The next day.

While having breakfast with Edgar, Noah voiced his concerns about William Wood, the corrupt CEO.

His loyalty to the company worries him. Last night, he learned from his 'Wealth Managent System' that the presidential room is always empty. Yet, William uses it for personal needs, bringing won in almost daily as if it's ant for his mistress.

Yesterday, Diana turned him down when he tried to book this room. This room will only be available for booking when the head office makes arrangents for an executive from the capital.

Just after Noah asked for Edgar's opinion, a system notification suddenly appeared in his revenge ledger, revealing that his target was William Wood.

[Revenge Ledger Updated.]

"Sir, all decisions about your company will now rest with you. I will only assist after you choose." Edgar smiled, understanding what truly troubled his young master at that mont.

Edgar's voice pulled Noah from his system notification. Noah didn't respond imdiately; instead, he drank his coffee before deciding.

After Noah chooses [Fired], he feels good about removing a toxic person from his company.

But above all that, he was curious about the Bonus in his system.

'Ability unlock... Lie detection? What's that?' Noah muttered.

It didn't take long; Edgar's phone rang, and he let Edgar pick up his cell phone.

Noah watched Edgar, who was speaking by the window, before shifting his attention to the new cell phone his father had given him, attempting to get used to it.

The phone appeared advanced and secure. According to Edgar, no one could trace or hack it.

A few monts later, the cellphone in his hand vibrated, and a text ssage arrived, shocking him.

"Noah, rember that we need to check on the side project. I hope you can arrive at the office earlier for a briefing." From: Emma

'Damn it! How could I forget about my work at the construction company?' He sighed deeply and replied to Emma, assuring her he would be there on ti.

Noah glanced at Edgar, noting his continued talking. To distract himself, he checked another notification. He saw that Julia and most of their high school friends had called him the night before.

He recalled keeping his cell phone silent all night and hadn't noticed their calls.

'Why did they call? This is weird!' Noah wondered as he opened a text ssage from Julia.

"Noah, where are you? Why didn't you pick up my call? I need you to et as soon as possible!" From: Julia

After reading the text ssage, he frowned a bit, and when he checked the ti, he realized it was from last night.

Curious about what happened to Julia, he discovered another text waiting for him.

"I need you to join for a press conference. You must acknowledge that it was just a joke. We created a humorous video, and that's it, not reality! No worries, I will pay you well, $1,000!" From: Julia

Noah's expression flickered; he was tempted to curse but held back his anger—after all, that woman didn't deserve it. Still, he felt at a loss for words. Julia had the audacity to ask him to lie.

"Sir, are you okay? Is sothing troubling you?" Edgar's voice caught Noah off guard. He dismissed Julia's ridiculous ssage and raised his gaze to et Edgar's eyes.

"No. Nothing troubles , and I'm perfectly okay. What about you? Did sothing occur in the capital? They seem to need you there. You can go now, Edgar."

"Sir, I need to remain here longer. Did you choose to fire William Wood?" Edgar asked as he noticed Noah nodding slightly. He smiled before adding, "I will personally take care of him, Sir. It will be faster that way!"

Noah smiled while rubbing his neck. "Thank you, Edgar. I made this decision for the company's benefit! He's like a parasite!"

"Hahaha, I totally agree with you! No worries, I'll clean up this situation with the managent and ensure he receives appropriate punishnt."

"That sounds great! However, I can't join you right now because I have to head sowhere else," Noah said. He explained he needed to resign from his job in this city before moving to the capital.

...

After a brief conversation with Edgar, Noah left the hotel.

He hailed a taxi and asked the driver to speed toward the city's outskirts, heading to Caldwell Construction.

Thirty minutes later, the car finally ca to a stop in front of a five-story building. It appeared old but remained sturdy.

Noah got out of the car right after settling the taxi fare. However, before he could approach the building, a woman called out to him, halting his steps.

When he glanced back, he noticed a young woman approaching him in a sky-blue shirt and skinny jeans. Her dark brown, wavy hair beautifully highlighted her features. She was Emma Caldwell, his friend.

Noticing her dull brown eyes and tight cherry lips, a sense of unease filled Noah. He realized sothing was wrong with Emma.

"Noah, you finally ca. Why a taxi? You wasted your money again, Noah," Emma said, standing before him.

"It's okay. I just took a taxi for a few miles, so there's no need to worry about the cost." He smiled at her, attempting to ease her concerns. "What's wrong? Why do you seem upset, Emma?"

Seeing Emma's hands tightly clenched, Noah understood sothing was bothering her.

"Hey, Emma, tell what happened?" Noah pressured.

Emma parted her lips several tis, trying to speak, but no words erged, only heightening Noah's worry.

"What holds you back? Emma, speak up—I'll do my best to assist you..." Even before becoming a billionaire, he offered to help her.

He is willing to do anything for her. Emma was the only girl who viewed him with genuine sincerity and without judgnt; he was just a poor man. Despite being the daughter of the construction company they worked for, Caldwell Construction, she saw him for who he truly was.

Emma blinked slowly, looking at Noah. "It seems we might close down the company..."
