Chapter 88: Chapter 69: ntor, Hitting a Wall_2 Chapter 88: Chapter 69: ntor, Hitting a Wall_2 “Choosing a ntor is actually about letting ntors choose you…

Besides the basic strength and qualification, appearance, personality, and temperant may also beco important factors for being chosen by a ntor…

All you need to do is to show your best in front of the ntors!”

These were the exact words Doby told him before he left, and Ronan interpreted it as—basically, it’s like “matchmaking!”

Just make an effort to appear likable to the other party.

In fact, Ronan was quite confident because he was incredibly handso due to his persistent body forging, a rare beauty among the wizards.

“Just don’t be unlucky like Linus, running into a Nantong Wizard would be just fine.”

Ronan thought to himself, and then, at the garden courtyard, slowly released his Qi Transformation Level spiritual power, like a peacock spreading its feathers seeking a mate.

A response ca quickly.

A trendous spiritual power suddenly burst out from the small house, quickly landing on Ronan…

Ronan felt montarily “honored”, his spirit lifted.

But before he could react further, that spiritual power swiftly withdrew with even greater speed.

“What kind of useless, poorly-shaped waste dares to display in front of …

Get lost!

Don’t block the sunlight!”

An impatient and old voice ca from the house.

Ronan’s confident expression froze on his face, montarily feeling as if he were holding a large bouquet of flowers under the girls’ dormitory, only to be harshly doused with a bucket of cold water.

“Poorly-shaped…?”

“Waste?…”

Ronan opened his mouth but couldn’t speak a word.

Finally, he bowed slightly to the doorway of the house, left a “Sorry for the disturbance,” and turned to leave.

Walking away, he seed still to hear a disdainful sneer behind him.

A discouraging start.

Ronan was deeply affected.

But seeing the little houses in the ntor area, he gathered his spirits again.

“My talent might be lacking, and so wizards with high standards might look down on …

Trying a few more could work; there should be less picky ones among so many ntors…”

Ronan thought, and continued to the next house.

Monts later, Ronan left the second house’s doorway.

Then the third…

The fourth…

The fifth…

Ronan kept stopping in front of each little house, only to continuously move on.

His mindset shifted from initially—With my youthful genius and striking appearance, I must choose the best ntor.

To—Okay, I admit my talent might be slightly lacking, any average ntor could be alright too; as the saying goes, the master leads you to the door, it’s up to you to master the craft, it still depends on myself!

And at last—Is there anyone?!

Anyone will do!

As long as it’s an Official Wizard willing to accept , I just want so basic inheritance ah!

“Is it really…

this outrageous?”

Ronan left from who knows which numbered house, his facial expression already stiff and numb, a far cry from his initially spirited appearance.

Walking through these nurous houses, Ronan found that almost everyone retracted their probe spiritual power the mont they touched him, then without exception, all refused.

So even expelled him with a coldness before he got close.

Ronan couldn’t understand.

Why?

Even if his talent was a bit lacking, he was still a top-level apprentice that had genuinely achieved the Qi Transformation level, why was he so unwelcod?!

Ronan wandered with a heavy face around the ntor area, realizing there were only a few remaining houses he hadn’t tried.

Suddenly, Ronan’s eyes caught a place cloaked in dense fog.

It was an old Academic Palace, akin to a palace, its columns and outer walls were densely covered with ivy.

“Headmaster’s residence…”

Unwittingly, Ronan had arrived here.

His eyes flickered briefly, hesitated, and then quickly approached.

The ordinary Academic Wizards didn’t value him, but perhaps the most powerful school headmaster might view him differently?

Ronan decided to try his luck; there was no rule that ntors couldn’t choose the headmaster.

But before Ronan even got close to the palace, countless ivies outside the palace suddenly moved like snakes, rapidly clustering and forming a gigantic woman’s face which ferociously howled at Ronan: “Insect!

A deceitful, shaless, and vile insect!

I will eventually kill you!…”

Ronan’s face turned pale as he stepped back.

Lola!

It was Lola!

He had foolishly hoped to be ntored by the dean, almost forgetting the existence of this woman, Lola.

“I understand now…”

Ronan looked back at the ntor’s area, the reason for all the cold treatnt he had received up until now suddenly beca clear.

It was still Lola.

Fa Ao’s death had caused a huge stir in the academy, and being targeted by Lola, this matter was probably known by everyone in the circle of Official Wizards.

No one would want to get involved with the big trouble that is Lola, especially given that his own Talent wasn’t considered outstanding.

Perhaps, in their eyes…

he might have already been marked for death.

“If that’s the case, there’s no point in continuing with this so-called ntor selection…”

Ronan cleared his head, his face expressionless, his fists slowly clenching under his Magic Robe.

It was just the lack of a ntor, this wasn’t enough to stop him from becoming an Official Wizard.

He had only joined the academy a few months ago and had co this far on his own; when had he ever needed the support and guidance of others?

“Let’s try going to Jero one last ti; he had the courage to confront Lola head-on, he might be willing to lend a helping hand now…”

Jero had given Ronan a fairly positive impression, though he still had the aloofness of an Official Wizard deep down.

Determined, Ronan prepared to leave.

However, just at that mont, a voice suddenly rang out beside his ear.

“Aren’t you going to try coming to ?”

“Who’s speaking?!”

Ronan abruptly turned his head, looking around in surprise.

The voice that suddenly appeared was crisp and bright, like a singing nightingale, belonging to a very young girl.

“Look this way, over here.”

The voice called out to Ronan, and following the sound, he saw a small house on the edge of the ntor’s area, surrounded by irises and topped with a beautiful blue spire.

Ronan’s eyes flickered slightly, hesitating before walking towards the house.

“Amara Blackthorn…”

Ronan murmured the na on the owner’s wooden plaque at the entrance.

Looking up at the house, the bright voice rang out again.

“Do you want to choose an Official Wizard as your ntor?”

“Yes.”

Ronan continued talking to the voice, “My spiritual power has undergone Qi Hua, and I am about to challenge for Official Wizard status, but there are still many things I don’t understand, so I want the guidance of a ntor.”

“Step closer then.”

The voice said.

Ronan took a couple of steps forward.

“Even closer…”

Ronan continued, and just as he was about to step into the garden lawn, the voice stopped him.

“That’s fine, just stand there!

Don’t co any closer!”

Ronan halted his steps, imdiately following a probing ntal power emitted from inside the house and landed on him.

‘So weak…’

Ronan sensed the gap between this ntal power and that of the other house owners, silently scoffing to himself.

But he quickly could not help but ridicule himself; nobody wanted him, yet he was the one finding fault with others first.

The spiritual power of the blue-roofed small house owner felt the weakest he had encountered so far, but it lingered on him the longest and probed the most thoroughly.

Finally, the ntal power was withdrawn.

The crisp voice rang out again, but the brightness in the words was much diminished now.

Ronan heard the girl sigh.

“I finally understand why nobody wants you…”

“Or maybe…”

The voice paused, carrying a hint of comfort and tentativeness, whispering, “Why don’t you just give up?

Actually, I think being a Level 9 Apprentice is quite good, at least…

you’d live much longer.”

Ronan: “???”
