Albrecht was furious, yet also deeply frustrated.

As the third Dark Apostle of the Blood Demon Church, he was the epito of elusiveness and stealth, renowned for his ability to conceal his presence and erase his tracks.

Even when the Blood Demon Court, which secretly ruled the New Moon Kingdom, was ambushed by the Holy Royal Court, resulting in the fall of no less than three Dark Apostles, he managed to escape unscathed.

But today, for so inexplicable reason, he had capsized.

Recalling the terrifying ambush that had just taken place, Albrecht couldn’t help but feel a shiver of fear.

That sword strike—if he hadn’t fled just a bit faster, it wouldn’t have landed on his shoulder but on his head!

This thought cast an even darker shadow over Albrecht’s pale face.

Heaven knows, to infiltrate the Nobles and the Church of New Moon, he had been lying low in Lutecia for nearly a century.

To avoid exposing his whereabouts, he never took any direct action but instead relied on Taboo Blood Servants and contracted slaves to operate.

The other Dark Apostles even mockingly called him "Coward Albrecht," but he didn’t care.

The ones who make the most noise die the soonest.

He watched other Apostles rise to fa, creating upheaval, and also watched them as they either got exiled or fallen under the Holy Royal Court’s incursions...

Over a millennium, the Dark Apostles of the Blood Demon Church had been replaced over and over.

And yet, he was still alive.

Even his ranking among the Apostles had risen automatically by three places, despite his never having been involved in the Church’s internal power struggles, never having sought to advance in the ranks, and never having curried favor with the Duke.

And all of this... he had scavenged for himself.

But what exactly had just happened?

Albrecht rembered being holed up in a stronghold, in the deepest, darkest chamber designed with such ticulous security asures that he could have escaped unhard even if the Great Priest of the Holy Royal Court had cast a Forbidden Curse Divine Skill at him. Before escaping, he could even have turned to flaunt his middle finger at the Great Priest...

Yet, it was in such a supposedly safe place that he had t with disaster!

He rembered lounging comfortably on a cushion made of velvet and brocade, gifted by the New Moon Nobles, elegantly drinking the transcendent blood of pure maidens, calmly listening to the work reports of his contracted slaves...

With Holy Presence Day approaching, even though he wasn’t particularly interested in summoning the Duke, he knew he had to do sothing to prove his worth. His target was the Capital Mansion of the New Moon Nobles and the New Moon Diocese.

The net had been spread, and he was prepared to strike during the Central Council eting, dealing a heavy blow to the Holy Royal Court and strengthening his control over the Nobles.

Then, he rembered sensing a reaction in the mark planted in the soul of one of his Blood Servants...

He wanted to see what had happened, but who could have expected that the Blood Servant Mark would pull him through!

Before he could even process what was happening, he was summoned to the Inner City of Lutecia, with the Lutecia Cathedral not far from him!

What was even more absurd was that those three Legendary Clergy of the Lutecia Cathedral were right there in the church, glaring at each other across the void!

At that mont, Albrecht felt stupefied.

Weren’t Bernard and Joseph supposed to have gone to the Castel Domain to investigate the Dark Night God?

Why were they still in the Cathedral?

And... what a coincidence of timing?!

Thoughts tumbled in Albrecht’s mind; he felt wronged, dejected, furious, and puzzled all at once.

He felt aggrieved that he had barged into a fight with the Church’s three Legends unprepared.

He was disheartened that nearly a century of subterfuge had been undone in an instant, and it was likely that his plans for the Sacrificial Council would also be in shambles.

He was enraged that the mastermind behind all this turned out to be the strongest Blood Servant he himself had promoted.

And he was baffled about what madness had possessed the other party and how they managed to summon him...

What the hell was that bastard Bertrand up to?

Why could a re Blood Servant summon him, their Master?

And... to conduct such a grandiose summoning?

That was Demon Summoning, right?

He was already of Bloodline, and his Demon identity had long been given priority, with his true na as a Demon long concealed...

How did he find out?

Who was plotting against him?

Albrecht refused to believe that a re Taboo Blood Servant, whom he had duped until they were lost, had the guts to betray him, nor could he believe they could dig up his Demon true na, which hadn’t been used for who knows how many years, let alone succeed in summoning him in reverse.

He naturally thought of those old ones who knew his true na...

However, most of those old ones had either been crucified by the Holy Royal Court throughout the passage of ti or been banished to so different space.

Now that he thought about it, it seed like after nearly a thousand years, there almost weren’t any left.

So... which old enemy with a grudge against him had crawled out of a different space seeking revenge?

But that didn’t add up either. None of those from the Church who knew his Demon true na and were banished had returned, he was sure of that, and as for other beings that might know his Demon true na, it could only be those even more ancient figures...

With this revelation, Albrecht found himself deep in thought.

Those who knew his Demon true na were few. Besides those who had fallen, there were only a handful exiled to different spaces.
