"Because we are human," Li Chengyi answered.
He walked step by step towards the other.
"Humans, such creatures, are always unsatisfied, always wanting more.
They have emotions and desires, impulses, they cry, they laugh, they love, they hate. Would you like a stone that never moves, that stays to keep you company?"
"That sister said sothing similar. I believed her, and I let her go out," Yserine said.
"Then, I never saw her again."
Her expression suddenly twisted.
"She lied to !! She promised she would co back!!"
"She died," Li Chengyi cut her off.
He knew who she was talking about. When investigating, he had already found out about the few Blind Spot Individuals who entered Tightening Grasp before.
Before integrating other Blind Spots to form a new one, so records had been found about Yserine’s individual Blind Spot, and he gradually learned so related information.
"No matter what, I won’t let you out," Yserine’s expression cald down.
"Yserine." Li Chengyi walked up to her and stopped less than a ter away.
"Are you scared?"
"No, I just, I believed many tis, but it’s useless..." Yserine replied. "You adults never keep your word... My mother, the sister..."
"I’m different," Li Chengyi interrupted her.
"I am soone who is very afraid of death," he said seriously, as though it was sowhat embarrassing.
"Then why do you want to go out? It’s dangerous outside!" Yserine asked.
"Because..." Li Chengyi smiled. "Fear is a sign of weakness."
"The weaker one is, the more they need to move forward." He looked at Yserine in front of him.
"You’re scared, so you stay put, never really going out, touching more. So, for many years, you’ve been here, standing still."
"I..."
She wanted to say sothing else, but suddenly saw a hand extended in front of her.
"Do you want to go out with ?"
Li Chengyi’s face carried a gentle smile.
Yserine was startled, blankly staring at the palm in front of her, unsure how to react.
"Can I...?"
"Why not? I can give you and Ah Qiu a room each. You both can have soft toy bears, pretty skirts, and all kinds of delicious snacks," Li Chengyi said earnestly.
"Ah Qiu is not human..." Yserine laughed, her pale face taking on a sowhat terrifying look as she smiled.
"Even though I know brother is deceiving , but... I’ll trust you one last ti."
She still stepped aside, revealing the door behind her.
Li Chengyi laid his hand gently on her head.
"By the way, do you have a favorite scent?" he asked.
"If there’s orange-scented oil, that would be best," Yserine imdiately replied.
"And," she seed slightly dissatisfied, "brother put a piece of Ah Qiu’s bone into my stomach yesterday."
Li Chengyi suddenly felt a bit awkward.
"So, you knew all along, huh? Next ti, next ti I definitely won’t," he said as he ruffled Yserine’s long hair and walked to the door, pushing it forward with his hand.
Bang.
The door suddenly swung open, and bright light shone in from outside.
Li Chengyi took a step forward, but suddenly felt as if sothing was pulling at the hem of his clothes.
He looked back.
Yserine was holding onto his clothes, lifting her face with a slight smile.
Hiss.
In an instant, under the illumination, her form rapidly turned into black smoke and dissipated.
"I won’t be fooled again!" Her voice faintly drifted over. "I want to go out too!"
"You’re not scared anymore?" Li Chengyi was sowhat surprised.
"I can hide in the shadow behind brother. If you lie to , I’ll bring you back and you’ll never get out!" Yserine answered.
"Is that so? Then perhaps it’s my turn to be scared," Li Chengyi laughed.
Looking at the bright gateway ahead.
He strode forward, walking straight out.

Endless Staircase.
A circle of bright white light illuminated the walls within the staircase.
Rainbow Candy and Da Xiong were both dressed in gray, form-fitting long-sleeved jerseys, paired with simple outdoor black trousers with many pockets.
Zippers, flaps, open pockets, and drawstrings all carried various small tools and items.
At the mont, both sat on the floor, concentrating on the chanical spider’s exploration status displayed on the screen.
The originally dark staircase was now brightly lit by the chanical spider and the light from their wristwatches, giving an overwhelming sense of security.
"Look, this is the power of technology!" Rainbow Candy, biting a lollipop, brimd with confidence.
"I had each of these chanical spiders engraved with many religious talismans and scriptures for warding off evil! Anyway, regardless of the Sect, as long as it’s sowhat targeted, I had them all engraved. Maybe one of them will work."
She manipulated the screen with a series of commands.
"Now the fifty floors above and below are all under my control. Next is summing up the detailed information. Da Xiong, get ready to take notes."
"Okay!" Da Xiong nodded and began to search his body for tools.
Despite both wearing the exact sa outfit, the simple jersey looked strikingly different on her—with one glance downwards revealing ample curves.
"Damn it!" Upon seeing this, Rainbow Candy’s eyes flashed with envy.
Plup.
Just then, several chanical spiders on the screen suddenly lost their links.
"The signal is cut off? The self-destruct didn’t initiate, is there a malfunction?" Rainbow Candy quickly ca to her senses and pulled up the status on the screen to check.
"Anything could happen in the Blind Spot. Be careful and prepare for the worst," Da Xiong cautioned from the side.
Before her voice had even faded,
Put put put put...
Instantly, dozens of chanical spiders lost contact in the direction downstairs.
It was as if they had suddenly lost power, silently disconnecting.
"Damn it! Where’s my bomb?! Blow the damn thing up!!" Rainbow Candy exploded with profanity in an instant.
"Why is there no movent at all!!?" She frantically began to rapidly initiate the attack mode of the chanical spiders.
"Sothing is approaching! And it’s getting faster!" Da Xiong took out sothing like a handheld computer and looked closely.
"I can’t detect anything here!?" Rainbow Candy grew anxious.
"This is the latest research, using airflow trace technology to reverse-calculate the presence of individuals. As long as it can leave traces in the surrounding environnt, there must be..."
Puchi.
In an instant, Da Xiong disappeared from the spot with his equipnt, as if a fra was skipped in a film.
All was quiet.
Leaving only Rainbow Candy sitting there, dazed for a mont.
"Fuck!!" she slamd her fist onto the floor, her face contorted with fury.
"Explode! Blow them all up for !!"
In her agitation, she heavily tapped the explosion authorization button on the screen.
Bang!
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
Suddenly, a series of continuous explosions ca rushing from below.
But it was useless; the chanical spiders on the screen quieted down only briefly.
Soon, more and more spiders began to lose contact.
The mysterious entity had already approached within thirty floors of Rainbow Candy. And it continued to ascend at an increasing speed!
Rainbow Candy quickly cald herself down, after all, she wasn’t a newbie; she was a veteran who had survived the Blind Spot several tis.
She knew that the more frantic she was, the faster she would die.
"Explosions are useless, then? How about radiation?"
She reached out to tap the screen.
Calling another group of chanical spiders to et the threat head-on.
These spiders hadn’t approached yet when they activated the high-intensity radiation beams within their bodies.
A flood of special radiations that could cause cancer and cell mutation was emitted, but before it lasted a few seconds, all the spiders releasing radiation went dark, disconnected.
"Completely immune?" Rainbow Candy again deployed spiders, advancing to intercept.
This ti, all the spiders were equipped with microwave devices.
Working together, they could heat any living thing in the environnt to over three hundred degrees in an extrely short ti.
The key was that this heating was continuous.
But quickly, the microwave-emitting chanical spiders went dark and lost contact one by one.
This made Rainbow Candy’s expression grow increasingly grim.
At this point, the mysterious entity had ascended to the fifteenth floor’s range and continued to close in on her location.
She quickly got up, took an electric shock gun from her pocket, and turned to run upstairs.
Knowing that she wouldn’t likely survive an encounter with a monster to which even the chanical spiders’ self-destruction was ineffective.
The current plan was to quickly confirm whether or not any other escape thods were viable!
Before they entered, they had co up with five escape thods, all with the highest chance of success.
The first option was now impossible to carry out—originally planning to use chanical spiders to probe the boundaries, but unfortunately...
The second option was similar to many cases in the Blind Spot, where resisting the monster’s pursuit for a duration could grant an opportunity to escape.
The third option was Rainbow Candy’s favorite.
Icebreaking thod!
Cause widespread destruction within the Blind Spot to weaken its influence and potentially allow for a complete escape.
Several tis before, she had successfully escaped by using this thod.
But this ti...
Whoosh!!
All of a sudden, all the chanical spiders upstairs also disconnected at once!
It seed as if so entity from upstairs was rapidly approaching this location as well.
’There’s sothing upstairs too!?’ A fierce look flashed in Rainbow Candy’s eyes as she found a spot to squat down and swiftly pulled out a small black round box from her body and tossed it out.
Click, the small round box quickly transford, expanded, and beca a hemispherical umbrella-like cover, completely shielding Rainbow Candy underneath.
"Die, all of you!" Inside the cover, Rainbow Candy fiercely pressed the self-destruct button on the screen.
Boom!!!
At the sa ti, an intense explosion erupted from both above and below.
Blistering air currents surged in from both directions, hitting the cover and being deflected away.
Rainbow Candy breathed a sigh of relief, waiting for the air currents to weaken before lifting the cover and packing it away.
She carefully surveyed the gray, dusty staircase by the light of her wristwatch.
And just when she least expected it,
Out of the dust, the figure of a person with black hair and a black dress quietly erged behind her.
"Eh? A door!?" Suddenly, Rainbow Candy was startled to find a rectangular gray wooden door had appeared in the wall to the right at so unknown ti.
Faint red light seeped through the edges of the door’s crack.
"What is this!?"
Click.
The door was slowly pushed open a crack.
