In the depths of the mine, the passage of ti was always so dull.

Day after day, year after year.

Until the young Sub-human grew a full beard, until the wounded Black Dragon gradually healed.

"Miss Odosia, today I’ve brought Red Pig from Yonette that I bought from the market, the taste is absolutely fantastic!"

The young Sub-human, carrying a fat red-haired wild boar, cheerfully said.

"Isn’t there a problem with you frequently bringing food into the mine?"

"Don’t worry, I always sneak through a secret passage at night, no one has found out,"

Kael said with a smile.

"Thank you..."

"What are you thanking for? I should be thanking you for the Mithril chunks you give every ti! Aren’t we friends?"

...

My na is Odosia.

I am a true Black Dragon.

I had thought that as a proud Black Dragon, friendship and companionship could never be a part of a dragon’s life.

But I seed to have been wrong.

After more than a decade of companionship, Kael’s presence had almost beco part of the long years of my healing...

Habit is a terrifying thing.

Even a being like had gradually grown accustod to things I definitely wouldn’t have touched in the past.

I no longer planned to kill him.

Once healed, I would say goodbye to him, and then soar up into the sky.

As a friend.

I thought these days would continue forever, until we parted.

I had thought just that...

...

"Odosia, did you go into the eastern mine area the other day?"

"I was looking for Mithril, you know, my injuries are about to heal, and at this last mont, I need higher quality Mithril."

"Be careful lately, soone in the forge has started to suspect the presence of a dragon in the mine."

"I will."

...

"Odosia! Run! The forge has hired Yonette’s dragon-slaying rcenaries! They’ve discovered your trail! They’re coming for you!"

"What about you?"

"I’ll hold them off, they don’t know about my relationship with you, I can cover for you and buy you ti to escape!"

...

"Evil Black Dragon! So you were hiding here!"

"You desecrate the glory of our lord, and surely you will receive punishnt from above!"

"Die!"

...

Charlotte saw the mories.

She saw many, many mories.

They were the mories of an injured Black Dragon, from the start of its awakening, to accidentally eting a Sub-human, from resistance and alertness to familiarization and understanding, and finally becoming friends.

The end of those mories wasn’t exactly happy.

The Black Dragon, exposed, was pursued by the Yonette rcenary Corps, and the Sub-human died trying to cover for the dragon’s tracks.

A fierce battle erupted in the forest, the enraged Black Dragon eventually killed the dragon-slaying rcenaries at the cost of being gravely injured again, but the Sub-human was gone for good.

Charlotte felt strong emotions, belonging to the Black Dragon.

They were not entirely of sadness and pain, but more so of sentintality, guilt, and confusion...

The death of the Sub-human brought a profound shock to the Black Dragon, but it was not just the sorrow from the death of a friend; within that sorrow, there seed to be sothing even deeper.

This strong shock felt familiar.

In a distant past, she seed to have experienced sothing similar before.

The Black Dragon felt as if she’d forgotten sothing.

Forgotten sothing very important.

Until... soone found her.

"It seems that Miss Odosia no longer needs our help,"

In the chaos of the forest, a figure cloaked in black hood chuckled in a hoarse voice.

"Who are you?"

The bloodied Black Dragon asked warily.

"Who I am is not important. What is important is, Miss Odosia, do you know who you are, do you know your past? Do you know why you were pursued by the Yonette rcenaries? And do you... wish to resurrect those beings you cherish."

The shadow asked.

The Black Dragon fell silent.

Her gaze never left the body of the Sub-human.

"Who are you all? Can you resurrect her? You... know about my past?"

She asked.

The shadow laughed:

"You can call us the Blood Demon Church."

"Join us, and you can know everything you wish to know..."

...

Charlotte finished seeing Odosia’s mories.

They weren’t particularly complex mories, aside from the daily healings in the mine, the real change only ca at the end of the mories.

Charlotte now understood why the Black Dragon joined the Blood Demon Church.

"So, it was to resurrect a friend as well as to find her own past..."

Charlotte thought to herself.

About the friend in the Black Dragon Odosia’s mories, if Charlotte wasn’t mistaken, it was the brother of little werewolf Noah.

He had disappeared seven years ago, and now, having seen the Black Dragon’s mories, she knew that he was dead.

Charlotte couldn’t make any judgnts, only sighing in her heart that even a brutal Black Dragon could possess friendship.

However, having read the Black Dragon’s mories and entered into the Black Dragon’s emotions, Charlotte also knew that what truly made the Black Dragon join the Blood Demon Church without hesitation, willing to work hard for the Blood Demon Church, was not just to resurrect the Sub-human Kael.

More importantly, it was to find her past.

The death of the Sub-human Kael was just the catalyst; the shock to her soul’s depths was the most profound for Odosia.

In reading the mories, Charlotte was able to clearly sense the emotions that Odosia had erupted with at the ti.
