Chapter 67: Chapter 62: Farewell to Linus, Corpse Garden Chapter 67: Chapter 62: Farewell to Linus, Corpse Garden “I’m here for the task selection.”
Ronan approached several Academic Wizards and presented the copper token he had received from registration.
The other party gave it a brief glance and probed Ronan’s spiritual cultivation before nodding and saying, “Very well, Level 7 Apprentice.
Go wait over there…”
Ronan humd in acknowledgnt and quietly moved to the side.
Beneath the Magic Robe, his slender fingers casually fiddled with a broken Mirror Artifact Fragnt; his current mood was sowhat peculiar.
This was Ronan’s first use of the effect of the Mirror Magic Tool Fragnt.
Unlike those two who had pretended to be Advanced Apprentice Wizards under the guise of “Francois,” he had instead replicated the aura of an ordinary Level 7 Apprentice Wizard, hiding the fluctuations of his Level 9 Apprentice spiritual power.
Ronan didn’t know if this trick would be useful, but it was always right to keep a low profile while away from ho.
Just like on the day when the town plunged into chaos, he was targeted by two Black Robes precisely because, among the lower-class Grey Robes on Water Drop Street, his Advanced Apprentice strength stood out like a light bulb in the dark night.
After waiting for a while, the distant sound of voices ca from the direction of the Academy.
“They’re here.”
The Academic Wizards on-site alerted everyone, and those who ca to see them off promptly stepped aside.
Before long, a group erged before the crowd.
All clad in Academic Wizard attire, the leading figure wore a silk Magic Robe with the Hoddam green vine emblem, his skin fair, his features handso, his hair ticulously combed to the back, and on his forehead, he wore an exquisite silver ornant.
In Ronan’s eyes, this handso middle-aged wizard shone brightly like the Sun, his “dazzling” aura apparent at all tis.
Compared to his presence, everyone else seed to “fade into insignificance.”
“An Official Wizard Level expert!”
Although Ronan was ntally prepared for the difficulty of the task, seeing an Official Wizard Level expert leading the team from the Academy, his face inevitably showed a touch of seriousness.
“Master Fa Ao!”
As the handso middle-aged wizard appeared, the Grey Robe Academic Wizards imdiately stepped forward to greet him with respect.
Ronan seized the opportunity to look past the Official Wizard nad Fa Ao; there were five Academic Wizards, all of Advanced Apprentice strength, exuding a temperant distinctly different from that of Wandering Wizards, one that of the “Heaven’s Chosen Son”.
Suddenly, Ronan’s gaze froze, resting on one of the Academic Wizards.
It was a young man with an indifferent expression, fairly handso, but with an arrogance that occasionally appeared between his brows, giving off an unfriendly vibe.
“Linus…”
Ronan was taken aback, surprised.
This person turned out to be Linus, the Young Wizard who had left on his own after erging from the forest back then.
After such a long absence, Linus had actually joined Hoddam Academy, not only leaping from Apprentice Level 5 to Level 9, but his severed arm had been reattached as well.
When Ronan recognized Linus, the latter evidently recognized him too.
His face showed a ripple of emotions, but he quickly returned to an expression of indifference, turning his face away.
Ronan naturally had no intention of catching up with him either, as there was not much between them to reminisce about.
After all, Linus’s departure back then was not exactly honorable.
Ronan lowered his head and silently pondered for a while, then suddenly felt a probing gaze fall upon him.
He looked up sharply and t a pair of dazzling, jewel-like eyes, so intense that Ronan almost teared up.
When that “radiance” dissipated, Ronan saw Linus looking at him indifferently, whispering sothing into the ear of Official Wizard Fa Ao; Fa Ao showed an ambiguous smile towards Ronan before slowly moving his gaze away.
At that mont, Ronan felt as though he was being targeted by sothing, and for an instant, he even had the urge to withdraw from the task at hand.
He didn’t know what Linus had said to Wizard Fa Ao, but he suspected it was nothing good.
Was Linus seeking Fa Ao’s help for revenge?
How could he, a re Apprentice Wizard, order around an Official Wizard?
Ronan also didn’t think he had ever offended Linus.
If anything, he had once saved Linus’s life…
Surely, he wasn’t planning to go out of his way to kill him just because Ronan knew of his true character?
…
In an instant, nurous thoughts tumbled through Ronan’s mind, his thoughts in disarray.
As he was weighing his dilemma, Fa Ao’s voice resounded through the area.
“Since everyone is here and there are no issues, let’s set off.”
Fa Ao’s voice was refreshing, with an indisputable authority that mobilized the entire group.
Ronan’s expression changed, but in the end, he moved forward with the crowd.
The chance to obtain a God Burning Potion was too rare; he couldn’t give up due to so unfounded concerns.
Otherwise, all the effort put in during the five days of preparation would have been for nothing.
The group moved forward until they reached an open plaza where a Magic Airship lay at rest.
Everyone boarded the airship under Fa Ao’s lead.
Most of the Wandering Wizards in the group were riding such a small Magic Airship for the first ti, a mix of barely contained excitent and agitation.
They didn’t look like they were about to embark on a dangerous mission of unknowns; it was more akin to a collective outing.
The Young Wizards from the Academy looked coldly at the reactions of the Wandering Grey Robes, as if watching a bunch of country bumpkins who hadn’t seen the world.
Wizard Fa Ao, however, maintained a smile, giving off a rather approachable vibe.
