"A hundred Shield Crystal Diamonds, plus the original one hundred and fifty pieces acquired from Jia Bao, and the seven we bought—our Magic Protectors won’t even need to store Magic Shields in Magic Crystals anymore!" Elise patted Old Liu’s shoulder with an air of smug authority. "Young man, you’ve done well!"
"Big Brother Richard, can you give a few Osteo pieces for self-defense..." Kaka shalessly leaned in, just about to reach out to grab a couple for himself, but Elise’s glare made him awkwardly retract his hand.
When Liu shocked everyone by explaining the origins of "Nau Platinum," even breathing beca difficult for Avril, who leaned soft and weak against Old Liu’s chest in near blissful fainting.
"Phantom Beasts undergoing mutation—powerful! Absolutely powerful!" Kaka exclaid enthusiastically, seemingly having so inside information about Erald’s assets.
"Mutation fundantally violates the laws of elents." Elise furrowed her brows and rcilessly deflated everyone’s bubbling excitent. "I’m not joking! Elental abilities, except through certain rare inheritances and strict conditions that allow a breakthrough to a higher tier, cannot be simply and mass-produced like advancing through dicines!"
"But the Demon World has indeed achieved it." Liu, having never underestimated Elise’s Five-Petal Summit-level expertise, acknowledged her sharp insight, knowing his own knowledge of elental chanics might not even amount to one percent of hers.
"According to you, Magical Beasts consuming ’Nau Platinum’ might, at worst, gain a one-tier enhancent. If they’re lucky, they could leap several tiers just like riding a Zeppelin Aircraft! Does this adhere to the laws of nature? Moreover, ’Nau Platinum’ can allow wild beasts to gain magic abilities and transform into Magical Beasts—that’s absurdly sinister!" Elise shook her head vigorously.
"Exactly." A sweet and tender voice echoed in agreent with Elise’s judgnt. "Mutation indeed defies natural principles, and great power always cos at a trendous cost."
Everyone turned their eyes toward Wei Zhi, the rmaid.
Out of everyone, Liu was especially surprised. Although the Aegean common language was widely used, this was the Demon World—we’re talking about a place where Goblin traders wouldn’t even dream of venturing, especially into the Sea of Mist for business.
Yet, this rmaid chick spoke fluent Aegean Continent common language.
"Arcane Beast mutations occur via the opening of skin pores, absorbing massive amounts of elental power in the air to nourish themselves!" Wei Zhi explained, her further statents spotlighting an intriguing phenonon—as she spoke, the Parrot Copycat Conch tied to her waist with a black silk thread emanated a shimring black-and-red radiance with every word.
"Please continue," Elise prompted, noticing that the rmaid seed a bit shy under so many pairs of eyes, encouraging her gently.
"The item at her waist is called the ’Parrot Copycat Conch,’ an ancient relic species. Its functionality closely resembles ntal communication—it uses voice vibrations and emitted ntal pulses to automatically mimic and translate the language of a subject! That ans, before this little lady, there would be no language she couldn’t decipher." Avril whispered cryptically into Liu’s ear. "This wondrous conch species was born the sa day as Aegean’s tectonic formation. As far as I know, apart from the one in Ares’ Palace, I’ve never heard of a second specin."
"Bullseye!" Liu comnted.
"Ocean-based Arcane Beasts cannot mutate because the toxic mist in the Sea of Mist is lethally poisonous; once pores open, excessive absorption leads to death! Land-based Arcane Beasts successfully mutate because the land’s air is free from toxins. However, this latter theory isn’t entirely ’accurate!’" Wei Zhi shyly nodded politely toward Elise.
"Got it!" The Aegean Flower quickly grasped the point. "You’re implying that even terrestrial air contains trace toxins, aren’t you?"
"What? What does that even an?" Avril asked, completely bewildered.
"How is that possible? How could air contain toxins?" Being a child of nature, Kaka had to stand up to defend the sanctity of nature. However, before he could argue further, Elise had already pulled out her ’Fury of the Sky’ magic bow, and the little rascal promptly silenced himself obediently.
"Elise is absolutely correct. Humans live through cycles of birth, aging, sickness, and death because the food we eat and the air we breathe provide us life energy while simultaneously depleting our health. The notion that air contains trace toxins is entirely valid." Liu agreed. "This isn’t so groundbreaking theory—it’s long recorded in dical literature! My Turtle Absorption Field barrier is also connected to this concept."
"Why does every land-based Arcane Beast swell up hideously and deform after mutation? It’s because during mutation, Arcane Beasts absorb massive amounts of elental force from the air, and in doing so, they also intake trace toxins present in terrestrial air. Once accumulated, these trace toxins aren’t fatal, but they are sufficient to cause disfigurent and reduce the Arcane Beast’s lifespan. The larger the leap in ability, the greater the loss in longevity!" Wei Zhi pointed to the Harmonious Pearl worn delicately near her forehead. "Even with the Pearl facilitating an environntal barrier, toxin accumulation can only be minimized at best! Additionally, with the Pearl’s assistance, ability growth during mutation is strictly limited to the lowest threshold!"
