Noah felt a bit disappointed after learning that Matthew didn’t bring the news he genuinely wanted to hear.

Regardless, his trusted assistant stood beside him and continued to make so progress.

He felt at ease.

"Matthew, I’m pleased you’re here. But get so rest. You can stop by tomorrow morning instead."

Matthew turned to look at him and returned his smile with a light chuckle.

"Sir, I need to stand beside you for this. So much is happening, and I must lead the team to pursue the true enemy lurking around you behind the shadow."

Noah’s expression gradually lost its ease.

"Matthew, is there soone you suspect?"

"No! And that’s what bothers , Sir. We can’t predict what will happen to you, so preparing certain asures is hard. Nevertheless, we prepare to expect the unexpected, Sir, to ensure your safety beforehand. We rely on our quick response team for that."

Noah sighed quietly upon hearing his response.

What did he expect? Of course, if there were a way to identify that individual, his system would alert him in advance.

"How about you, sir?"

Matthew’s question pulled Noah from his troubled thoughts about the enemy lurking behind him. He believed whoever ca to kill his mother was doing it because of him.

A gentle smile slowly appeared on Noah’s lips. He let out a deep, thoughtful sigh and turned to gaze at the dark sky outside the window before answering Matthew.

"Well, Matthew, you already know so of my enemies—White and Donovan. They’ve been a constant source of trouble for in the past. But interestingly, no one here seems to know about my mother. By the way, did you say they are now under your watch?" Noah glanced at him.

"Yes. After what they did to you, we assigned a few people to keep an eye on them. To shadow their every movent." Matthew assured him. "Sir, do you rember who is aware of your mother receiving treatnt in this hospital?"

Noah paused for a mont, trying to rember.

There were only a few people, and one of them was Emma.

But why would Emma want to kill his mother? It couldn’t be her, right?

’Oh shit! How could I forget about her? That damn Julia Hart! She knows about my mother!’

Noah felt his knees buckle, grasping the wall beside him to stay on his feet.

Matthew grabbed Noah’s arm to steady him. Ensuring he was upright, he locked his eyes onto Noah’s.

"Sir, what’s the matter? Are you alright? I believe you need so rest now. It’s almost dawn..."

Noah ignored Matthew’s words. His expression was horrified.

"Matthew, please ask soone to investigate Julia Hart. She knows about my mother!"

"Julia Hart?"

"Yes! She’s the one who embarrassed before I received my inheritance. And she knows about my mother in this hospital!"

"I rember her! Don’t worry, Sir; I’ll arrange it now," Matthew said calmly, though worry lingered in his eyes. "Sir, you should go inside and rest. There’s no reason to worry about this. I promise to share the good news when you wake up!"

"Thanks..."

Noah agreed with Matthew, then left him and entered the VIP room.

Once he checked that his sister was still sleeping, he went into the other bedroom designated for family mbers and flopped down on the soft bed.

...

The next day.

The burial process for his mother went smoothly, thanks to Jason’s thorough preparations and Matthew’s assistance, all completed just before lunchti.

Noah felt a sense of relief after having cared for his adoptive mother as he buried her beside their adoptive father.

anwhile, Alicia found herself unable to leave the cetery. She fainted once more!

This ti, Noah didn’t take her to the hospital. Instead, they headed to a villa and ordered a private doctor for her.

Noah glanced at Jason, who now looked stressed before him. "Jason, you don’t have to stay here. You can return to Opal City to accompany your father."

Jason was reluctant but still worried about his father’s surgery. "But how about you? How could I leave you here?"

Noah walked out of Alicia’s room and led them to the living room. He smiled to reassure Jason, "I will be fine, Jason."

"Yes, no need to worry, Jason. I’m here with Noah. No one could harm him. Trust !" Matthew chid in, offering Jason a faint smile.

Noah slightly nods, hearing Matthew’s words. He knew that Matthew was more powerful than Jason.

"You can take my car, Jason. As soon as I settle my matters here, I’ll head to Opal City," he explained.

Even though reluctant, Jason agreed with him, "Thank you, Noah."

"Don’t say that! Just call if anything happens, Jason," Noah said while leading him to the front yard.

He already promised Jason they would return to Opal City today, but it seems he needs to stay one more day here to settle his sister’s matter.

After Jason left, Noah and Matthew returned to the living area.

But before they could settle on the sofa, a sudden buzzing sound from his notification system rang in his ears.

’Did they succeed in throwing the doctor into jail? That was quick!?’ Noah pondered. He glanced at Matthew, wanting to ask him about it, but saw him speaking on the phone in the corner.

He allowed Matthew to talk while he sat on the sofa, reading so news on his cell phone.

How surprised Noah was to read the headline—business news trending on all platforms.

"The mysterious tycoon, Anderson Morgan, has appointed a successor. Identity unknown!"

"The secrets surrounding the new CEO of Golden Phoenix Group will be unveiled shortly!"

Noah’s hand trembled slightly as he glanced at another news report and saw a similar headline.

After trying to find out what he was worried about, he felt relieved to see that his na wasn’t ntioned.

However, he started to fear because the article had now beco a trending topic on all social dia in the country.

It’s only a matter of ti before people who know his last na start linking him to Anderson Morgan.

Curious, Noah accessed his social dia.

He felt relief when he realized he hadn’t used his real na on Instagram and had fewer than ten followers. But a few of his friends jokingly comnted on his latest post about it, leading him to lock his social dia accounts.

"What the hell happened? Why did this news get out?" Noah murmured as he kept reading all the updates.

"Sir, did you read the news?"

Matthew’s voice drew Noah’s attention away from his cell phone. He nodded at him and asked, "Why did the news about it leak on the internet?"

"This is a family battle, Sir. Your father’s siblings know about the inheritance that passed to you, so they have started a buzz to find you."

Noah’s eyes widened in annoyed shock, but his lips smiled with bitterness, saying, "Oh, did they find out my profile?"

"Not yet! Your identity is safe, but we must hurry back to base."
