Rain clouds hung above the night sky, partially covering the radiant full moon.

Oliver walked through a dimly lit street near his ho.

The pleasant scent of freshly blood jasmine on the nearby fences enveloped him, lifting his mood.

As Oliver enjoyed the fragrance, suddenly his phone vibrated.

"Boss, you have a tail."

Root sent the simple ssage.

Oliver frowned. He expected sothing like this to happen after the stunt he pulled in the military camp.

"Sigh!" He breathed out.

"They are the ones we saw during the contract signing, the duo that ca along with the general."

"I see," Oliver replied. "Wait a minute. How did you know it was them? Did you hack their phones?" he asked.

Oliver was alone, and two A-rankers were tailing him. Their intentions were obviously bad. And yet, he nonchalantly chatted with Root.

"No, I didn’t have to. The celltowers monitoring system I built was doing a passive scan when I noticed the abnormality."

"So, you hacked into the network provider’s system?"

"You could say that."

"Sigh!" Oliver pressed his temples. "Are you really soone who wants to be a hero?" He typed in the words and hit send, this ti a little harder.

"Boss. I don’t do anything bad with it."

Oliver rolled his eyes.

Hacking a public network can be considered a bad thing. What more does he have to do?

"Anyways, they are trying to intercept you. Boss, beware of them. Bye." Root said and decided to let it be.

Oliver was soone who helped kill an A-rank flood dragon. More importantly, he escaped from the clutches of an S-rank demon without a single injury. Root didn’t have to worry about his safety.

What could two A-rankers do that an S-ranker couldn’t?

"Hey, wait a minute. Send this information to the Thunder Emperor. I don’t want to deal with them today."Oliver imdiately typed back.

"Ok. Done."

It didn’t even take a second for Root to do that.

"Too OP. The ability is too OP."

Oliver muttered and changed his direction.

Instead of returning ho, he decided to walk to a nearby abandoned building, the sa place where so kid bullied his brother.

As he walked, a map appeared on his phone, showing the locations of his followers.

They were following him, maintaining a distance of a hundred ters. Their bodies were hidden perfectly in the darkness, almost blending into it.

Oliver couldn’t see them with his naked eye at all.

’If I used the armour, I could have sensed them.’ He thought.

However, it remained just a thought. There was no way in hell the stupid temperantal armour would co out when he needed it. Oliver was sure of it even without trying.

’I need to train with mana more.’ Oliver decided.

In his past life, before he escaped from the Abyss, he was capable of using a small amount of mana–his mana.

After drowning in healing solutions for years, his body had found a way to adapt and evolve to use mana.

Currently, he was doing sothing similar.

The golden mana from the coin was being steadily absorbed by his cells.

Due to the mana being incompatible, every ti he does that, it will violently resist, ripping apart his tissues.

The more mana he used, the more tissues got damaged.

However, because of his healing ability, he could instantly recover, alleviating all negative side effects.

And because of this cycle, the newly regenerated cells beco more durable and compatible with golden mana.

Oliver believed that once he does it enough tis, replacing all cells in his body with durable mana-acclimated cells, he will be able to store and regenerate golden mana on his own, without the golden coin.

It was certainly possible.

He could feel the changes happening to his body as he used the golden mana.

’It’s a matter of ti.’

Due to his cells fundantally transforming, in his base form, without the use of mana or ability, he was stronger than most humans.

His bones, skin, muscles, tendons, and ligants were all becoming stronger.

In a way, he could be compared to a low-ranked mana beast in pure physical qualities.

It was an unexpected added benefit, but he was thrilled to receive it.

Oliver smiled, thinking about that future.

He soon reached the outskirts of the residential area. A few hundred ters away from him was the abandoned building.

The way to it was covered in thick shrubs and grass.

He weaved through the area, taking the familiar path up.

’Hm...’ Suddenly, he paused.

He could see a bright light above the building.

’Ah! The whole point of coming here was to avoid prying eyes. Who the fuck is it now?’

Oliver glanced up at the building.

Last ti he ca here, his brother, Arin, was being bullied by Stephen.

’Did Stephenie and Victoria return to their old ways?’

It had been almost a month since he last saw them.

’Hm...That’s not possible. The kid is too scared to do it. My blood is still flowing through his veins.’

’Ah! Fuck. Let’s go and see.’

Oliver casually walked into the building.

anwhile, the duo following Oliver hastened their pace.

Initially, they were planning to kidnap Oliver, threaten him to back down from signing the contract with the military and break his legs.

However, now that he had walked into an isolated area all on his own, they didn’t have to kidnap him.

They looked at each other and nodded briefly before following Oliver into the building.

On top of the building, a campfire was lit. Two young n sat around the campfire, grilling chicken.

Both had bandages wrapped around their arms.

"What are you doing?" Suddenly, a voice ca from behind them.

They stood up, startled.

"Grilling chicken at night on an abandoned building!"

The aroma of cooked chicken made Oliver salivate.

He never expected the duo to be cooking sothing.

Did they truly reform and beco good people?

He thought.

But imdiately noticed the bandages wrapped around their arms.

’They must have fought soone recently.’

Stephen and Victor used to be bullies.

Did soone fight them, or did they fight soone?

Oliver was confused.

Stephen has a telekinesis ability with supposedly A-rank talent, and Victor was a body enhancer-type superhuman with excellent defensive capabilities due to his tal skin ability.

Neither was weak.

None in the sa age group could best them if they are working together.

Even Arin, soone naturally gifted in combat, struggled against them.

So, how were they injured?

Oliver wanted to know.
