A few weeks after the terror attack Mike and Julie was back on Threa, their goal was to level up to level 6, then get used to their strength before they headed to the central continent, as to how they were planning to do this was simple: Dungeon runs, but not like they used to, currently, it was the 2nd day in the dungeon
'Or at least I would like to think so Maybe my sense of ti is already off..?
Mike was alone with 3 of the demonic servants, he and Julie had decided to go to each their dungeon to be more focused on leveling up
"How are our supplies, Elina?"
"We still have water for another week and food for the sa amount of ti"
"I see Well then let's press onwards to What floor again?"
"Floor 28 master"
"Thank you, Rebecca"
Mike was not in the dungeon in Tursk, instead, he was in another dungeon city nad Herlga, the dungeon here was considered to be harder than the one in Tursk and it gave better and bigger monster crystals as well as more monster cores yearly than the dungeon in Tursk as so the competition here was fiercer, Mike and the other 3 had already killed a few parties of adventurers that had tied to rob them
'Well it's not like we need the money anyway, but I don't like getting looked down upon'
Over the next week, Mike and the three demonic servants moved further and further down the dungeon, then on the 7th day they ran out of food and water and decided to use a stone of passage to return to the first floor after having cleared out the 37th floor, as they returned to the surface Mike entrusted Elina to go and cash in their loot before he looked into a backpack, inside the pack lay 3 monster cores
'What to do about these babies'
Mike closed the backpack again and decided to sleep on it
"Let's find an inn"
"""Yes master"""
The group soon walked into an inn where Elina checked them in, Mike got a room for himself and went to bed after he finished showering
Waking up after having spent what felt like weeks in the void gazing at the person/demon Mike took a few minutes to rember what he was doing before he got up and got dressed before he called out
"Elina"
There was a few seconds of silence before Elina opened the door to the room and walked in
"Yes, master?"
"What are you hiding from ?"
Elina stiffened up for a mont before she kneeled down on the floor and spoke out
"I apologize, master, please grant rciful oblivion at your discretion!"
Mike gave a sigh as he narrowed his eyes
"...You think you can simply die and escape punishnt?"
"No master, it's just---"
"Just what?"
"...Nothing, I apologize master!"
"...We are going in circles here, just tell what you have been hiding Then I will determine your punishnt"
"Reporting to master We seem to have run out of funding"
"...What?"
Mike paused, then gave a sigh and kicked Elina in the side with all his strength sending her flying, before he began thinking, after a few minutes of thinking he gave a sigh
"I guess all those slaves or rather blood bags and Julie used to train have drained our finances a lot Plus the trip to the shitty little island I can see now that we would run out of money, yes this makes sense"
Mike glanced over at Elina that was in the very painful process of regenerating the right side of her ribcage and asked
"Are we in debt?"
"No... Master But We Only Have Around 5.000 Left"
"Okay then Let's take so work from the guild then, oh Rebecca?"
Rebecca opened the door and walked in before she kneeled down respectfully
"Yes, master?"
"I'll entrust you with these monster cores, sell them for a good price"
"Yes master"
Mike walked over and sat down on the bed and thought for a mont before he called the final demonic servant that he had with him into the room
"Lina"
Lina walked in a knelled down much like Rebecca had done before and asked respectfully
"Yes, master?"
"Go to the guild and find a high paying job in the dungeon"
"Yes, master!"
Lina went to work at once, her eyes brimd with confidence and eagerness to do her assigned job to the utmost of her capabilities, it was after all rare that she was entrusted with anything to do by her dear master or mistress for that matter, thus she was not going to fail
About an hour later Mike left the inn room to go to the guild, Lina had secured a high paying job of escorting a noble to the 20th floor for so coming of age ceremony, Mike didn't really care what it was about but rather that they were paid 10.000 each for it
'Seems a little suspicious Oh well if anything happens we're strong enough to fight our way out'
Mike nodded to himself, he had almost decided to take this request, he only needed to see the noble first and his potential escorts before he made the final decision, as he walked into the guild he felt nothing out of the ordinary and thus he walked upstairs to the eting room where Lina was waiting for him along with the noble, Mike walked into the room and saw a young man in his early 20's along with an elder man in his 40's that was wearing a butler uniform, his eyes lingered on the man in the butler uniform for a mont before he looked at the young noble that likewise examined him for a mont before the two of them nodded almost at the sa ti, Mike showed a calm smile as he spoke
"I look forwards to working with you"
The young noble nodded before he spoke
" too You must be Mike, the leader of this party?"
"Yep"
"I see Well then Mike my na is John of the house of Trust"
John reached his hand out to Mike, Mike took the hand and shook it before he asked
"So, when are we leaving for the dungeon?"
"At once That is unless you have so preparations to do?"
"I have already sent soone to buy supplies for the trip, they will be waiting for us at the entrance of the dungeon"
"I see Well then, let's move"
"Agreed"
The newly ford party walked out of the guild and into the dungeon that laid not far from there, on the way Mike learned a little more of this coming of age ceremony, all that it required was for John to land the last hit on the boss of the 20th floor, as they walked through the first floor they ran into a group of goblins, John spoke to Mike
"Now please show what you can do Mike"
"Sure thing Watch this"
Mike kicked off the ground, he moved slower than usual but he was still very fast as he neared the first goblin he didn't even draw the knife he simply kneed it in the face, sending it flying backward with a shattered skull, from there it was a pure slaughter, John watched on with a calm expression and asked the butler that stood next to him
"Why doesn't he use his knife?"
"I can only assu that he's a barehanded combat class and the knife is for digging out monster crystals"
John gave a nod, as he did he heard a scuff from the side and looked over at the armored person before he asked
"You disagree miss?"
Rebecca shugged before she spoke
"Master simply doesn't want to dirty his knife with goblin blood"
"I see"
John looked ahead again and saw Mike kicking the head of the last goblin clean off its shoulders like a soccer ball sending it flying further down the tunnel, Mike breathed out before he spoke
"And that's that"
John clapped as he approached Mike
"Well done Mike"
"Thanks, now let's move onwards"
"What about the monster crystals?"
"They aren't worth our ti on this floor, we'll leave them"
"I see Well then let's move on"
The group moved rather quickly through the dungeon floors, in fact, they could have moved even quicker through the floors if not for John's lacking stamina, right now the group had stopped on the 13th floor and Mike was ready to get so sleep for the first ti since they had entered the dungeon, as for John he was already snoring in his sleeping bag making this the 3rd ti he had slept since they entered the dungeon, Mike sat on a blanket and leaned up against the dungeon wall as he closed his eyes and prepared to face the person in the void once again Soon his consciousness slipped and he once again started dreaming, only this ti he was et with a pair of very open red eyes that looked right at him
"Um Hello?"
