It took them a mont to process what I said before they all collectively nodded in agreent. It really wasn't that strange when you thought about it like that after all.
"It's a bit tight in the shoulders and hips but it feels good otherwise. I do like how the plates cover more of the body than the original armor. It doesn't work well with casual clothes but I assu you have sothing in mind on that front." Roland said with his voice coming through slightly deeper from the muffling of the helt.
"I was going to have a standard issue full armored nanoweave carbon body suit made for the armor later. As for the shoulders and hips hit the button at the inner thigh and top of the shoulder to let the armor auto adjust to your body better. I took the differing body sizes and shapes in mind when designing the armor after all." I said with a grin.
Roland took a mont to find the buttons I was talking about but once he pressed them the armor shifted ever so slightly and he moved around a bit and even took a stance while throwing out a punch and a kick. The rockets in the shin activated at the later of those surprising Roland and the others when it did.-
"Did you seriously add rockets to the legs!?" Mordy asked incredulously.
"Fuck yeah I did! Rocket kicks for the win! There SO much more too! Click your toes together and flex your left hand while twisting your wrist!" I said with a eager smirk.
Roland did as I said and the blades in the boots popped out while the energy blade in his left arm shot out in all it's glowing blue glory.
"I think I'm with Brick on this one, that's pretty aweso." Lil said with an impressed look.
"This can't be cheap though." Roland said with a concerned tone.
"Nope! Easily five tis the price tag as the standard Atlas armor to make but it's like twenty tis better so really it's not like I'm making a loss here." I said with a shrug.
"Maybe not individually but to outfit a whole army? That'll add up quick." Mordy said seriously.
"Ah! But that's where you are wrong. See if I use the materials I get from recycling all that trash outside it's actually almost totally free to make one of these suits of armor. After that though yeah it'll be kinda pricey." I said with a helpless shrug.
After that we headed to the sim room and had Roland give it the old college try at beating his high score. The armor showed it's value as it kept him "alive" MUCH longer than normal as many of the "injuries" that would have dragged down his score or outright "killed" him were minimized or outright negated.
