"Given the current state of your soul, using this most basic Dawn Promotion Array to aid in advancent, the chances of success will be very small... it’s a complete waste of ti and resources."
"If you want to advance smoothly, you need at least to construct an Interdiate Promotion Array; and if you want to solve most of the soul aftereffects during this advancent, it’s best to choose a more advanced Promotion Array.."
In response, Alazan presented two plans for Ronan to choose from: the first plan rely aims for smooth advancent, while the second plan ensures advancent while perfectly resolving the aftereffects.
But even the primary solution requires resources more than ten tis Ronan’s originally planned expectations.
Ronan rembers the last ti he was worried about Magic Stones was when he was a Wandering Wizard in the Hoddam Tree House District. He didn’t expect to have to beco a "working man" again to accumulate for his future after becoming a Level 3 Wizard.
Exiting the private Secret Realm Space, Ronan ascended straight up along the dim and bottomless waterfall abyss. On the way, he saw other Wizards of the Deep Sea Faction flying out from even lower areas. Behind the waterfall in this region, possibly lie a series of Secret Realm Spaces.
Walking out of the abyss waterfall, the circular lake surface surrounded by a white void.
Following the guidance of the "Spirit Lake Book," Ronan found a nearby spot, murmuring a spell while using the Spirit Lake Magic Ring worn on his right ring finger to swiftly sketch out a special pattern in the void.
Very soon, ripples like water waves appeared in the void, and a narrow glowing portal appeared in front of Ronan.
Ronan pushed open the door and bent down to squeeze through.
Behind the Light Gate was a similarly narrow crystal corridor that widened as he walked. After about half the ti of an hourglass, Ronan encountered a small door covered in flowers and vines.
The green vines coiled around the door had already grown into the corridor, occupying over half the passage’s space. Ronan carefully avoided them, maneuvering around to continue forward.
Later, he encountered doors constructed of wriggling blood and flesh, doors made of flowing water... until he reached in front of a plain wooden door with a brass ring lock, where he finally stopped.
Ronan gently knocked on the small door, which soon creaked open from the inside.
Instead of seeing Heliodor, he saw a beautiful big white cat clawing at the door fra.
"Thank you, Silver Coin."
Ronan thanked earnestly, but the latter ignored him, yawned, and turned to leave.
Ronan pushed open the wooden door and stepped inside, where he was greeted by a rather pungent sll, a mixture of various herbal fragrances and wine, so strong it was overwhelming.
As he took a few more steps forward, the first thing that caught his eye was an enormous oak tree, many tis larger than the one nad "Tataka" he encountered when entering Spirit Lake.
This space itself was already very large, about two to three tis Ronan’s private Secret Realm Space, and the oak tree occupied two-thirds of the entire space, showcasing its lush and robust nature.
The branches of the old oak tree hung down from the ceiling of the space, with a tal or glass jar suspended at the end of each branch, of various sizes. So jars were filled with unknown liquids, others with sothing resembling blood clots, so with living creatures, and others had smoke-like spiritual bodies...
Ronan even saw in a palm-sized crystal jar an ancient fairy, naked and sealed with runes, sitting lancholically contemplating sothing.
"Who is it?!"
An aged voice called out from beneath the oak tree.
Following the sound, Ronan noticed a massive wooden laboratory table under the oak tree. Beside it was a peculiar tal alchemy furnace, bubbling with sothing that occasionally emitted sounds resembling won’s screams.
Heliodor, draped in a black lab robe, erged from behind the oak tree, raising a hand to beckon Ronan over.
"You’re two minutes late..."
Heliodor glanced at the crystal pocket watch in his hand and spoke sowhat dissatisfied, "I don’t want the sa situation next ti."
"You didn’t specify how long I needed to arrive within."
Ronan replied calmly.
"Now you know for next ti?"
Heliodor put away the pocket watch, speaking blandly.
Ronan remained unperturbed, rely nodding.
Most elderly Wizards tend to have quirky tempers, he was ntally prepared for this.
"I’ll assign you a task now."
Old Beaver seed to have urgent matters to attend to, quickly pointing in a direction with his finger and speaking rapidly to Ronan, "See that? That’s where you’ll be working for in the future.
Starting now, over the course of the next two years, I need you to help process materials for ten thousand different Magic Potion formulas.
Materials, tools, and the formula list are all on the table...
Alright, now imdiately... go proceed with your work!"
Ronan looked in the direction Heliodor pointed, seeing a much smaller tal laboratory table, with so potion mixing vessels haphazardly placed on it.
However, he didn’t move imdiately but quietly observed Heliodor in front of him.
"Why are you dawdling?"
Heliodor frowned at him, speaking in a sowhat cold tone, "Are you waiting for to get an assistant for you too?"
"Before proceeding with all this, shouldn’t you discuss with ..."
Ronan paused, then continued, "About the matter of rewards."
"You’re talking to about compensation?"
Heliodor clicked his tongue, looking him up and down with an incredulous gaze.
"I think you might have forgotten my identity, and your own, forgotten that if it weren’t for picking you up from the ’trash pile’, with your soul quality, you would have long been swept out of Spirit Lake..."
"Then I apologize."
Ronan exhaled lightly.
Heliodor narrowed his eyes, speaking coldly, "You want to refuse ?"
"No."
Ronan shook his head, "I have no such intention.
It’s just that with my poor potential, in order to advance to Level 4, I must put in more ti and effort than others.
At this stage, I can’t afford to expend resources on a task that offers no compensation...
I can assure you, once I gather the necessary materials to construct the Promotion Array, I will return here imdiately."
Ronan bowed deeply to Heliodor before him, then turned to walk toward the exit of the space.
The whole space was terrifyingly silent during this process, only the bubbling of the alchemy furnace and the yawning sound of the big white cat, Silver Coin, could be heard.
Ronan’s expression was calm, already prepared ntally to bear anything.
The worst outco would be Heliodor using thods to force him into "unpaid labor," he mainly wanted to express his stance to the other party.
Five sessions of Spirit Heart Amber practice had greatly strengthened his ability to discern the purity of souls, while Heliodor, though eccentric, had a gentle soul aura and likely wouldn’t do anything too outlandish.
Just as Ronan was about to reach the space exit, finally, Heliodor’s voice rang out.
"It seems you’ve realized the chasm you must inevitably face stepping from Level 3 to Level 4..."
Ronan stopped, turned around, and saw that Heliodor did not have the angry and furious expression he expected; he was even smiling.
"Without exceptional talent, a strong identity, and background, for an ordinary Level 3 Wizard to cross this step is indeed not an easy task.
Sotis, the necessary resources can crush a person..."
Heliodor murmured to himself in agreent, then looked up at Ronan, saying lightly, "Now I can be your background, and the Deep Sea also has inexhaustible resources...
The premise is that your performance can be satisfactory enough to ."
Heliodor tossed sothing to Ronan, who caught it with his hand—it was a brand new Space Ring filled with various precious magic potion materials.
"Get to it quickly. Also, everything here must be left behind before you leave.
If I find out otherwise... there won’t be a next ti."
"Happy to serve you."
Ronan bowed, and Heliodor turned away, ignoring him.
Ronan achieved his goal and slowly walked to the workbench Heliodor had designated for him.
On the cluttered bench, aside from related mixing vessels, lay a few potion formulas scrawled in ssy handwriting.
Ronan counted them; far from the ten thousand portions, the paper didn’t even have twenty recipes, but the steps for handling each material were written in great detail.
"Finish these first, then ask for the subsequent formulas..."
Heliodor’s voice ca from afar, "When you encounter problems, try solving them yourself first; the books you might need are over on that shelf...
If it’s sothing you can’t handle, then co ask , but preferably don’t, as I don’t want to waste my precious ti on foolish questions..."
Ronan glanced around and found the shelf Heliodor ntioned; it was in a corner of the space, a naturally grown birch tree in the shape of a bookshelf, with Silver Coin curled up there napping.
He did not delay, carefully reading through the content Heliodor had written on paper several tis, then used a funnel tube filled with pollen from a large white blossom nearby to fetch clean water, washing each tool and vessel on the workbench, drying them with a spell.
He then retrieved the magic potions from the Space Ring given by Heliodor, comparing them one by one with the Spirit Lake Book and sorted through them ticulously.
This process took him quite so ti, and by the ti Ronan officially began processing the magic potion materials listed in the first formula, it was already the morning of the next day.
The materials listed in Heliodor’s formula had extrely stringent requirents for ratios; with so materials, discrepancies needed to be controlled to within the weight of a single speck of dust.
Fortunately, having studied Ancient Star ditation for so long, Ronan’s spiritual power was far more refined than that of the average Level 3 Wizard, and with the powerful restorative effects of the Clear Sky Realm, after initial failures due to unskilled techniques, the subsequent process beca increasingly smooth and fluent.
On the character panel, in the skills section, the long-forgotten skill representing magic potions’ proficiency began to steadily increase.
Ronan worked tirelessly for seven days straight, then would leave for a while, returning to his residence for half a month of routine spell and ditation practice.
So it went, back and forth.
Heliodor seed to have tacitly approved of this schedule and did not raise any objections.
