The muffled horns grew louder, and a silver radiance lit up the battlefield.

As the accompanying mage chanted, the inscriptions on the Bold-Violet Regular Transcendent standing armor lit up one after another.

"Shields up!"

A noble commanding the troops shouted.

Soldiers clad in full armor swiftly raised their shields, and inscriptions on them also lit up, eventually sketching a honeycomb-shaped magic shield above the formation.

Arrows from Castel fell like raindrops, accompanied by the simultaneous firing of sail-cannons across the river.

However, beyond the enchanted arrows used by the Transcendents or the costly anti-magic stone bullets, regular attacks hardly damaged the activated Magic Energy Military Formation.

The battle erupted on the bridge almost imdiately, and it was a one-sided affair from the start.

The noble leading the Castel soldiers in defense of the bridge was almost instantly swallowed by the brilliance of the Magic Energy Military Formation. The gleaming silver formation cut through Castel’s lines like a sharp steel blade, piercing the bridge with ease.

From the high tower in North Port, Charlotte saw the situation more clearly.

After the enemy’s Magic Energy Formation advanced, the lengthy tug-of-war over North Port Bridge was almost instantly lost at a rate of one ter per second, and the Castel soldiers were either consud by the attacking Transcendent Army Formation or pushed off the bridge.

"Count, we have a ssage from Baron Saumur—he says North Port Bridge can no longer be held!"

"Count, Viscount Roman Fuer reports that the fleet’s supply of anti-magic ammo is exhausted. He suggests destroying North Port Bridge to prevent the enemy from crossing!"

"Count..."

Bad news kept pouring in, rapidly worsening the situation.

Charlotte also noticed that the magic shield enveloping the entire North Port was trembling under the barrage from the Allied Forces fleet, appearing as if it might collapse at any mont.

"Count..."

Viscount Lien Castel watched the direction of North Port Bridge solemnly and couldn’t help saying,

"Destroy the bridge. We absolutely cannot let the Regular Transcendent cross. Once they do, and the enemy’s stone-shooting cannons are also moved to the North Shore, North Port will fall into even greater danger..."

"Count, please give the order to destroy the bridge! Once they can control and activate defensive magic, it will be very difficult for us to take action!"

"Yes, the North Port Bridge can be rebuilt later, but North Port itself must not fall!"

Other nobles also persuaded urgently.

Charlotte slowly diverted her gaze, gently shaking her head:

"No, North Port Bridge is crucial for our counterattack, we cannot destroy it."

"Count!"

The nobles beca anxious:

"If we can’t even defend, how can we talk about a counterattack?"

"Yes, there are too many of Bold’s Regular Transcendent; we simply cannot resist..."

Viscount Lien Castel also sighed:

"Count, North Port’s magic defense system might be strong, but it has its limits. To protect the city center, our shield is almost at its breaking point. If we allow the enemy to continue advancing, the consequences will be unimaginable..."

He looked deeply into Charlotte’s eyes and respectfully continued,

"I believe you have your considerations and you’re hoping for a counteroffensive, but right now, we need to think about how we can hold our ground."

"The strength of the spell shield depends on the prowess of its wielder. Although Chairman Layton is an experienced Silver Moon Mage, maintaining such a large-scale magic defense is too difficult."

"We Castel are no longer the Castel that once had the Blazing Sun. Perhaps your father could easily maintain shields to protect civilians during the Star Moon War, but now... tis have changed."

"Count, the magic power of our Castel has long not been what it once was. To achieve victory, sacrifices must sotis be made..."

After hearing the old viscount’s words, Charlotte’s heart stirred:

"Viscount Lien Castel, are you suggesting..."

Viscount Lien Castel clenched his teeth and said:

"Destroy the North Port bridge and lift the protection over the urban area, only maintain the magic defense on the Count Mansion and the fortress, delay the holdout ti as much as possible!"

Charlotte furrowed her brows slightly.

She was about to respond, but suddenly heard a series of noises from the sky that sounded like cracking glass.

Charlotte looked up and saw the magic shield enveloping North Port above becoming increasingly unstable, so of its weaker parts even starting to appear illusory.

The Duchy fleet’s bombardnt was still ongoing.

Under Charlotte’s focused gaze, so stone projectiles even managed to penetrate the shield’s protection and fell into North Port City.

Loud booms sounded, thick smoke billowed through the city, and from ti to ti, people’s panicked screams could be heard.

Suddenly, another guard hurried over, followed by two trusted aides, supporting a pale-faced magic apprentice.

"Count! There’s an urgent situation report from the Mage Tower!"

the guard said quickly.

Charlotte looked at the apprentice:

"What happened?"

"Count... Lord, Lord Layton can hardly maintain it anymore, the magic shield... is... reaching its limit..."

The surrounding nobles changed color upon hearing the apprentice’s words.

"Count! We can’t delay any longer!"

Viscount Lien Castel shouted.

Charlotte remained silent.

"Count!"

The Old Viscount repeated anxiously.

Charlotte then lifted her head, glanced at the illusory magic shield in the sky, and suddenly said:

"Viscount Lien Castel, you just ntioned... my father once maintained a defensive magic that covered all of North Port during the Star Moon War?"

The Old Viscount was stunned for a mont, instinctively responding:

"Yes."

Charlotte seed thoughtful.

Monts later, she suddenly lifted her head and directly told the guard:

"Co, take to the Mage Tower."

The guard and the nobles were all stunned, but looking at the girl’s serious, beautiful profile, the Old Viscount had a sudden realization and his expression dramatically changed:

"Count, you... you wouldn’t be thinking of controlling the magic defense system yourself, would you?"

"Indeed, your father once maintained the entire North Port’s defense system for a long ti, but your father was a Blazing Sun! It’s different!"

"You have indeed grown rapidly, with exceptional talents, but you are still a Silver Moon!"

"The Blazing Sun Strong’s spirit strength and magic power far exceed that of ordinary Transcendents; it’s not a gap that can be bridged by quantity, it’s impossible for you to do it, and it could very likely endanger your life!"

"You..."

Charlotte suddenly raised her hand to stop his words.

She placed her slender forefinger to her lips, revealing a gentle, beautiful smile, and said softly:

"How can we know without trying?"

Speaking, she raised her head and devoutly drew a Ring Cross over her chest:

"It’s not just the Third Prince we are fighting against, but also the Blood Demon Church secretly supporting him from behind..."

"I believe, as long as we hold a devout heart, God...will protect us, and help us conquer evil."
