Chapter 264: Chapter 139: The Pursuit, a Frozen Blood Egg?!_2

“As stated in the notes, once the Holy Shrine is opened, the stored Holy Shrine Power inside will gradually dissipate over ti regardless of whether it has been absorbed or not….”

“Angelie was clearly aware of this and thus decisively left upon discovering the abnormality on the Cold Scaled Python…”

Ronan retraced the entire truth of the matter, but within that truth, there was one point he hadn’t fully understood yet.

Why did the trio of Cold Scaled Pythons, who had swallowed and absorbed the power sealed within the Holy Shrine, appear as if they had been drained of their essence blood, as though they had just erged from a great battle, heavily wounded and not yet healed?

One would think that having just awakened the Ancient Ice Crystal Demon Snake Bloodline and completed their transformation, their combat power should be strong, and they should be the sovereigns of this forest area.

The Magic Beast bones scattered throughout the Snake Nest also confird this.

How could they have suffered such serious injuries in this state? Could there be an existence even more powerful than them in this forest—a Fourth Rank Dawn Magical Beast?!

If there was, the people from the three great Wizard Families would have surely known about it….

“Forget it….”

Ronan quickly dismissed the confusion in his mind.

The Holy Shrine had already been opened, and the Cold Scaled Pythons that absorbed the power inside were either dead or captured.

Pondering over the answer to this question now was utterly aningless…

However, the notes given by Old Wells had also recorded a thod of using the existing “Holy Shrine” to find and excavate the next “Holy Shrine,” which he could use the materials at hand to prepare for his next expedition.

From the information he currently had, the power stored in the Holy Shrine seed to have an incredible effect of enabling the transformation and evolution of Demon Beast Bloodlines. He wondered what it would be like if a person absorbed it… But no matter what, it was very attractive to Ronan.

“Sizzle…#%..chant…”

Ronan intoned a low, ancient Spell as described in the notes.

The Spell imbued with spiritual power gently plucked, like the strings of a harp, creating invisible ripples in the air.

The black unidentified liquid that scattered along with the shattered black Stone Pillars was lifted into the air by the Spell, gathered by an invisible force in front of Ronan and then ford into a thin, semi-transparent black line that rapidly extended above the Snake Nest.

Ronan swept the surroundings, ensuring that nothing had been overlooked in the Snake Nest, then took to the air, following the guidance of the semi-transparent black line swiftly toward the outside of the Snake Nest.

This thod could denote the location of the nearest “Holy Shrine” containing “Holy Shrine Power.”

However, due to the distance being too great, the transparent black line he summoned often could not fully reach the next “Holy Shrine.” It could only point in a general direction, requiring Ronan to continue the search along this direction and cast Spells repeatedly to confirm the exact location.

Ronan had no imdiate plans to “follow the map to find the horse” to delve into the secrets of the next “Holy Shrine.” Casting this Secret Technique was purely a convenient use of the waste black unidentified liquid scattered on the ground.

Leaving the Snake Nest, Ronan watched as the semi-transparent guiding black line rapidly extended into the sky in the southwest direction.

He watched quietly, waiting for the mont the black line completely disappeared.

However…

Just as the transparent black line stretched far out, Ronan confird the direction, almost ready to retract his gaze,

he saw the extending transparent black line suddenly change direction, plumting down rapidly.

Ronan’s pupils contracted, and a few breaths later, his figure moved quickly, following the trajectory of the black line.

Was the location of the nearest “Holy Shrine” actually near this Snake Nest?!

Impossible, could it be such a coincidence?

Ronan’s heart pounded with disbelief yet full of anticipation as he rapidly closed in.

The howling wind whistled past his ears, his eyes fixed on the trajectory of the transparent black line.

Following the trail, until tens of kiloters away from the Snake Nest, Ronan personally witnessed the transparent black line, guided by an invisible force, quickly dive into a snow pit in a dense snow forest and then disappear rapidly.

Ronan ca to a stop, his eyes peculiarly observing the snow pit that had engulfed the black line.

His spiritual power spread out, and he quickly noticed sothing amiss.

Within a nearby area, all the free Ice-type Energy Particles seed to be converging towards the snow nest in front of him. Streams of cold air cascaded down, continuously extending deeper underground…

Ronan’s eyes flickered, and suddenly he conjured a fireball in his hand. The fireball brewed in his palm, continually absorbing the sparse Fire Elent Free Energy Particles from the surrounding air, slowly growing in size.

When the fireball expanded to several ters in diater, “Go!” Ronan hurled it towards the center where all the Ice Energy Particles and cold streams were converging.

The fireball whistled out, the intense heat it emitted fiercely colliding with the surrounding chill. As the fireball kept shrinking, at the very mont it was about to be completely engulfed by the cold air, it exploded with a bang!

Rolling heatwaves instantly cleared the thick layer of snow beneath, with steam rising and snowlt flowing… The surface of the ground close to the earth’s surface was revealed.

With the top layer of snow cleared, Ronan discovered a long fissure in the rock below.

The fissure was only about seven or eight ters in size, and the space inside it was entirely filled with thick ice. The guiding black line he had followed all the way here plunged below the solid ice, and it was unclear how much further down it extended.

“Another Holy Shrine altar located underground?”

Ronan’s brows furrowed, but his hands didn’t stop.

He continued to conjure the Fireball Technique, bombarding the ice below.

With his current strength as a Level 2 Wizard, even a casually conjured Fireball Technique was quite powerful. The terrible heat from the fireball rapidly lted the ice in the fissure. The lted water, after flowing out a distance, quickly refroze due to the cold air, forming a continuously growing “iceberg”.

In the middle of the iceberg, Ronan used a Spell to carve out a deep pit. From the pit, white mist billowed, constantly bursting out flakes and snowflakes of ice.

Ronan did not know how long he had been “digging” downwards, excavating while steadily descending.

His mighty spiritual power was mobilized, turning into an intangible force that pushed all the escaping Ice Frost cold air out, to prevent the opening that had been dug from being sealed again by the cold air.

The base of the fissure was bone-chillingly cold, deep and dark, with Fire Energy Particles in the air becoming rapidly sparse. The Fireball Techniques Ronan summoned beca smaller and weaker…

The guiding black line had not ended yet, and Ronan hesitated.

“Pfft—”

At the bottom of the unfathomable icy abyss, Ronan once again cast the Fireball Technique. However, the fireball he conjured was only the size of less than two fists, and it wasn’t about lting the ice layer–it looked like it could extinguish at any mont. The deeper he went, the more terrifying the cold air below beca.

Ronan began to hesitate about whether to continue descending.

Just as he considered giving up his exploration, suddenly…

“Crack—”

A faint sound, like the cracking of ice layers, ca from beneath him.

Ronan’s expression changed, and he quickly threw the fireball in his hand downward, then squinted his eyes, closely examining with the faint light emitted by the fireball.

The orange light of the fire barely illuminated a stretch in the dark and gloomy ice layer. Ronan saw, just a few ters below himself, a huge oval object lying quietly amid the endless ice.

One end of the semi-transparent guiding black line plunged into this object, aning he was already very close to his ultimate goal.

“Not a Holy Shrine?!”

Ronan’s brows slightly furrowed, with rapid flashes in his eyes.

The oval object below clearly didn’t resemble a Holy Shrine altar, but with the black line guiding…could it be that the “Holy Shrine Power” lies within the object?!

“Boom boom!”

Ronan quickly threw several fireballs, and in the instant light from their explosion, he strained to gain a full view of the oval object.

Dark red, smooth, the surface covered with blood-coagulation-like patterns… It looked almost like a bizarre… egg?!
