The Great Priest Linus was arrested.
On the very first day the Assessnt Team from the Holy Royal Court entered Bold City, he was arrested.
Even after preparing for the worst, all his contingency plans lost their aning under the tight encirclent of three Blazing Sun Knights.
He hadn’t even had ti to pull out the Teleportation Scroll in his arms and tear it open before a cold snort from a Third Tier Judgent Knight took it from him, and then he was wholly restrained...
Although he was also of the Third Tier, the combat prowess of Judgent Knights was usually far superior to that of priests like the Great Priest Linus.
Let alone, he was surrounded by three Blazing Suns.
The Great Priest’s heart was filled with anxiety. He frantically called out to the Dark Night God in his mind, but he received no response at all.
It was only when the Judgent Knight roughly locked his hands with Magic Prohibition chains that he finally realized the Dark Night God... had not protected him at all.
The heart of the Great Priest instantly turned ice cold, a chill engulfing him even in the scorching sumr heat.
"No! This is slander! Your Excellency the Vice Examiner, I demand to appeal!" he said, disheveled and agitated.
"Appeal? You can present your appeal... during the Holy Judgnt in front of the Judgnt Chief of the New Moon Diocese," Chief Priest Lantis responded coldly.
Holy Judgnt!
The Great Priest’s face paled slightly.
He looked bewildered and dejected, his body almost instantly drained of strength.
Holy Judgnt!
The severest verdict of the Judgent Court!
Only implented after obtaining concrete evidence and each deploynt ensures that the condemned party pays a price!
This disaster that the Rose Association once faced... had now befallen him alone.
At that mont, the Great Priest finally realized... he was finished.
...
When the Holy believers of Bold City headed to the Grand Cathedral with excitent to attend the grand welcoming event for the Holy Royal Court Assessnt Team organized by the Great Priest, what they saw instead was the Great Priest, with a gray expression and shackled, being pushed out of the Grand Cathedral by the Judgent Knights.
This unexpected scene left all believers montarily stunned.
"What happened?"
"Why was the Great Priest... arrested?"
The believers buzzed with discussions, their expressions full of shock.
However, it didn’t take long for Chief Priest Lantis to erge from the Grand Cathedral with the other two Blazing Sun Knights.
He glanced at the Holy believers gathered around the Grand Cathedral and whispered a few words to the priest who followed him.
The priest accompanying Lantis nodded and then went to the plaza in front of the Grand Cathedral. Using the Church’s amplification Array, he broadcast the sentence for the Great Priest of Bold over every corner of the plaza.
Molesting thousands of underage girls, acting as the umbrella for the Drunk Dream Saloon, colluding with the Blood Demon Church...
The list of charges was read one by one, causing an uproar.
The initial confusion over the actions of the Assessnt Team quickly turned into fury towards the Fallen Priest.
Astonishnt, disappointnt, disgust, rage...
The believers beca fervently indignant, starting to curse and berate loudly:
"A Demon! A demon wearing human skin!"
"Burn him! Burn this dark Fallen one!"
It was unclear who threw the first stone, but when soone picked one up from the ground and hurled it at the disheveled Great Priest, others quickly followed suit.
Stones, rotten food, excrent... filth of all sorts was thrown at him from all directions.
Once held in high esteem and above all, the Great Priest had now beco the target of everyone’s revulsion.
Chief Priest Lantis watched all this coldly, making no move to intercede.
The Holy Royal Court despises the corruption of priests the most.
And every Fallen Priest, not only will be subject to the most severe judgnt, but all his sins will be made public for the world to scorn.
Perhaps this thod of exposing darkness could damage the authority of the Holy Royal Court, but it is precisely because of such harsh punishnt from the Holy Royal Court that the Church, with a thousand years of history, still stands unyielding.
The enraged believers vented their fury at the imprisoned Great Priest as more and more onlookers from all directions arrived.
Spectating has always been the pleasure of mortals; the delights of priests are no less than those of the Nobles.
As the number of onlookers coming to spit their contempt increased, the scene began to grow vaguely chaotic.
Lantis Main Priest frowned slightly.
He glanced at the Great Priest, who sat collapsed on the ground with a look of utter desolation, ready to put an end to this farce.
But just then, an elderly woman in tattered clothing burst out from the crowd.
She pushed past the Judgent Knights maintaining order, her eyes red as she rushed towards the Great Priest, her voice hoarsely screaming:
"Demon! You damn Demon! Give back my daughter! Give back my daughter!"
The woman was quickly restrained by the Knights.
But the chaotic crowd gradually quieted down.
"It’s the widow Luna..."
"I heard that her three daughters, who were all she had, were consecutively taken away by the Drunk Dream Saloon..."
"Beasts..."
Watching the weeping woman, the onlookers wore complex expressions, their faces showing signs of pity.
anwhile, more and more of the elderly began to stand out one after another, breaking down in tears.
These were the unfortunate parents who had lost daughters over the last ten or more years to the activities of the Blood Demon Church and the Drunk Dream Saloon.
A decade and more of bloody sacrifices, with thousands of young girls victimized and countless families destroyed.
While the Noble who had hosted the Drunk Dream Saloon had died, everyone understood that without the shelter of the Great Priest, this bloody and dark activity would not have continued until now.
The organizers of the event deserved a thousand deaths.
But the secret patron behind the curtains was even more detestable.
Watching the crying elders, Lantis Main Priest sighed deeply and said,
"Help them up, and then... take Linus away."
Knights and priests quickly helped the elders down, and Great Priest Linus was escorted away by Judgent Knights.
As the principal offender was taken away, the crowd gathered in the square gradually dispersed.
In a corner of the square, Kara, dressed in civilian clothes, stood under the shadow of a roadside tree, silently looking towards the direction of the Grand Cathedral.
Beside her, Duke’s son Laino wore a complex expression, his face showing signs of pity:
"I really didn’t expect... that the protector of the Drunk Dream Saloon would turn out to be the Great Priest!"
"No wonder for so many years, the Blood Demon Cultists in Bold City could not be completely eradicated! It turns out... the Church itself had issues!"
Saying this, he couldn’t help but look towards the expressionless female Knight, Kara:
"Kara, I just heard them say... it seems like the Great Priest was reported, but who exactly was the whistleblower who could investigate this clearly?"
He had just finished speaking when several Judgent Knights from the Assessnt Team galloped over from afar.
Leading them was, to Kara’s surprise, the Vice Examiner of the Assessnt Team, the Third Tier Blazing Sun Knight, who was also the newly appointed Great Knight of Bold.
He ca before Kara and with an appreciative smile, made the sign of the Ring Cross with his right hand, saying:
"Praise the Holy! You must be Kara, the Chief Demon Hunting Captain of Bold, right?"
"Lady Kara, thank you for your report on Great Priest Linus, allowing the Royal Court to tily cleanse such a Fallen scourge!"
Click click click... Kara reported him?
Laino was suddenly shocked.
And the Blazing Sun Knight looked serious, sincerely asking:
"Lady Kara, the Judgent Chief of the New Moon Diocese holds you in high regard; do you have any interest in leaving Bold City to join the Judgent Court of the Diocese?"
