After Matthew shut the bedroom door, he made his way to the lounge nearby.
His expression was no longer as calm as it had been, but gradually grew tense. He sat on the single sofa and made a phone call.
"Edgar!" Matthew’s voice is not as cheerful as usual, but firm. "Noah finally made his first kill!"
"He did? That fast?" Edgar sounds surprised.
"Yeah!" Matthew chuckled, looking at the bedroom door. He had already heard from Noah about his strong dislike for Jack Donovan. Still, he never expected him to be so terrifying as to beat Jack to a pulp and send him straight to his demise.
"How is his condition?"
"He managed it well, and now he cleans himself." Matthew paused for a mont, taking a deep breath before continuing calmly. "Edgar, we might arrive there faster than expected. Get ready for his arrival!"
"Absolutely! Take care, and see you all soon!"
...
After a few more minutes, Matthew noticed the bedroom door swinging open, and Noah appeared in the sa outfit he had worn earlier, but it was now clean.
There were no traces of blood stains, and he looked fresh as if he had just taken a shower. His expression was no longer as dark as before; now, he was calm and friendly.
Matthew approached him and asked, "Sir, is there anything you need help with?"
"Let’s go back..." Noah said calmly, heading toward the elevator. He had no reason to stay here any longer.
Ten minutes later, their vehicle erged from the dense, dark forest, where the silence in the car felt suffocating.
Noah remained silent, and Matthew, sensing that his boss needed the quiet, refrained from asking him anything.
But as their car was speeding along the highway, Noah finally broke the silence.
"Matthew, I’m ready to move to the capital now!"
"What date and ti would you like to fly there, Sir? I’ll arrange our ride..." Matthew swiftly looked at him before returning his focus to the road ahead.
"Tomorrow! Evening seems better than morning. I may need ti to sort things out and wrap up everything here."
Matthew was taken aback to hear that. He cast a quick glance at him. "Consider it done, Sir. I’ll arrange our flight tomorrow evening; please let know if you need assistance sorting things out in this city."
"Thanks, Matthew..." Noah also told him about his plan to visit his mom’s grave tomorrow morning.
Noah wasn’t sure when he would return to this city; he wanted to keep his promise to Alicia and visit their mom’s resting place one last ti before they moved away.
Before they finally enter the city, sothing crosses Noah’s mind. He wants to ask Matthew, but he doesn’t get the chance.
"Matthew, may I ask you about my guard team?"
"Yes, sure..."
"I learned from Seven that he leads the Red Team. Can you explain what the Red Team is? Is there another team available to assist ?"
Matthew started explaining to Noah how his security details assist him from the shadows.
"Six teams are prepared to assist you whenever needed. Each team has its designated level and responsibilities, ranked from lowest to highest: the Green Team, Yellow Team, Red Team, Purple Team, Black Team, and at the top, the Shadow Team."
"Each team has varying levels of ability. However, the security team will be able to assist you based on your power level. In other words, the more powerful your enemy is, the stronger the team will co to your aid."
"Sir, with your current level, three teams have already stepped in to assist you: the Green Team, the Yellow Team, and the Red Team. You have already t directly with the Red Team, and yes, their leader is Seven. They are ready to handle anything you need and will co to your aid if you’re in distress and danger."
Noah was stunned to hear Matthew’s explanation; he didn’t expect the people around him also to have their own power level.
Now, he is excited to et his other team.
However, his excitent gradually turns into worry and curiosity when he realizes that his enemy will grow stronger, too.
"Matthew, you ntioned that my enemy will grow stronger as I beco more powerful?"
"Yes. Sir, I can’t explain the details to you. Because we never know who will co after you." Matthew calmly replies, but Noah feels his stomach twist inside.
Noah felt a mix of excitent and fear about what awaited him in the capital.
...
As Noah stepped into the apartnt, he noticed that the living room was softly illuminated, just enough for him to see Jason’s silhouette peacefully asleep on the couch.
Not wanting to wake him, he strolled toward his bedroom but paused after only a few steps when Jason suddenly woke up and stood facing him as if he were trying to attack him.
"Ah, Noah, you’re here..." Jason greeted him with a hoarse voice.
"Jason, I apologize for waking you up..." Noah felt guilty. He added, "Thank you for looking after my sister. You’re free to return ho and get so rest."
"It’s all good; it’s my responsibility to protect you and your family," Jason said with a reassuring smile as he made his way toward the main entrance. Suddenly, he halted in his tracks upon passing Noah.
"Noah, are you injured?" Jason asked, worry flashing in his gaze.
"Injured? Of course not."
Jason frowned as he inspected Noah from head to toe, wanting to ensure he wasn’t hurt, but he saw nothing. Despite his thorough examination, a sense of suspicion lingered.
"Noah, I sll blood..."
Noah was impressed that Jason could sll the blood even though he had washed it properly.
"Well, I deal with so unfriendly folks, and things can get a little ssy, like when their blood accidentally splatters on . But, man, there’s no need to worry—I’m doing just fine!" Noah smiled to reassure him.
Jason was at a loss for words. He wondered why Noah always encountered trouble without him. "I’m glad you’re safe, Noah."
"Hmm, thanks. Jason... tomorrow night, we will be flying to the capital. I hope you can join us. However, if you need to care for your father first, you can follow later."
Jason’s eyes reflected surprise, but he said nothing, rely nodding before excusing himself.
